  • Great South Shore Spot

"This well appointed condo was a perfect fit for my wife and i along with our 3 adult children. Great ocean views and sounds from the lanai and bedroom windows. Walking distance to Poipu Beach where we used the provided snorkeling gear numerous times to view a huge variety of colorful fish. The owner was very easy to work with and provided helpful area info. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here for our mini-family reunion."

  • 10 wonderful days in Poipu

"We just got back from a great vacation in Hawaii. What a perfect choice it was to stay in Kiahuna Plantation Resort in Poipu area! The owner of the condo is wonderful, she gave us a good room rate, answered emails promptly and followed up with everything we needed anwers to. Condo is located in a perfect spot, walking distance to several great beaches, as well as to the pool and shopping center. It has a great view of the garden and you can also see the ocean. Descriptions regarding location, amenities and photos are accurate. If you want a nice place to stay and enjoy your vacation, choose this condo. I loved it and my son did too and it was very hard to leave Hawaii. We saw several Green sea turtles and a couple of endangered Munk seals on a beach in front of the resort and tons of tropical fish as well as whales. If you love nature and laid back vacation, as well as snorkling, boogy boarding, surfing or just enjoying the beach, this is the place to be! Also, you can get everywhere quickly so you can have your dose of adventure too (sailing, hiking, helicopter rides-it is all within a short half an hour drive away). Eating in Hawaii is expensive but since this condo has a completely equipped kitchen, we were able to cook. Good places to eat out: Beach house for lunch-better prices than for dinner, not so crowded; Koloa fish market for Hawaiian platters-cheap and delicious; Gaylord's for Sunday brunch; Keoki's paradise for lunch and good fish tacos; Pizzeta for pizzas and Papalani gelato for the best ice cream! And just a note, if you go to the hotel's pool across the street, you can help yourself to free soft drinks there and you can also use a brand new gym located close to the pool. The only thing I didn't like is a mandatory cleaning fee half way through the stay and also at the end but that did not ruin our vacation. These cleaning fees are the resort's rule, not the owner's. Condo was clean and well-maintained. Overall, we loved it and we will be back! And we will recommend it to our friends and family."

  • Beautiful Oceanside condo

"We found this lovely, well-furnished condo to be just as advertised. It had everything we needed for cooking and exploring the island. It was nicely decorated, very clean, comfortable bed, and beach supplies to use. But what we enjoyed most was the view from our 2nd floor lanai about 30 feet from the pounding surf. We found ourselves sitting out there with a cool drink in hand, watching the surfers, the swimming turtles, and the changing colors of the water and sky during different times of the day. The moonlight on the water was the best. There was a "super moon" that week. The location is close to restaurants and roads to anywhere on the island. Although quite expensive, the Beach House Restaurant next door is excellent and has a great view of the sunset. Although I knew it would be hot, this Minnesota girl found the upper 80's temps to be a bit too hot with no air conditioning in the condo. (Even the locals complained about the unusually hot summer.) I was thankful for the ceiling fans and 2 other fans, as well as the night time cool downs. The owner emailed detailed directions to find this place, especially appreciated since we arrived after dark, and instructions for finding the key, the hidden TV, etc. This is a beautiful island and be sure to see as much of it as you can. Although there are no resort-type of amenities at Kuhio Shores, it's a great place to stay and a great value."

Poipu Travel Tips

Poipu Vacation Rentals on Kauai’s South Shore

On the south shore of Kauai, independent travelers looking for rental property will enjoy Poipu. Poipu vacation rentals are ideal for those seeking beach vacations with plenty to see and do each and every day. Poipu beach condos are great locations for families or groups of friends. In a Kauai lodging choice, you will find a home base for your pleasure, whatever that may be.

Poipu Vacation Rentals to Visit the Spouting Horn

It is well-known that the Hawaiian Islands are volcanic, giving visitors unique and breathtaking landscape to view. Visitors to Poipu vacation rentals find the Spouting Horn a particularly fascinating sight; this phenomenon happens with each wave but for a really stunning sight, visit at sunset. From your Kauai lodging choice, a visit to the National Tropical Botanical Garden is an educational trip. This area was founded to conserve the native flora and now covers almost 2,000 acres, with thousands of species. The Gardens, or rather the five gardens, are close to Poipu beach condos.

Poipu Beach Condos with Golf and Tennis

For those staying at Poipu vacation rentals who want sporting vacations, there are two championship golf courses and a variety of tennis courts around the area. Those seeking adventure in the water will enjoy getting out of their Kauai lodging for scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing or kayaking. The area around Poipu beach condos is filled with hiking trails.

Kauai Lodging to See the Garden Island by Sea or Air

There are some great ways to see the Garden Island that surrounds Poipu beach condos. Take an ocean tour to get some great views of the island's amazing coastline. Near your Kauai lodging choice, you'll find day cruises or, for the romantics, an evening couples-only cruise. For the thrill-seekers, an alternative view of the island can be seen from above via a helicopter trip. All this and so much more can be part of your vacation when you stay at Poipu vacation rentals.
