"When we decided to see all parts of Kauai on a two week vacation, the west side was on our radar. What a spot, we found! Grassy yard for front hand springs, outdoor kitchen to die for, and the sunsets will blow your mind! Plus, 400 yards to the east, is a great baby beach. We loved it! The lanai is exceptional, and Patrick is too! Enjoy future vacationers!"

  • Fantastic House

"We couldn't have been happier with the house. We stayed for 12 nights, had our 10 yr old, 2 yr old and Grandma. The downstairs worked perfect for my Mom. It was like her own apartment. It has a living room and table area and of course the bed and bath. Also has a door that shuts it off for privacy. The house is just as described. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The master bed was very comfortable. There were towels and beach toys we could use also, including a boogie board that my son never went without. The view is beautiful, looking out at the ocean. If you want to be away from the crowds this is the place to be. The only downfall was the location being pretty far from everything we wanted to do which was go to a beach that was baby friendly. The ones we like were in Poipu and that was a 40 min drive eachway. So we spent way too much time in the car but we knew going in it was remote. But as far as the house it was terrific. I would recommend, and the owners were very easy to work with."

  • Great spot, excellent owner

"We stayed at this location for 4 nights and we found the accommodations to be well appointed, the location superb for getting around the west and south side of the island (Waimea Canyon, Polihale, Salt Pond, and Poipu Beaches) and the attentiveness of the owner to be excellent. We encountered a breaker being flipped for the kitchen due to an electrician forgetting to turn it back on after working on an outside light. We turned it back on and everything was is working order. Still, the owner wanted to make sure and sent out an electrician just to be double sure about the working order of everything. In short, she was very attentive and we could not ask for a better owner. We will rent this house again."

  • Fantastic!

"We (3) had an absolutely fantastic stay at Tradewinds cottage. It was quiet, private and safe. Lovely huge private yard. i had a rental bike and there was great cycling all around the neighborhood, plus the hiway had a really wide shoulder, and when it left beach front the hiway was not busy.. a 1 hour ride gets you to the very end of the paved road. It was close to town to run for groceries/beer. Close to a great safe beach. My 80 year old mom LOVED the hot tub!!..private and fenced.. enjoyed drinking wine under the stars. The kitchen and laundry facilities were terrific, beds were comfy. Linens/towels excellent. Owner Scott couldn't have been more accommodating. We were out and about everyday doing excursions but were so happy to get home to our quiet relaxing home away from home. Total thumbs up for Tradewinds Cottage. Jean Katie and Mae"
