  • FABULOUS rental home

"I want to start off with I have to say I was slightly nervous about renting a home from VRBO on the other side of the country, I live in NJ. I doubled checked to make sure the home was registered as a rental home with State of Kauai. It was, as stated in the listing. No reason other than I live so far away and always make sure there aren’t any issues when I rent private homes. This was the first time to the Hawaiian Islands for my husband and me. We have traveled in Caribbean in past. I have to say although the Caribbean has a beautiful coast line usually the beauty ends there. I will start with the rental home. This house has EVERYTHING you would need for your vacation. Kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could think a person would need. Plenty pots, pans, utensils, appliances, extra sheets and towels, beach towels, pillow cases, etc. . My husband and I were there for 10 days and all those things were nice to have. Beach chairs, snorkel gear, boogie boards, coolers… I have to say we were impressed by how well the house was stocked with items that we wanted and or needed for our stay. Home was CLEAN… The island of Kauai is the most beautiful island I have EVER visited to date. Mountains, flowering trees everywhere, water, beaches…. The North cost is AMAZING… I can’t believe how beautiful it is… The cliffs go into the clouds. My husband and I hiked into the North Side Mountains on Kalalau Trail. AMAZING… And then onto Sleeping Giant the next day.. Not and easy hike, but the views are going to last a lifetime… Took the Na Pali Explorer boat tour in Waimea http://www.napaliexplorer.com/ THIS WAS AMAZING… Soooooo beautiful…….. They take you down to the Na Pali coast, into sea caves. Awesome spots to snorkel .. It was a trip of a lifetime.. LOVED IT… Jason the Captain was so informative about the history of the land we were impressed. .. And Brandon the boat crew was so accommodating .M aking sure we didn’t need anything. We also visited the beaches, which were ALL beautiful, saw Monk Seals, giant turtles… AWWW so fabulous. Wish we saw whales, but wrong season. Also did the Smith Family Garden Luau.. Was also amazing and Fabulous.. Tour, then a unearthing of the pig and history lesson on the process then a feast… DELISH..YUMMM… Then onto the show… WOW.. So FABULOUS.. http://www.smithskauai.com/luau.html .. So basically we loved out vacation and wishing we were back in Kauai .. Great house, Great Island, Great people… LOVED IT…"

  • FAR EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS! GREAT PLACE TO STAY!

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Chad was easy to work with and gave us helpful tips for our stay. The house had so many extras (like snorkeling equipment and beach chairs) that came in handy and saved us a lot of time and money. The sound of the ocean lulled us to sleep every night, and the town is within walking distance. We spent most days at Salt Pond Beach--stunning and close by. The Shrimp Shack is a do not miss. Also be sure to go to Waimea Canyon. We went twice during our week-long visit. The stargazing from the beach in front of the house is amazing! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!!"

  • Best house on Kauai!

"Blue Lotus was the perfect place to stay for a perfect vacation. With a short walk to the beach, it was really hard to not go down to the beach for each sunrise and sunset, taking in the stuff that truly matters in life. The house itself was perfect! It was extremely clean when i got there and other than groceries, I had all the amenities I could possibly want. Down to the smallest kitchen utensil, everything I needed was provided for me. The neighbors were kind and extremely quiet, making it so I could fall asleep to the sound of the ocean every evening. If you are looking for a vacation home away from the crowds of tourists and really appreciate the beauty of Kauai (beach on one side, Waimea Canyon the other!) this is easily the place you want to go to. I'm looking forward to booking Blue Lotus again in the near future and feeling part of the community."

  • Wonderful cozy place to relax

"My husband and I spent 3 nights at Mindys. It was our first time staying on the west side of the island as we wanted to have easy access to Waimea Canyon. We were not disappointed. The apartment was perfect for the 2 of us -- well stocked and very tastefully and thoughtfully decorated. We cooked in all three nights and enjoyed sitting on the deck. Mindy and Dave are warm and genuine -- they enjoy talking and sharing with their guests. We enjoying having a good chinwag (talk) with Dave about the garden and composting! And Mindy's muffins are delicious!"
