  • Great time; great place.

"My wife and I stayed at the Blue Lotus from Jan. 27th through Feb. 26th. We have had hit and miss luck with VRBO properties, but, this was a definite hit. The pictures show you exactly what you get (with one caveat) only the property is cleaner than what you can see. The one caveat, the property is directly across the street from a school and a church. The view of the ocean from the lanai is cropped so that you can't see them. However, this does not detract from the properties overall appeal. We have stayed in Kekaha several times and this is the nicest property we have been at. As others have mentioned, the house is well stocked. Since we were there for so long we did quite a bit of cooking at the house. The BBQ works great and is in good shape. The layout of the kitchen is convenient. Laundry soap was provided and the washer and dryer are in good repair, also. The beds are very comfortable, as advertised. The location worked great for us since we don't need to be close to the touristy areas. The road to access the Waimea Canyon is very close. There was also a farmers market every Saturday morning, close by, that we visited weekly. If you play tennis take your gear if you can as there are courts that are in good shape nearby, also. The neighbors next door are very nice people, but, they had 7 or 8 dogs while we were there, and they (the dogs) get pretty yappy sometimes. If you are only there for a week you'll never notice it, however, because you'll be off sightseeing during the day and the dogs shut up once the owners come home. If we make it back to Kauai again, this is where we will try to stay!!"

  • Girls week

"This house is just as described. Very private with gorgeous views of the ocean. Spent hours on the lanai. Came for a girls week but would be great for families as well. Great beaches close by. Best weather on the island on the west side."

  • Best Vacation Rental Ever!

"I hesitate to be honest because I really don't want this property to be booked to the point that we never get to stay there again. I read reviews where people said they didn't want to go see the Island because they didn't want to leave the house. Now I totally get that. Words cannot adequately describe the way this house created such a calming atmosphere for my family. We traveled with our 3 adult children and their spouses and there were so many spaces to relax that everyone felt like they had their own space to get away. We absolutely love this side of the island. We liked traveling to see the other areas of Kauai but always looked forward to getting back to the house. Waimea was our favorite town. This little town has great restaurants and is so close to several nice beaches that are more secluded. Salt Pond beach was our favorite. Our home was very peaceful and quiet. The view of the ocean from the master bedrooms was amazing. The sunsets were incredible. The house is extremely well equipped. We LOVED the lanais and stayed on them throughout our visit. They were so well furnished and had enough seating for all 8 of us. We enjoyed the home so much that we never even turned the TV on. I have rented properties from VRBO for years and this is by far the best place we have ever stayed in."

  • Sweet Retreat

"This house is just as nice as it looks in the pictures. It is in a quiet area very near a spectacular beach. a brief walk to water's edge puts you in a spot for some of the best sunsets you will ever experience. While you're waiting for the sun to go down use your binoculars to watch humpback whales just offshore. The house itself is charming and very well maintained. As others have mentioned it has many supplies and sundries that make it seem like you are staying at a friends home. The area is not the glamorous ,artificially manicured Hawaii that you get at the big posh resorts. It has real Hawaiian life going on all around you in what is closer to a country setting. Read the comments section carefully to get accurate information. There are some good nuggets there. We very much hope to return!"
