  • Perfect unit at Kiahuna!

"We recently returned from our second stay at Susan's condo at Kiahuna - again, a perfect experience. Her unit is so well equipped, so comfortable, and has such a great island feel! The new ceiling fan in the bathroom was perfect for those days when the trade winds did not blow as strongly as usual! Being about 2-3 minutes from the beach is also wonderful - we could go back and forth with ease across the gorgeous green lawn of Kiahuna. We can only hope that each time we are fortunate enough to go to Kauai, this unit is available, because it truly is the best!!! Thanks Susan!"

  • Great unit for my family

"We enjoyed our stay at this unit very much. The place was very large and only a short walk through beautiful gardens to get to the beach. Also close to Starbucks and shopping. What else do you need on vacation? :) will stay again next time in Kauai"

  • Beautiful Location and Lovely Condo

"Top marks for professional service during booking and then again with the follow up after our stay. Very accessible condo, nicely furnished, comfy beds, beautiful view. We felt secure the whole time. We were a bit put off by 3 things: 1) There was an insane amount of dust on the silk plants in the second bedroom and bathroom. When you observe that type of cleaning oversight, you can't help but wonder what else might have been overlooked. We put the plants in a closet to keep them far away. 2) Only 1/2 a roll of toilet paper in the master bathroom and no more provided. There was an extra roll in the other bathroom. We had to buy additional toilet paper which really "bummed" us out given that is generally a supplied item. 3) We like to cook at home. However, I would like to see that the owners do a better assessment of the supplies they provide. For example, supplying Saran wrap, food storage containers (Tupperware), and maybe a few more items in addition to salt, pepper and sugar. We stay in a condo on Maui and are always delighted that there are a number of spices, tea, etc. supplied or left by previous guests. Seeing the stingy supplies, we decided against leaving the Saran wrap, teas and spices we had purchased. I think it is a goodwill gesture that will go a long way to improving the experience at the condo. The building itself is not on a beach if you are wanting to walk out and right onto sand. There is a rocky shoreline and there is a great beach a short walk along the oceanfront pathway. Because the unit is close to the Beach House Restaurant, you will experience large groups of people out front of the restaurant and lots of weddings going on. Pretty to watch but it did feel a bit like we were in a fish bowl. We would recommend this spot as it has a lot to offer to others but would caution them on the above items."

  • Location and amenities cannot be beat!

"The owners and management company have created an excellent getaway in paradise with this property. The first thing that stands out is the location. Just steps from Baby (Keiki) Beach and a lovely view of the ocean from the lanai and second "bedroom." The second best aspect to this property is how well appointed it is. Big kudos to the owners for every detail of the decor and providing everything you need for a great beach vacation - abundance of towels, shower for sand, cooler bags, picnic gear, excellent tips for restaurants and stores, plastic drinkware to take your wine or cocktail to the beach...the list goes on. We cooked nearly every night, and I rarely could not find the right "gadget" or serving dish for my preparations. Also, the management company was super helpful. We had some out-of-the-ordinary needs (due to the possibility a hurricane might hit during our stay!), and they didn't hesitate to assist and come up with solutions. Finally, I have to mention the location again. Not just for the beach, but for the proximity to the new(er) shopping center, great restaurants (highly recommend Merriman's and the Beach House), and scenic running routes. We could start each day with a quick 3-mile run to Spouting Horn and back, enjoying views of the ocean along the way. There is one thing about this property I wish I had known before arriving, however. The second "bedroom" is really a nook off a second sitting area. You enclose the room by closing a pocket door and accordion doors. Also, the bedrooms are not fully enclosed. They have open ceilings. This is a consideration if you have young children who go down for naps or bed early. You will need to be quiet since the sound can carry from room to room. We made it work - we had our 20-month daughter stay in the master bedroom and my husband and I took the "nook" bedroom. The layout ultimately was not an issue. I was just initially surprised because I had expected 2 real bedrooms. Overall, I highly recommend this property."
