"We (3) had an absolutely fantastic stay at Tradewinds cottage. It was quiet, private and safe. Lovely huge private yard. i had a rental bike and there was great cycling all around the neighborhood, plus the hiway had a really wide shoulder, and when it left beach front the hiway was not busy.. a 1 hour ride gets you to the very end of the paved road. It was close to town to run for groceries/beer. Close to a great safe beach. My 80 year old mom LOVED the hot tub!!..private and fenced.. enjoyed drinking wine under the stars. The kitchen and laundry facilities were terrific, beds were comfy. Linens/towels excellent. Owner Scott couldn't have been more accommodating. We were out and about everyday doing excursions but were so happy to get home to our quiet relaxing home away from home. Total thumbs up for Tradewinds Cottage. Jean Katie and Mae"

"My wife and I recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary on the sunny, west side of Kaua'i. This turned into the dream vacation for us from the moment we set eyes on the Hale' Laguna. The location is absolutely fabulous. There are spacious upper and lower decks from which I could literally throw a stone into the ocean. The ocean tides afforded 40-50 feet of soft, sandy beach directly in front of the home. After using chairs, boogie boards, and other beach gear provided with the home we showered off at the outdoor shower prior to entering the home.
Once inside the home you will find it is obvious the owners spared no expense in making this home comfortable. The interior design and decorations are impeccably perfect for this beach scene. Master rooms and on-suites on both levels are beautiful. Living areas on both levels are comfortable and serene. Linens and towels are high quality fabric. The fully stocked kitchen and outdoor gas grill made it easy to produce any meal, and - most importantly - refreshing Pina Coladas!
Perhaps the most memorable of all was sleeping to the sound of crashing waves, waking to a stunning view, observing awesome sunsets, and gazing at starry night skies. Although there really is no need to go anywhere, the drive to enjoy the island's sightseeing and tourist activities was only 30-60 minutes, which we found to be very pleasant. Returning home to the Hale' Laguna made it all the better.
I would sum it all up with a breathtaking WOW! -- Enjoy --we certainly did!"

"The rooms are very clean and extremely comfortable. If you are looking to sit on the beach, relax and watch the sunset every night, this is the perfect rental. It is a short, one block walk, and your feet are already in the sand! I have been to Kauai on 3 different trips and this location is the best. Completely away from the road noise and crowds on the east side. It is also super close to either road up to Waimea Canyon and the Kalalau Valley lookout. If it is cloudy one day, you can just drive up again the next!! This house has EVERYTHING, down to a cheese grater and ice cream scoop. (which we used every day!) Unlike most rentals that do not have more than 4 forks. Washer, dryer, clothes line, grill, beach towels and chairs…the list goes on and on and on. Cannot wait to rent this one again!!!"

"I hesitate to be honest because I really don't want this property to be booked to the point that we never get to stay there again. I read reviews where people said they didn't want to go see the Island because they didn't want to leave the house. Now I totally get that. Words cannot adequately describe the way this house created such a calming atmosphere for my family. We traveled with our 3 adult children and their spouses and there were so many spaces to relax that everyone felt like they had their own space to get away. We absolutely love this side of the island. We liked traveling to see the other areas of Kauai but always looked forward to getting back to the house. Waimea was our favorite town. This little town has great restaurants and is so close to several nice beaches that are more secluded. Salt Pond beach was our favorite. Our home was very peaceful and quiet. The view of the ocean from the master bedrooms was amazing. The sunsets were incredible. The house is extremely well equipped. We LOVED the lanais and stayed on them throughout our visit. They were so well furnished and had enough seating for all 8 of us. We enjoyed the home so much that we never even turned the TV on. I have rented properties from VRBO for years and this is by far the best place we have ever stayed in."
