  • Super condo!

"This was a super condo and my family really enjoyed the time that we spent in it. It is a bit tucked away but that makes for a very quiet stay as about the only noise that you hear is from the neighbors (everyone was pretty respectful and by ten PM, it was quiet). The location is excellent, only a couple of minutes walk to the beach (the waves were probably 6-8 feet, which made for quite a bit of excitement) along with a couple of nearby restaurants (Casa di Amici is about a one minute walk across the street and it is a very good Italian restaurant while Brennecke's Beach Broiler is about a five minute walk and is located right across the street from the beach) and there are a couple of grocery stores within a 5-10 minute drive (Big Save for most items, Living Foods for specialty items and in the plaza where Living Foods is located, there are a bunch of restaurants). The condo is fully equipped with everyone that you need. You need to go up a flight of stairs to get to the front door and enter into a spacious upstairs where there is a full kitchen (all modern and up to date appliances), a dining room area (table with four chairs) and a living room room area (couch, flat screen TV, stereo). There is strong wi-fi throughout the condo. When you get downstairs (inside flight of stairs), there are two bedrooms (one with a King bed, bathroom and very small flat screen TV and the other one with two twin beds and another bathroom just outside in the hallway) along with the washer/dryer combo and a small patio. The grounds are really nice and well tended to with lots of flowers and plants along with a nice BBQ area (two nice sized BBQ's along with picnic tables), tennis courts and a pool (very refreshing). There's not much of a view from the condo but just step outside and take a walk around the area (Grand Hyatt is about 15-20 minutes away) to get plenty of gorgeous views. We had a couple of small issues when we arrived with the refrigerator but I made a quick call to the local person Terri and she was able to help me out. There are fans throughout the condo to get a nice air flow going but I do have to admit that it would have been nice to have a/c for a couple of the hotter days. However, with electricity prices being the highest in the USA, it's no surprise that a/c is hard to find. :) It was a great stay and I would definitely recommend this property."

  • Fabulous Home!

"We've stayed at a lot of homes on Kauai, but this home was absolutely amazing! Every amenity you could ask for was furnished. With five bedrooms and bathrooms, there was plenty of room for all the adults in our party. The huge porch was a favorite hangout for all of us. The location can't be beat with great sunset views. We saw so many whales off the point, we lost track. Gorgeous wood floors and granite in the kitchen and baths gave the house such a feeling of luxury. We will definitely stay here again!"

  • Wonderful Vacation Cottage by the Ocean

"Turtle Cove cottage is a delightful home in a quiet, friendly neighbourhood. It is fresh, clean, updated and tastefully decorated. As soon as we walked in we felt right at home. There are shops and restaurants within walking distance, as well as two beaches. We loved eating outside on the wraparound porch and the lounge chairs were a great spot to relax. The fans keep the cottage cool, and there are modern air conditioning units for use as well. The kitchen is very well equipped and even doing dishes is enjoyable when you can look out at the ocean through the kitchen window. (There is a dishwasher, too!) We would definitely recommend this property, and are looking forward to coming back next year!"

  • 2nd time will return again

"I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time visiting Kauai growing up and have now made it a new tradition, I hope to continue with my husband. We stayed here August 2013 for our honeymoon and now again August 2014. We own several VRBO properties and always use VRBO when traveling. From our extensive experience, I can give the unit 5 stars. Yes, there is no air conditioning, but this is common for Kauai. Open up the windows and enjoy the beautiful and healing Kauai air. Condo is nicely remodeled and still looks great. They have a few chairs, umbrella and some other items that are useful for the beach or a day trip. Kiahuna also provides chairs and towels, free of charge, at the beach hut. We enjoy cooking in the kitchen, on the nearby grill, making smoothies, virgin and non :) for the beach, etc. They have wonderful Hawaiian shampoo, conditioner and soap, so you can leave those items at home. The unit comes with toilet paper, dish washer soap, kleenex, paper towel and several other items not always stocked in a VRBO condo. Can't say anything was missing. Great price and location. Shauna is a pleasure to deal with and quick to respond. She puts forth an effort to make sure you are taken care of. They have recommendation books in the condo, etc. We will be back. Next time with a little one in tow, due in Feb :) Some of our favorite things - get fish food from Nukumoi Surf shop from Brenneckes and watch the fish go crazy. I recommend doing this over by the sand point that sticks out where the Waiohai beach and public Poipu Beach meet. Go to the right of the point and those fish know all about the food ;) Breakfast burritos are great and inexpensive at the little convenience store under Brenneckes. You can find a path with a mixture of path and street walking over to the Hyatt for live music and cocktails at Sunset on the Seaview Terrace. Or just drive. Keoki's is always great, call for live music schedule. I could go on about all the great things within walking distance from this condo, but the best part is to just walk down the grass, onto the beautiful sand and into the ocean. Also lots of running and walking paths around condo. Amazing amounts of fish and sea turtles all around Poipu. My hubby doesn't always like the sand or sun for his irish skin, so relaxing on the huge lawn at Kiahuna, under the many palm trees gives us perfect access and site to the beach as well. We be back to this unit!"

Poipu Travel Tips

Poipu Vacation Rentals on Kauai’s South Shore

On the south shore of Kauai, independent travelers looking for rental property will enjoy Poipu. Poipu vacation rentals are ideal for those seeking beach vacations with plenty to see and do each and every day. Poipu beach condos are great locations for families or groups of friends. In a Kauai lodging choice, you will find a home base for your pleasure, whatever that may be.

Poipu Vacation Rentals to Visit the Spouting Horn

It is well-known that the Hawaiian Islands are volcanic, giving visitors unique and breathtaking landscape to view. Visitors to Poipu vacation rentals find the Spouting Horn a particularly fascinating sight; this phenomenon happens with each wave but for a really stunning sight, visit at sunset. From your Kauai lodging choice, a visit to the National Tropical Botanical Garden is an educational trip. This area was founded to conserve the native flora and now covers almost 2,000 acres, with thousands of species. The Gardens, or rather the five gardens, are close to Poipu beach condos.

Poipu Beach Condos with Golf and Tennis

For those staying at Poipu vacation rentals who want sporting vacations, there are two championship golf courses and a variety of tennis courts around the area. Those seeking adventure in the water will enjoy getting out of their Kauai lodging for scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing or kayaking. The area around Poipu beach condos is filled with hiking trails.

Kauai Lodging to See the Garden Island by Sea or Air

There are some great ways to see the Garden Island that surrounds Poipu beach condos. Take an ocean tour to get some great views of the island's amazing coastline. Near your Kauai lodging choice, you'll find day cruises or, for the romantics, an evening couples-only cruise. For the thrill-seekers, an alternative view of the island can be seen from above via a helicopter trip. All this and so much more can be part of your vacation when you stay at Poipu vacation rentals.
