"My partner and I just returned from a week in this condo which was excellent! There isn't a whole lot to add to what others have already said: the condo has everything you could possibly need for cooking, the beach and laundry. It is beautifully decorated, perfectly clean, and has a great satellite package for TV. The pool which was just redone last year is great in the afternoons after the beach or a hike. Beautiful gardens and trees all around it.
To add to what some have said about potential issues: We loved that you could see your neighbors on your balcony and there is no possible way they could see you on your bed unless they climbed onto your lanai; we ended up making good friends with the couple next door from New York, we slept well with no AC; you get a nice breeze at night from the ocean and the fan, and we loved the feral chickens; one morning the roosters were quieter than usual and we missed them.
Great things to do:
-the shoreline walk just to the left of Shipwreck Beach
-the Waimea Canyon Hike
-the Na'Pali coastline hike from Ke'e Beach
-snorkling just across the street by the Beach House; my partner swam with a turtle for 15 minutes.
The were great places to eat in the area from expensive to cheap depending on your mood and budget. We tried and enjoyed some from the whole gamut:
-The Beach House: amazing service and sunset
-Da Crack: cheap but delicious Mexican
-Pizzetta: try their spaghetti carbonara
-Bubba's: loved the Kauai Burger
-La Spezia: great Italian.
We loved shopping in the little stores in Old Koloa.
We found the book "Kauai Revealed" to be a great resource and it also helped to have a GPS to guide you around the island.
We noticed when walking by other units that lots of them hadn't been updated and we greatly appreciated the upgrades Alan and Jolly have made to theirs.
We hope to return in the near future and will certainly try to get this unit again when we do.

"We stayed at this unit for 8 nights and loved it. The unit is very clean and offers everything needed for your stay as well as a visit to the beach. The property is beautiful and immaculate with a lovely pool and garden. We used the public grills nightly to prepare fresh seafood and fish. The fellow residents and staff were very friendly. Parking was always available. The location is great and just across a street to reach lovely beaches and sunsets. My favorite part of this stay was sleeping and waking up to the sway of palm trees. Scott was so easy to work with and provides great ideas and information on Kauai. Kauai Rentals also provided terrific service. I will certainly return and stay at this paradise as soon as I can!"

"A superb Penthouse suite with spectacular views of the ocean. Well equipped 2bed, one bath with the most comfortable beds going. Although the apartment has no air conditioning, it's not needed as we closed all the blinds as we left for the day and then opened all the doors and windows for the cross breeze at night when we returned...what more could you ask for?...OK, Ocean waves breaking on the shore....that's just over the road.
Yes there is a small road below on a 15mph speed limit (which almost everyone complied with), yet at night there is no traffic of any great number and we were never disturbed by noisy vehicles.
There are several 'Farmers markets' in the area that are a must visit along with good gourmet foods at "Living Foods' just at the roundabout on the way in to Poipo.
The Plantation House is a stand out restaurant. Great atmosphere, good live music but unfortunately once away from there the other restaurants leave something to be desired. We were struck that other places were generic and you could be sitting in any city, any town, more of the Americanized 'get you in, serve it up and get you out' and although the food was good...it wasn't stand out, so no other recommendations guys...you're on your own.
Driving. With only one main road, speed limits pegged at 50, slow traffic is common so allow plenty of travel time...roll the windows down, turn off the air-conditioning and enjoy the great Hawaiian air.
Oceans. There's a small beach to the west...ideal for snorkeling (although we felt that the fish were hand fed as they were right in our face) otherwise...get moving and check out plenty of others (But watch for rip tides)
The Botanical Gardens are a must visit. Well worth having the guided tour as the history is important.
Best Island. Best apartment. Best Holiday"

"We really loved this condo. It was our first trip to Kauai and found the location to be great for travelling the whole island. Two beaches across the street for swimming/snorkeling. We watched the sun rise every morning over the park/ocean from our deck and then the sunset every night from the lawn at the Beach House Restaurant. The pool is really nice too and was not used much while we were there (even over American Thanksgiving) The condo has everything you would need for your stay...just like home. It is very clean, roomy and just plain nice to come home to each evening or hang out in when getting a later start on your day. The little extras were great....beach chairs, laundry basket, small cooler and ice pack for lunches to name a few. It is on the third floor of a no elevator building so for some that would not be appropriate but the stairs were not problem at all for us. We are already planning on returning to Kauai and hopefully to this condo. I would recommend it to anyone."
