  • Our first vacation rental

"Wow, where do we begin! We booked this cottage because my husband and I brought my parents with us to celebrate their 30 year wedding anniversary. Let me just say that it did not disappoint. Upon stepping into the cottage, we were stunned at how big and wide open it was. It had everything we had hoped for and more! The kitchen was fully equipped, and had a seperate dining and living room that connected to a wide open area which was great. The bedrooms were MUCH bigger than we anticipated, and the master bedroom had a door that connected to the back patio with a very big hot tub that was ready to be used. The whole cottage exceeded all of our expectations. Beds were very cozy and the ceiling fans kept the house in a very comfortable temperature the entire time. The bathroom had plenty of towels and even some beach towels if you needed them. The yard had all kinds of fruit trees, like oranges, limes, and avacodos. It was amazing! The location was southwest of the island which was the dryer side that stayed mainly sunny. It was very close to Port Allen (about 10 miles) where if you booked Napali coast cruise, it was a short drive, and Salt Pond Park where there is a nice beach to just relax at. The town of Waimea is only a few miles away. The ocean was literally right across the street within a footballs field length. My husband and I after our first night, woke up early and walked along the road next to the beach and watched the sunrise. It was very beautiful. We would absolutely without a doubt stay here again when we return to Kauai someday. Our rental property manager Scott was very easy to work with, and was always in touch if we needed anything or had any questions or concerns. Looking forward to returning again one day. Mahalo! • Loved this house and the location

"This house is beautiful and spacious and right across the street from the ocean. The sound of the waves lull you to sleep at night. It's very close to the Waimea Canyon, which is a must see on Kauai. It has a large kitchen, big dining area that we didn't even use because we loved the table out on the deck, a nice yard with a tiki-bar outside, nice sized bedrooms with window fans and ceiling fans, each bedroom has it's own bathroom. The laundry room is super handy to have on vacation too - pack less. They even have an outdoor shower that is pretty private. The yard is beautiful as well. We took advantage of their beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, sand mats, etc. Lots of toys. The kitchen was stocked with a lot of condiments. The house sits in a quiet little neighborhood, not real close to a lot of dining, but not too far either. Somewhat close to Art Night's in Hannepepe (Friday nights), and the grocery stores and restaurants in Waimea. We love this part of Kauai - very little rain to worry about. Polihale State Park is close - a must see too - beautiful beach, very few people, great views of the Napali coast. Patrick was a great host and we hope to return to this house again next year!"

  • Launch Pad for Adventure

"We are an active family who like to get outside the fray of life. This cottage was the perfect spot to do it. Our kids ages 12 and 6 fell in love with the place and all it had to offer (as did we adults!). The outdoor shower, well stocked kitchen, cozy bedrooms and living room, fantastic deck where we took all our dinners, and yard where we lounged and hunted lizards all came together to wrap us in comfort. Our adventures included visiting the Hindu monastery and the sacred forest, hiking the Kuilau Ridge Trail, exploring the Sinkhole and hunting tortoises, hiking the Heritage trail, kayaking the Wailua river then hiking to the Uluwehi falls, hiking the phenomenal Waimea Canyon including the breathtaking Alakai Swamp, visiting the HOT Polihale Beach (look for the goats!), and each day spending time at the awesome Salt Pond Beach...usually with take-out from the Taco Stand! The snorkeling here was fantastic on the left end (facing the ocean) and we even lounged with a Monk Seal - at a respectful distance of course! Our kids spend a lot of time in our beautiful British Columbia forests but I think we may have some stiff competition with the beautiful island of Kauai now! Thank you for the amazing home for a week Pam and Mike!"

  • Exceeded Our Expectations!

"If you're like me, you have experienced disappointment upon arriving at the rental or resort of a well-planned vacation - that will NOT happen to you with this house! As soon as you open the door of Shaka Hale, you feel as though you are being welcomed into the lovely home of a friend. It is beautifully decorated; elegant, yet comfortable. Nothing has been overlooked to ensure that your stay is anything but enjoyable: fully equipped kitchen, outdoor grill, plenty of linens (including beach towels), quality mattresses/bed linens, washer/dryer and 2nd refrigerator in the garage - we even discovered multiple beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkeling sets and boogie boards. A pleasant surprise! My family of 4 (including 2 teenage boys over 6') was joined by 4 other adult family members - and we never felt crowded. The 2 separate living areas and multiple lanais provided personal space for those who wanted to relax or read, yet the roomy, open floor plan downstairs allowed us to gather for meals and plan our next day of adventure! A road separates the house from the ocean, but the landscaping you see in the picture provides a buffer - as well as a path to the long, sandy beach that awaits your morning walks :). We never had rain on this sunny side of the island during our stay, though you probably will get wet if you visit the East or North shores. This house is conveniently located to Waimea Canyon, and it's an easy drive to the beaches and restaurants in Poipu, Spouting Horn and the Allerton Gardens. We actually appreciated being able to return to our quiet "neighborhood" after a full day of sightseeing or adventure and enjoy a glass of wine on one of the lanais, watching the sun set over the ocean :). Must-dos: snorkeling at one of the many beaches in Poipu, Waimea Canyon, Napali Coast boat tour, North Shore (how many shades of green are there?!), shave ice at Hee Fat in Kapa'a, Allerton Gardens (bring bug spray!), air tour, sunset dinner at The Beach House. Last, but not least, Chad (rental agent) is amazing to work with! From my first inquiry he was very responsive, generous with his time, and went out of his way to be informative and helpful - ensuring that our stay would be memorable. He even facilitated having a "happy first anniversary" sign I made being hung in the house to greet my niece before our arrival! Our experience was that we weren't just another "transaction" to him. Shaka Hale - and Kauai - awaits you . . . :)"

Kekaha Travel Tips

Relax in Kekaha Vacation Rentals

Kekaha vacation rentals are a reality for visitors looking for a place to lay their weary heads during their Kauai travel. Kekaha is an area located on the island of Kauai and Kekaha Beach is a popular attraction for visitors to the area. The white sandy beaches stretch for miles and for those who do not wish to sunbathe or frolic in the water, Kekaha is also a popular fishing spot.

Kekaha Vacation Rentals Offer Comfort and Convenience

Kekaha vacation rentals offer the comfort and convenience of a private residence. While Kekaha Beach is a popular spot, it is still a beach that is unspoiled by noisy crowds, so is the perfect complement to beach goers who are on vacation to relax. Kekaha beach rentals sit steps from beach access, with some condominiums and single-family homes offering views of the red tint that the beach water often takes on in Kekaha Beach. Most Kekaha vacation rentals offer kitchens that are fully equipped, furnished living room and dining room areas and private one, two or more bedrooms.

Things to Do In Kekaha

Kekaha offers plenty of amenities inside of your vacation rental, but there are also a variety of activities to enjoy outside of it too. Outdoors sporting activities such as swimming, surfing, body boarding, fishing and paddling are but a few of the water activities visitors of all ages can enjoy. Walks on the beach—especially during the sunrise and sunset—are other popular activities to enjoy the beautiful Hawaiian weather. Families flock to Kekaha for its pristine beaches, tight-knit community and other family-friendly activities. As the fourth largest island in Hawaii, you always have the option to venture out to other parts of the island for kayaking on the Wailua River, visiting other beaches such as Poipu Beach or hiking in Kokee State Park.
