  • Team Canada!

"Hello! This condo exceeded our expectations!! Everything you see in the pictures is exactly what you get! This condo is located in a great part of Poipu, only minutes away from several beaches, restaurants and shopping centres. My friend found it a great, safe area for her morning runs. As well, we took the time to walk to Poipu beach park, which was only about a 20 minute walk. The closest shopping place, Poipu Shopping Village, was also within walking distance. As well, with our rental car, we had easy access to the Sprouting Horn, Old Koloa Town and the Shops and restaurants at Kukui'ula. The condo is situated near the Grand Hyatt and several other resorts, so you can have access to their spa services and restaurants as well. The condo itself was well equipped. Since there was a washing machine and dryer, I was able to pack lighter (and bring more souvenirs and chocolate home!) Also, we were able to save a bit of money by utilizing the kitchen and cooking our own food. Overall, my friend and I had an amazing time in Kauai. We'll surely be back!"

  • Great Location

"We spent a week here with our son and daughter-in-law and our two grandsons ages 8 and 6. The kids enjoyed the loft area as an exclusive enclave. The master suites had gorgeous views of the ocean and comfortable beds. The kitchen was fully stocked with decent pots and pans and even sharp knives, which most rental condos lack. The owner obviously pays attention to detail. Even the spice selection was more than adaquate. But the best room was the living area with it"s expansive deck on two sides. where we could watch and hear the crashing surf. All of us enjoyed watching the turtles and porpoises off the veranda. Poipu Beach and Shipwreck Beach are within walking distance. We would definately love to go back."

  • The Bride's Family

"What amazing views! Every morning, we had coffee and breakfast on the lanai and watched the waves crash on the rocks. Our first evening there we watched the full moon rise over the ocean. We enjoyed walks to Shipwreck Beach or Poipu Beach. The condo is clean bright and airy. It is located close to everything on the south end of the island and easy driving to the north shore. . The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, and we even grilled out one evening. The gardens were beautiful and the common areas were well maintained. The owners and office staff were very helpful. This was our first trip to Kauai- our daughter was getting married on the beach. The wedding and reception exceeded all expectations, Kauai was spectacular! Family menbers who stayed at other condos were in awe of our space and views. We would definitely go back and would highly recommend this spot to others!"

  • Any closer and you'd be in the water

"First-pictures can't accurately depict the incredible location and view at this property! We rent vacation homes 3-4x a year and this was incredible. Well appointed, spacious, clean, comfy, and the best location on Poipu. We love to cook-and the kitchen had all we needed. It even had spices, oil, etc. We used items and left some for others-nice that kitchen was not cleaned of usable out after each stay as we have experienced that at other properties. Windows, doors, and ceiling fans worked great for air circulation and comfort. Towels, sheets, washer/dryer were great. Had beach chairs and cooler (we did buy a better quality beach chair and left for future renters). No beach towels-so be sure you pack those. Parking and pool were terrific. The best part was the lanai!!! View is incredible, whales, dolphins, and turtles every day. Mind you it was March so whales are still active. This condo is very roomy-plenty of space for two couples or a family. You will not regret this stay-highly recommend!"

Makahuena Travel Tips

Vacation in Luxury in Makahuena Condos

From soaring emerald cliffs to lush tropical scenery, Kaua'i, Hawaii is an ideal destination for travelers in need of a vacation that offers both relaxing downtime and thrilling adventures. Kaua'i boasts dramatic natural beauty and a variety of outdoor activities to ensure everyone in the family will have an unforgettable getaway. The island features 50 miles of white sandy beaches, such as Poipu Beach on the south side of the island. Poipu is known for its surfing, snorkeling and coastline of palm trees. The community surrounding it is primarily residential, so travelers can enjoy the many benefits of Poipu vacation rentals, such as Makahuena vacation homes.

Located on a bluff overlooking the Pacific, Makahuena vacation homes boast gorgeous views of the ocean and the Poipu coastline. While staying in Makahuena condos, guests can enjoy tennis courts, a community BBQ, a spacious sun deck, fully equipped kitchens and spacious floor plans that can accommodate couples or large families

The Benefits of Renting a Vacation Home

Choosing to rent a vacation home over a hotel has many benefits. Rentals like Makahuena condos give guests more privacy and space than hotels can offer, so vacationers can feel more at home while they're away. They are also often more affordable than hotels; guests, for instance, can choose to cook their own meals rather than dine out for the duration of their trip.

What to Do in Kaua'i

When you're ready to leave your condo rental behind for the day and explore new territory, Kaua'i offers plenty to do. Guides offer daily horseback tours as a unique way to experience Kaua'i's sparkling waterfalls and tropical scenery. Travelers can also tour Kaua'i with exciting ocean rafting or catamaran adventures. For those who want to take the opportunity to unwind on their vacation, there's the Anara Spa that offers traditional Hawaiian healing practices.
