  • Can't wait to visit again!

"Everything was as described. Enjoyed ourselves immensely and location could not have been better. The on-island manager was very helpful, friendly and informative! Thank you. We never once turned on the TV in the entire 2 weeks. Enjoyed the lanai/yard to the fullest. We would pack lunches and spend entire afternoons at Salt Pond Park. Really enjoyed walking the almost deserted beaches at Kekaha (MacArthur Park) and were lucky enough to see a young adult Monk Seal (tag #1AB) on the beach one night when we went to watch sunset. Saw the same seal again further down on MacArthur Park beach the next morning when out for our walk. Watched so many whales off in the distance. Birds, butterflies and geckos galore, as well as the Roosters and cats that are all over the island. Although the cottage doesn't have a view of the ocean it is only steps away and we certainly did enjoy hearing the waves, but not so much that we could not sleep at night. The beds were very comfortable and slept peacefully every night with a gentle breeze coming in the windows. So enjoyable and very relaxing. Thanks for sharing your lovely cottage."

  • It's the Best

"My wife and I just got back a few days ago from spending 7 days of our first post-retirement vacation on Kauai. What can we say about how wonderful Mindy's is that hasn't already been said?...it's all true. Mindy's is immaculate and very comfortable. It's probably better than the pictures suggest. We ate "in" for about half our meals making good use of the deck, propane grill and well equipped kitchen. We found the paperback library in the drawers of the TV stand and caught up on some reading on the beach and when we weren't out and about. Mindy's is about a block from the beginning of Kekaha Beach, a few blocks from the "back road" to Waimea Canyon. We had a great week exploring Kauai using Mindy's as our base. Even the North Shore is only an hour and a half or so drive. Most of the South and West shore sights and activities are within 15-40 minutes. Waimea, about 2 miles East, has a good grocery open to 11 PM daily. The grocery also has a reasonable selection of beer, wine and spirits. There are a couple of eateries in Waimea as well. If "beaching it" is your thing, the apartment has chairs, umbrellas, coolers and even snorkeling gear. The beaches are minutes away. Mindy and Dave are the perfect hosts...warm and welcoming They were very helpful with suggestions when asked and never intrusive. We arrived to fresh fruit, home baked muffins and a box of (chocolate covered) macadamia nuts...mmm Do yourself a favor, don't bother trying to find anywhere else."

  • Great visit

"We started our honeymoon in Kauai and staying here was a nice treat. In hindsight, f we could have spent the whole two weeks there, I think it would've been worth it. Just the same, watching the waves from the deck and seeing the stars at night reach almost down to the horizon... wow. The view from the shower window is pretty cool too. We both enjoyed our stay there, the hosts were especially nice and helpful, and we recommend this for others. The south shore of Kauai is nice and quiet with a relaxed pace."

  • Loved it!

"We stayed in Hale Laguna Oct 19 thru Oct 27. Tropical Storm/Hurricane Ana was blowing through as we prepared to head to Kauai. So I want to mention Scott here. We were concerned and started emailing him. He was just terrific-stayed in touch all the way. Thanks Scott! The home was just perfect for us-two couples. It is a lovely home and had everything we could possibly need or want. Someone mentioned the outdoor shower. Yep, it was great! Also having the washer and dryer was so nice. Spent most time on the lanai and what a view! It all created one great time!"
