"A beautiful condo in a beautiful location! We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for our first visit to Kauai. Everything was as described and Rick and Kathy (owners) were great to work with. Watching the waves, surfers and turtles while eating breakfast out on the lanai every morning was a special treat. What a view! Being steps away from the excellent Beach House restaurant was another bonus. If you're looking for a beautiful, ocean-front condo in Poipu, this is the place. (By the way, you absolutely have to try the malasadas from the wonderful woman in front of the Lihue K-Mart.)"

"My wife and I had a wonderful time here for a week. We enjoyed the beautiful ocean views from the lanai. It was a short walk to the beach and nice snorkeling, as well as the wonderful Beach House restaurant. Its a short drive to Poipu Beach. The condo was superbly equipped, very clean & well maintained, and all as advertised in the VRBO listing. We'd love to come again for a return visit. One traveler note-- Kauai has a lot of chickens (so does the big island), they call it Rooster country on the radio. If you are a very light sleeper (like me) bring your ear plugs which I did. I plugged them in during my over-night bathroom stop and this way the rooster early morning crowing did not wake me. However let me say my husband thought they were humorous, and now has rooster crowing on is iPhone ring tone!!"

  • We felt like locals!

"We could not have wished for a better place to spend our vacation in Hawaii. We loved everything from eating meals on the patio to enjoying beautiful ocean and sunset views from the roof deck (literally breathtaking), short walks to Poipu beach and driving into local town for ice cream. My wife and I stayed 3 weeks with our kids who are under 10 at the house in June and July. Juliana and Jim made us feel very welcomed and answered all questions or concerns in a very timely manner! The property was very clean and had everything you need to feel like you are home with different items to take to the beach for kids (to tell you the truth, it was better than I expected from the listing). There was plenty of space for kids to run around on the property, with their favorite activity being tracking lizards and geckos! We loved having a jacuzzi that we could all dip into after time at the ocean! A coconut tree right next to you as you soak and enjoy the beautiful plants and views (you can actually see a bit of the ocean from the jacuzzi). The Poipu beach is awesome and is appropriate for any age, I think we saw kids who were under a year enjoying the protected lagoon. If you walk around there is an area with small waves where kids enjoyed boogie boarding, which is a must if your kids are a bit older! On the other side of the beach there is an awesome snorkeling area with tons of beautiful fish that swim up right next to you. Make sure to grab some fish food at the local surfing store on the way to the beach, you will feel like you are swimming in the salt water aquarium with fish eating off your hands. For Luau, we went to Smith's Garden Luau, which is about 30 min away. The food was amazing! Very warm and welcoming atmosphere by the staff. It was also a great performance. Make sure to arrive early, so you can explore their beautiful grounds with tropical birds, plants and mini-villages. We also explored the different beaches around the island, like Salt Pond Park Beach, Ka'a Beach on the North Shore. However, Poipu beach was my favorite! Make sure to check out the Old town of Koloa with it's small stores and eateries. We enjoyed having Pizza at Pizetta on Koloa Rd. Kukui'ula Village Shopping Center just a few minutes driving has great shops and restaurants. We loved going there in the evening just to walk around and became frequent visitors at Lappert's for ice cream. Unfortunately I am over my character limit :) ALOHA"

  • Perfect for Kauai

"The home is much better than we expected and were pleasently suprised to find it look exactly as the picture shows. We have been fooled by pictures before from our other trips. The home was spacious and quiet, and I believe it can comfortably fit 3 people. The kitchen was great and had everything we needed for use. A grocery store is about a mile away and you can walk to the beach and get there in 15 minutes. The patio was great to lounge in on as well and hopefully next time we visit we can stay here again."

Poipu Travel Tips

Poipu Vacation Rentals on Kauai’s South Shore

On the south shore of Kauai, independent travelers looking for rental property will enjoy Poipu. Poipu vacation rentals are ideal for those seeking beach vacations with plenty to see and do each and every day. Poipu beach condos are great locations for families or groups of friends. In a Kauai lodging choice, you will find a home base for your pleasure, whatever that may be.

Poipu Vacation Rentals to Visit the Spouting Horn

It is well-known that the Hawaiian Islands are volcanic, giving visitors unique and breathtaking landscape to view. Visitors to Poipu vacation rentals find the Spouting Horn a particularly fascinating sight; this phenomenon happens with each wave but for a really stunning sight, visit at sunset. From your Kauai lodging choice, a visit to the National Tropical Botanical Garden is an educational trip. This area was founded to conserve the native flora and now covers almost 2,000 acres, with thousands of species. The Gardens, or rather the five gardens, are close to Poipu beach condos.

Poipu Beach Condos with Golf and Tennis

For those staying at Poipu vacation rentals who want sporting vacations, there are two championship golf courses and a variety of tennis courts around the area. Those seeking adventure in the water will enjoy getting out of their Kauai lodging for scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing or kayaking. The area around Poipu beach condos is filled with hiking trails.

Kauai Lodging to See the Garden Island by Sea or Air

There are some great ways to see the Garden Island that surrounds Poipu beach condos. Take an ocean tour to get some great views of the island's amazing coastline. Near your Kauai lodging choice, you'll find day cruises or, for the romantics, an evening couples-only cruise. For the thrill-seekers, an alternative view of the island can be seen from above via a helicopter trip. All this and so much more can be part of your vacation when you stay at Poipu vacation rentals.
