"Perfect place to spend our honeymoon. The location really can't be beat, especially for the affordable cost. Our favorite part was watching the green parrots in the palm trees right off the lanai at dawn and dusk coming in to roost for the night. I've never seen anything like it! The AC was very helpful on evenings when the trade winds weren't blowing. It was also nice to sleep some nights without it. The pool area was a clean quiet oasis. There were beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas and snorkel gear that we took to Poipu Beach and Ke'e Beach for all day excursions. The bed was nice and big and comfy. There were plenty of towels in the closet plus hangers and a spare rod so you can dry your suits and towels in the shower. The couch area was perfect for having morning coffee while watching the news for the weather and surf report or relaxing in the afternoon with a book and a cool drink. The unit is on the top floor and near the stairs. With the exception of a few slamming doors now and then the room is very peaceful and quiet. Absolutely no road noise whatsoever. Just the relaxing waterfall near the pool and the occasional Kauai chicken.
We did have a little bit of a problem keeping the sugar ants at bay. We kept the counters and sink wiped clean but as soon as we turned the oven on they came running out. That's what you get in the tropics though, keep it tidy and they weren't too bad. The stove burners were a little wonky and I had a pan go sliding off a few times but we managed. Used the grills down by the pool area to cook up some ono and fresh local veggies from the Wednesday market at Kukui'ula shoping center which is within walking distance. They also have live music on Friday nights. It was really nice having a kitchen area to save money and cook in some of our meals. Our favorite breakfast was half of a papaya with some yogurt and Anahola granola. YUM!
There's a very nice laundry room down on the first floor for people who need to do a wash. There was a basket in the bathroom closet that we used a couple of times to take down and run a quick load.
Lawai Beach and the Beach House restaurant are right across the street. One of the best places on the island to watch the sunset!
Kauai Vacation Rentals were very helpful and accommodating. We absolutely loved the shopping bag and the little lunch cooler with coffee and goodies. It was such a nice touch. Thank you so much for helping us have a memorable trip. Mahalo!"

"My partner and I just returned from a week in this condo which was excellent! There isn't a whole lot to add to what others have already said: the condo has everything you could possibly need for cooking, the beach and laundry. It is beautifully decorated, perfectly clean, and has a great satellite package for TV. The pool which was just redone last year is great in the afternoons after the beach or a hike. Beautiful gardens and trees all around it.
To add to what some have said about potential issues: We loved that you could see your neighbors on your balcony and there is no possible way they could see you on your bed unless they climbed onto your lanai; we ended up making good friends with the couple next door from New York, we slept well with no AC; you get a nice breeze at night from the ocean and the fan, and we loved the feral chickens; one morning the roosters were quieter than usual and we missed them.
Great things to do:
-the shoreline walk just to the left of Shipwreck Beach
-the Waimea Canyon Hike
-the Na'Pali coastline hike from Ke'e Beach
-snorkling just across the street by the Beach House; my partner swam with a turtle for 15 minutes.
The were great places to eat in the area from expensive to cheap depending on your mood and budget. We tried and enjoyed some from the whole gamut:
-The Beach House: amazing service and sunset
-Da Crack: cheap but delicious Mexican
-Pizzetta: try their spaghetti carbonara
-Bubba's: loved the Kauai Burger
-La Spezia: great Italian.
We loved shopping in the little stores in Old Koloa.
We found the book "Kauai Revealed" to be a great resource and it also helped to have a GPS to guide you around the island.
We noticed when walking by other units that lots of them hadn't been updated and we greatly appreciated the upgrades Alan and Jolly have made to theirs.
We hope to return in the near future and will certainly try to get this unit again when we do.

"This condo was a perfect home base for a wonderful vacation exploring all of Kauai! While the condo is excellent in many regards, we were most impressed by the upstairs area which has a large, very well stocked kitchen, breezy and open living area and fantastic views (especially at sunset). Poipu Beach is an easy walk away, as is Brenneke's, and the Grand Hyatt amenities (pool, restaurants, beach, etc.) Everything else, Waimea canyon, Napali coast tour via boat, and even east and north beaches are a short drive away. And, it was always nice to return to the sunny south and a great pool at the end of the day. This was one of our best family vacations. Thank you!!!"

"We have been renting ocean front condos in Poipu for four years, and this one blew the other ones away! The 270 degree view of the coast and mountains is spectacular. Then there is the interior. High grade tasteful colors and finishes though out. Also the furnishings are first class. We and our guests loved this place and it is #1 on our list for next year. We enjoyed having the third bedroom/office. It served well for our 2 yr old grand daughter as a bedroom and our friend who was on a working vacation as an office. Also, the management and cleaning staff were friendly and professional."
