  • Beach Proximity, Great Value

"This gets a 5 star review not because it is a 5 star accommodation, but because it is everything it says it is, with great location and price. A small studio (like a large hotel room) with a small(ish) bathroom, a full kitchen including all utensils, a sliding glass door out to a 2 person hot tub. Really only steps from the beach (you walk past 2 houses to get to Poipu Beach Park). All of your Poipu activities are close by. Brenneke's is a block away but you can't hear it at night. The Poipu shopping malls are about 1 or 1.5 miles away, which makes for a nice evening walk. No air conditioning, which is fine in the winter, but I wonder how it will be in summer. There were roosters crowing in the early morning two of our four nights, so if you're a very light sleeper this could get annoying. The space was perfect for two, and the location was excellent if you want to be right near the resorts but not pay the resort fees."

  • Came for the sunshine

"We loved our stay at Kahala 214, and wouldn't hesitate to book this again. It was close to a farmers market that was open Monday-Saturday. We loved how close it was to the ocean, and truly enjoyed those gorgeous sunsets. The unit was clean and comfortable, and well-stocked with puzzles and books. We loved watching tennis, and the courts were always full. My brother and I even tried an hour of tennis one morning - it was easy to rent raquets right on site. The pool and hot tub were steps away. The Aqua-size classes were Mon/Wed/Fri and were free and the group was very friendly and welcoming. There was yoga near the beach on the grass on Tues/Thurs/Sat mornings for $15 a class and the instructor brings the mats and props. I loved doing yoga outdoors with them. The condo had good parking, and it was easy to get around the island from this location. We loved our stay here."

  • Paradise

"We stayed six nights at Hale Kua and loved it! It's very private, but a short (15-20 minute) drive from Poipu and Koloa, so we found it very convenient. The view off of the lanai is wonderful, and the owners Cathy and Bill were delightful! We had a really nice time talking with them, and they have done a great job of making Hale Kua a comfortable getaway. The cottage itself is very clean and feels new. The kitchen does not have a full oven/cook range, but there are three hotplates (one two-burner and one one-burner) and the microwave is the kind that also does convection oven cooking (we had one of these when we lived in Japan). There are many appliances (coffee maker, blender, electric kettle, etc.) and we also used the BBQ grill, which was very easy to use. Our favorite things about our stay were: the privacy/quiet the view from the lanai the location (close to everything without being in the middle of everything) the tangerine and grapefruit trees the value I would happily stay here again and will recommend it to others. Another great VRBO find."

  • Is Super Excellent a rating?

"Because that's ours! We have been married 38 years, and this was BY FAR the most relaxing, enjoyable vacation we have ever had! Pam has everything you could ever want at BB2...as a matter of fact, we were so impressed that we had a game one night trying to find something she didn't have and couldn't! The bungalow was spotless...we cooked three of our 8 nights (hey, I was on vacation!), and everything I needed, right down to the spices, was there. The location across the street from Baby Beach was perfect...we were there everyday, even when we had an activity or had a drive. It just draws you back!. Beach towels, chairs, boogie boards, noodles, sand toys for kids, beach shoes...she even has insect spray (which we did not need---didn't see a mosquito)! Pam was so wonderful to work with and truly cares that your visit is special. We have rented a lot of houses--probably 25 over the years, and Baby Beach cat visit so we could love her...Pam provides the cat food to feed her, too! Thank you, Pam, for a wonderful experience!
