"This was an excellent place to stay for our first trip to Kauai. We would sit on the lanai in the morning and enjoy the view while deciding what to do for the day. The location is quiet and away from the large resorts in Poipu, but close enough for a good walk or short drive. I also though it was a good central island location as we explored the West side (Waimea) one day and the East/North shore (Kapaa and Hanalei) on another day. We also appreciated some of the amenities available, such as beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, smaller cooler, and ice packs. The only thing my husband complained about was not having a better fan in the bedroom as he is a pretty warm person. Other than that, we would love to visit again. Aloha!"

"This condo is as nice as the reviews say it is. We had a terrific week.
With one exception:
The "private deck" is not even close to private. If that is one of the things that is weighing heavily in your decision, as it was in ours, you might look around a little more. The first five days of our stay, at least two people, if not more, wandered up to look around. Even with us lounging there they came on up and looked around. Oblivious to the fact that it was private. On the fifth day I put up a little plastic chain across the stairs and within an hour a grumpy guy, I assume the property manager, took it off and brought it up and dropped it in front of our door and lectured us about how that space was a community area.
I could explain in more detail but the bottom line is, people come and go on that deck on a daily basis. Including all of the roof top maintenance for the whole building.
We did have a great time and loved the condo. We were just more than a little disappointed in the traffic on our "private patio"."

"Although this property was not available for my chosen dates, I had excellent interactions with the owner, Florence. She was quick to respond, especially friendly, and very helpful in my search. I would definitely recommend working/renting with her!"

"My partner and I just returned from a week in this condo which was excellent! There isn't a whole lot to add to what others have already said: the condo has everything you could possibly need for cooking, the beach and laundry. It is beautifully decorated, perfectly clean, and has a great satellite package for TV. The pool which was just redone last year is great in the afternoons after the beach or a hike. Beautiful gardens and trees all around it.
To add to what some have said about potential issues: We loved that you could see your neighbors on your balcony and there is no possible way they could see you on your bed unless they climbed onto your lanai; we ended up making good friends with the couple next door from New York, we slept well with no AC; you get a nice breeze at night from the ocean and the fan, and we loved the feral chickens; one morning the roosters were quieter than usual and we missed them.
Great things to do:
-the shoreline walk just to the left of Shipwreck Beach
-the Waimea Canyon Hike
-the Na'Pali coastline hike from Ke'e Beach
-snorkling just across the street by the Beach House; my partner swam with a turtle for 15 minutes.
The were great places to eat in the area from expensive to cheap depending on your mood and budget. We tried and enjoyed some from the whole gamut:
-The Beach House: amazing service and sunset
-Da Crack: cheap but delicious Mexican
-Pizzetta: try their spaghetti carbonara
-Bubba's: loved the Kauai Burger
-La Spezia: great Italian.
We loved shopping in the little stores in Old Koloa.
We found the book "Kauai Revealed" to be a great resource and it also helped to have a GPS to guide you around the island.
We noticed when walking by other units that lots of them hadn't been updated and we greatly appreciated the upgrades Alan and Jolly have made to theirs.
We hope to return in the near future and will certainly try to get this unit again when we do.
