"We (3) had an absolutely fantastic stay at Tradewinds cottage. It was quiet, private and safe. Lovely huge private yard. i had a rental bike and there was great cycling all around the neighborhood, plus the hiway had a really wide shoulder, and when it left beach front the hiway was not busy.. a 1 hour ride gets you to the very end of the paved road. It was close to town to run for groceries/beer. Close to a great safe beach. My 80 year old mom LOVED the hot tub!!..private and fenced.. enjoyed drinking wine under the stars. The kitchen and laundry facilities were terrific, beds were comfy. Linens/towels excellent. Owner Scott couldn't have been more accommodating. We were out and about everyday doing excursions but were so happy to get home to our quiet relaxing home away from home. Total thumbs up for Tradewinds Cottage. Jean Katie and Mae"

"Wow! The home and the setting are just grand. This was the perfect 1 week getaway for our family. We have four kids age 7 and under. They loved the hot tub and Neil's kitty cat. My wife and I loved the views and the fully capable kitchen. The grill was also a plus, because the options for eating out on the southwest coast are a little limited. Neil is a superb property manager and a very nice person. We inadvertently left behind my daughter's "puppy blanket." Neil found it and mailed it back to us just a few days later. The Xbox was a nice addition, but the kids were having so much fun with everything else, they forgot about it within a day.
Note: a wire fence runs along the entire length of the property abutting the beach, and there is no gate. You'd either have to hop the fence (challenging, and I'm not sure that's okay with the owner), or you'd have to walk out the driveway and south down the road for about 50 yards to the public opening to the beach.
Also of note: We loved having our toddlers with us, but if you have little ones, and plan to travel the island extensively, get a rental vehicle with an entertainment system.
We'd definitely love to stay here again!"

"This was an excellent vacation rental!!! We were attending a wedding in Kekaha for the weekend and the closest hotel/resort to the wedding location was about 30 mins away. So instead of doing a drive after the wedding festivities, we decided to take our chances by finding a vacation rental near by. We have NEVER done a vacation rental before and weren't really sure what to expect. So we were really surprised when we arrived at this cute vacation rental that had a lot more than we expected. The kitchen was fully stocked with the necessary tools and utensils to cook full meals, there was a washer and a dryer available, beach chairs and coolers that came in handy when we ventured to the beach, beach towels and so much more. The pictures and descriptions were on key for this listing. We would totally do this again but probably stay longer to really make use of this vacation rental!!"
