  • South Kauai Kekaha

"Had a wonderful time at Pam & Kevin's ocean view house. The place was clean and comfortable, the view of the ocean and waves fantastic! Pam and Kevin were both very friendly & helpful and we borrowed a mountain bike of theirs along with a surfboard. There is a surf break, Davidson's within walking distance that was fun but choppy when we were there because of the trade winds. There is also a better break about 7-8 minutes away by car, Pekala's which is a great left and protected from the trade winds. Waimea canyon access road is just a couple of minutes away by car to some fantastic hiking."

  • Exceeded Our Expectations!

"If you're like me, you have experienced disappointment upon arriving at the rental or resort of a well-planned vacation - that will NOT happen to you with this house! As soon as you open the door of Shaka Hale, you feel as though you are being welcomed into the lovely home of a friend. It is beautifully decorated; elegant, yet comfortable. Nothing has been overlooked to ensure that your stay is anything but enjoyable: fully equipped kitchen, outdoor grill, plenty of linens (including beach towels), quality mattresses/bed linens, washer/dryer and 2nd refrigerator in the garage - we even discovered multiple beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkeling sets and boogie boards. A pleasant surprise! My family of 4 (including 2 teenage boys over 6') was joined by 4 other adult family members - and we never felt crowded. The 2 separate living areas and multiple lanais provided personal space for those who wanted to relax or read, yet the roomy, open floor plan downstairs allowed us to gather for meals and plan our next day of adventure! A road separates the house from the ocean, but the landscaping you see in the picture provides a buffer - as well as a path to the long, sandy beach that awaits your morning walks :). We never had rain on this sunny side of the island during our stay, though you probably will get wet if you visit the East or North shores. This house is conveniently located to Waimea Canyon, and it's an easy drive to the beaches and restaurants in Poipu, Spouting Horn and the Allerton Gardens. We actually appreciated being able to return to our quiet "neighborhood" after a full day of sightseeing or adventure and enjoy a glass of wine on one of the lanais, watching the sun set over the ocean :). Must-dos: snorkeling at one of the many beaches in Poipu, Waimea Canyon, Napali Coast boat tour, North Shore (how many shades of green are there?!), shave ice at Hee Fat in Kapa'a, Allerton Gardens (bring bug spray!), air tour, sunset dinner at The Beach House. Last, but not least, Chad (rental agent) is amazing to work with! From my first inquiry he was very responsive, generous with his time, and went out of his way to be informative and helpful - ensuring that our stay would be memorable. He even facilitated having a "happy first anniversary" sign I made being hung in the house to greet my niece before our arrival! Our experience was that we weren't just another "transaction" to him. Shaka Hale - and Kauai - awaits you . . . :)"

  • Great Home for Kauai Stays.

"Hale Anuenue is an awesome home. It was perfect for my stay on the west side of Kauai. Here for work, I was close to Barking Sands and only 75 yards from the longest stretch of beach on the island. Yes, the west side beach is back and much better this year than last. I eat every meal on the back lanai which is surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers. Listening to the waves while reading is so relaxing and perfect when sleeping. The kitchen is stocked with every kitchen tool needed to create any meal one could think of(seared Ahi is a good place to start). Evening walks along the beach do no disappoint, sunsets on this side of the island are by far the best. I will be looking to stay here on future trips."

  • Kala Beach Cottage

"My sister stayed at this lovely cottage a year ago so when we planned our vacation getaway we chose the same cottage due to her positive experience. The cottage is well furnished and equipped with everything you need. It's a home away from home. We utilized all of the beach supplies (chairs, towels, sand toys for the kids) and snorkeling gear. You can't beat a one minute walk from the to what was our own seemingly private beach. Salt pond beach had the best place to snorkel with the reef that keeps the water calm. The backyard is perfect to relax. Fruit trees flowering trees on the property are stunning. We are sure to revisit the cottage. Mahalo!"
