  • Wonderful honeymoon spot!

"There's not a lot more we can add to the previous reviews - Hale Nani Mala was a spectacular closing week to our honeymoon. The house was exactly as advertised - even better, I'd say, with every appliance, gadget, amenity, etc. that you would want. Definitely 5*. It was spotlessly clean - even the laundry detergent cap was good as new. The only thing we couldn't find was a laundry drying rack - but I bet it's there somewhere. The kitchen was fantastic to cook in, the outdoor shower was perfect for washing off after the beach, the private pool was amazing, and the living room was awesome - great ambiance. We spent many nights relaxing, drinking wine and eating home-cooked (and take out!) food in front of the huge TV before going for a late-night dip. It did get pretty hot in the house at night when the doors were shut, but not unbearable and the fans were quite helpful. If you are very affected by the heat, I'd say go in a cooler month (if they exist...I think we were there during a mini heat wave). In additional to the beautiful home, the nearby attractions were great. We walked to a cheap pub (Kalapaki Joe's) with great wings and happy hour deals, to an expensive restaurant (Tidepools at the Hyatt) and the Hyatt beaches and an amazing hike on the cliffs. And the Wednesday farmers market at the local shops stocked our fridge with well-priced veggies and baked goods. I really can't comprehend why someone would complain that the pool isn't heated. In fact, we would have preferred it to be cooler! Perhaps we're used to the colder water being from Canada and swimming in lakes in the summer. But we sat in the un-heated/non-working "hot tub" many days during happy hour for literally an hour without getting cold. The price is somewhat steep if it's just two of you, but incredibly spacious and reasonable if you were two couples or a family. You will not be disappointed choosing Hale Nani Mala!!"

  • Poipu Paradise!

"We are home now and basking in the great memories of our stay at the Regency Poipu Kai in Kauai. Sue, thanks for all the wonderful tips and advice regarding our stay - you really helped make it a pleasant and relaxing vacation! The condo was perfect for our growing family and the late check out really came in handy due to a 2 hour delay in our flight on the final day. Our adult children and grand children so enjoyed the pools and beaches. We were also able to join the Poipu Athletic Club for 7 days which was an added bonus! Great Vacation Retreats emailed us the day we arrived to let us know of this new opportunity. The four bedrooms really worked out well for all of us and the kitchen was well equipped as described. We thoroughly enjoyed our walks on the Heritage trail that lead to Poipu to the west and the Grand Hyatt to the east. Each of the pools was uncrowded and the grounds were all very well kept. We highly recommend this property and hope to return again soon - it met all of our expectations and then some!"

  • Perfect Location, Very Comfortable and Hard to Leave!

"We just returned from a week's vacation to Kauai and made this condo our home base. It was very comfortable for our family of five, and we'd gladly return if we get the opportunity. You're just a few minutes walk to the beach, a fun bar/restaurant and the beautiful Hyatt. The tennis courts were right behind the condo (yet far enough away so the noise was never an issue), and our kids loved the grassy area out back to run around. The sunsets from the patio were stunning. There is not much of an ocean view unless you peek around the upstairs balcony, but we never missed it as we could walk out and see the ocean at any time. The beds were comfortable, and the beach closet was very well stocked with tennis racquets, balls, sand toys, beach towels, two really nice beach chairs, snorkel, masks and flippers, and more. The layout was great, and I loved the master bedroom upstairs. A nice place to escape the kids for a bit helped to make it an even better vacation!"
