  • The best lanai ever and lovely condo in Poipu!

"This condo was fabulous! The lanai had the best view ever and we saw turtles, dolphins, and whales pretty much every day we were there. With a comfy couch and seats, plus a table and chairs for eating, we spent more time out there than inside. The sunsets were amazing. We slept with the windows open and the sound of crashing waves was so soothing. The condo was clean and well-maintained and had all the cooking gear we needed. The toy closet had boogie boards, some beach chairs, mats, etc. It was comfortable inside as well, the beds were fine, nice looking TV (that we never used because Kauai has so much to do!), comfy living room seating, and adequate wifi. It's not huge but it was perfectly fine for two adults and two teenagers. The owners were very nice though once we choose the place, from then on we dealt with Parrish management and they were friendly as well. The condo was well situated for us. Brenneke beach was a short walk, Poipu beach a little further and you can walk to it if you aren't carrying too much gear or with small children. But it was only a couple of minutes to drive to it with our stuff and Poipu beach was totally awesome, especially for novice snorkelers like us. So many gorgeous fish right close to shore! There were plenty of nice restaurants within a very short drive, and Sueoka or Big Save for groceries, and easy access to roads to take you around the island. We especially enjoyed Keoki's Paradise and Puka Dog and Jo Jo's Shave Ice while in Kauai. We would definitely return to this condo and highly recommend it!"

  • Heaven on Earth

"We absolutely loved our stay--the condo was nicer than we expected. It is two floors- the bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and laundry are upstairs. As others have stated, everything you need is there including coolers, beach chairs, tupperware and there was even a big bag of ice in the freezer. Nice flat screen tv in the living room and master bedroom as well. I can not do justice to the views, crashing waves and the large sea turtles and seals in the cove right in view from our balcony or the pool. The manager was extremely nice and helpful as well. We will definitely be returning. Kauai is a beautiful place but the condo made our vacation even better!"

  • Great location, comfortable apartment

"We stayed here with our daughter and son-in-law for a week. The apartment, which was immaculately clean, is very well-outfitted for 4 people, and the free wifi is excellent. Cooking a full dinner is a bit of a challenge, especially since two of the burners on the electric stove were out (they're going to fix that), and not a whole lot of pans, but it's fine for breakfast and lunch. There are plenty of glasses, dishes, and silverware. The ceiling and standing fans usually kept the place cool (once we figured out how to use the remotes), although in the hot weather, the ocean view deck is too hot for sunset -- perfect for breakfast though. The beds are very comfortable and there's plenty of storage space. Lots of towels, including beach towels; beach chairs, boogie boards, etc. Cable t.v. works fine. Vicky was very helpful and welcoming. You can walk to Brenecke Beach, which can be a bit rough. The swimming is better at Poipu Beach, a few minute drive away. Try the Plantation Garden restaurant for a moderately priced upscale meal. We loved the Blue Dolphin Na Pali adventure zodiac ride, and the hiking at Waimea and along the coast. Such a gorgeous island, you can't go wrong. But do bring a rain jacket: it may be "the sunny side" of the island but it does rain, sometimes for more than a day, even outside the rainy season. The Scrabble set was most appreciated!"

  • The perfect place to stay.

"We have just returned from a fabulous 12 day trip to Kauai and we are so glad we stayed at Hale Hokuu TOO (2 adults, 2 teenagers). The house is beautiful, spacious and very comfortable and relaxing. Check out the art work - most of it was painted by Gale and is perfect for the house. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is also an outdoor grill by the pool. We kept meaning to grill supper but never quite got around to it - we went onto island time very quickly and ate out most evenings! There are plenty of places to eat in Poipu and also in Holoa, which is a very nice town with great ice cream at Lamperts and is also very good for gifts. The view from the house is absolutely amazing. I loved having coffee on the lanai in the morning, watching the turtles and boats and I loved having a glass of wine sitting on the lanai in the evening watching the sun go down. Another reviewer mentioned that the pool was not heated - perhaps it wasn't, but I swam most mornings before breakfast and nearly every afternoon which was really nice (I hate cold water and would not have gone in if it wasn't warm enough). We didn't need to use the AC and made use of nature by opening the doors and windows - there is a nice breeze that you can take advantage of. The gardens are beautiful and we met Wilson, the gardener, who was very pleasant (Gale had informed us he was coming and it wasn't an issue for us - the teens slept through him working!) Gale was extremely helpful contacting us on our arrival and advised us on the best place to buy groceries - the nearest grocery store is fairly expensive. Yes, there are a few reminders around the house about how to use things etc, but that's what keeps the house nice and in good working order. We visited Waimea Canyon, the North Shore, Spouting Horn (the little craft market there is good) and took several excursions out of Lihue area (a helicopter trip, tubing the Sugar Cane canals and an amazing canoe/hike/swim by a waterfall trip where everybody gets very muddy but has a lot of fun. The house is perfect for day trips and also there is plenty to do in the Poipu area or just relaxing by the pool. I would definitely recommend staying here and would love to return again. I already miss going to sleep listening to the sound of the sea and I miss the roosters crowing too! Mahalo Gale."

Poipu Travel Tips

Poipu Vacation Rentals on Kauai’s South Shore

On the south shore of Kauai, independent travelers looking for rental property will enjoy Poipu. Poipu vacation rentals are ideal for those seeking beach vacations with plenty to see and do each and every day. Poipu beach condos are great locations for families or groups of friends. In a Kauai lodging choice, you will find a home base for your pleasure, whatever that may be.

Poipu Vacation Rentals to Visit the Spouting Horn

It is well-known that the Hawaiian Islands are volcanic, giving visitors unique and breathtaking landscape to view. Visitors to Poipu vacation rentals find the Spouting Horn a particularly fascinating sight; this phenomenon happens with each wave but for a really stunning sight, visit at sunset. From your Kauai lodging choice, a visit to the National Tropical Botanical Garden is an educational trip. This area was founded to conserve the native flora and now covers almost 2,000 acres, with thousands of species. The Gardens, or rather the five gardens, are close to Poipu beach condos.

Poipu Beach Condos with Golf and Tennis

For those staying at Poipu vacation rentals who want sporting vacations, there are two championship golf courses and a variety of tennis courts around the area. Those seeking adventure in the water will enjoy getting out of their Kauai lodging for scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing or kayaking. The area around Poipu beach condos is filled with hiking trails.

Kauai Lodging to See the Garden Island by Sea or Air

There are some great ways to see the Garden Island that surrounds Poipu beach condos. Take an ocean tour to get some great views of the island's amazing coastline. Near your Kauai lodging choice, you'll find day cruises or, for the romantics, an evening couples-only cruise. For the thrill-seekers, an alternative view of the island can be seen from above via a helicopter trip. All this and so much more can be part of your vacation when you stay at Poipu vacation rentals.
