"We spent 10 days with another couple at this property. It was wonderful. From the moment that we stepped in the door we felt like home. The lanai is where we spent most of our time, morning coffee, afternoon cocktails and watching the fabulous sunsets. The second and third bedrooms are separate from the main part of the home and this was a great feature. It gave each couple lots of privacy. The beach was spectacular. Love the fact that it is not busy, beautiful pristine sand and great for those long walks. We did a helicopter ride around the island, rode bikes 12 miles down through the canyon (both of these activities got the heart rate up!!) did a sunset dinner cruise, a luau, golf and spent lots of time playing in the waves at the various beaches. Chad was great to deal with and make the arrangements very simple and convenient.
We are already looking at plans to return!"

"This is our 4th year staying at Hale Lokahi, and we've already put down a deposit for next year. Everything you've read about the house from others is spot on. Chad is easy to work with and Sarah took care of a broken screen door in one day - exceptional customer service. We've rented other VRBO houses, and none of them have the well-stocked kitchen that this home has - especially dry goods (spices, pasta, rice, canned goods) and refrigerator condiments (salad dressings, sriracha, wasabi, soy sauce, mayo, relish, other surprises). We love walking to Ishihara's every morning to get a newspaper and something fun for lunch (which flavor of poke today?) or contemplate what to grill for dinner (Kekaha shrimp? Char Sui chicken? Teriyaki beef?). Wrangler's is fun for dinner, and a walk via the beach to Kalapaki Joe's is fun, too. Don't forget to have a shaved ice and eat at the Shrimp Station. Dragging out chairs every evening to watch the sunset with a glass of wine, returning to cook dinner, laying on the beach after dinner to marvel at the stars, and falling asleep to the sound of the waves relaxes us beyond belief (as evidenced by my husband's FitBit). So much to do on Kauai! Absolutely love love love this house!"

"Our trip to Kaua'i was for a death in the family. We chose to stay on the west side of the islands. Perfect choice in this rental home. Preserved to the old planation homes, this unit reflects the days I remember growing up on the island. I will be forever grateful to the Hookano's for helping to make our trip an enjoyable one under the circumstances. Very airy, comfortable, roomy and so much more. Easy access to the beach, main road for easy travel. Clean with all the amenities you could want. This home was so much better than a 5 star hotel!!!! We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to all our family and friends that visit the islands. Mahalo nui loa, a hui hou."

"We stayed for a week and enjoyed the more local feel of Kauai's west side. The house is beautiful and immaculately maintained. We had everything that we needed to make it our home away from home. I certainly would stay again. Dave the owner lives nearby and was very easy to work with and responsive to our needs."
