  • Once again - Paradise:)

"My husband & I were lucky enough to spend a month in this great condo. It was our second time at this particular condo and this is definitely the place we will stay should we return again someday. The owners are fantastic and go above and beyond for their guests. One of our favorite places to eat was "808 Bistro" which is a short walk from the condo. Superb food and really nice atmosphere not to mention the service was awesome as well. We have to say our favorite activity was the Pacific Whale Foundation whale tour. We went on Christmas Eve at 9am and saw 3 full hours of whales "showing off" for us. You have to experience this amazing tour to realize how magical these creatures are. Our favorite beach is Kam II right across the street for sunbathing and swimming in the ocean. Our favorite sightseeing beach by far was "Ho'okipa" on the northshore. The waves were gigantic - we could have watched the surfers all day. They were so much fun to watch. Not a beach to go swimming though:) Once again Bill & Laurie thank you so much for everything you did for us while we were there. It was absolutely perfect and we loved every minute of it. You guys are the best:) Mahalo!"

  • Home away from home

"My husband and I arrived late Friday evening. Tracy had sent a detailed map of how to get to the condo as well as great info about restaurants and activities etc. We stopped on route to pick up some groceries. We arrived to a well decorated, clean and comfortable condo. Because we had arrived so late the office was closed but, there was a Kihei Kai Nani staff on hand still at the late hour to direct us and say a friendly Aloha! This was our first time to Maui and nothing could have prepared me for the magic and energy of this island! We awoke to birds singing and chirping, it sounded like we were in amongst the jungle. The wonderful staff checked us in and I left with fresh mangoes, oranges and bananas. With an offer to get us starfruit if we liked. Tracy has thought of every detail! Spices for seasoning your steaks for the bbq, coolers, beach towels, mats, boogie boards, ice packs for the cooler. Scrabble (so nice to play a game on the lanai, sipping your wine or blender drink. Yes, there is a blender!) The bed was comfy...great location, peek a boo ocean view, close to the pool and laundry. A book exchange in the laundrymat, great idea. Just a hop, skip and a jump to Kam Beach #2. Cafe O Lei, is a wonderful and delicious restaurant. 808 deli, right next door is yum! If you are looking for relaxation, beach time, and a place to recharge this is it! The only cons I would say is that it is a quiet complex 9-10pm kihei itself quiets down. We did have an issue while here with the A/C. It wasn't working, we talked to the staff and Tracy but, it did not get fixed while we were there. 8 nights total. Good think for the breeze and louver windows...If you are thinking of going to Maui, do it! I cannot rave enough about the ambiance, snorkeling, the locals, it truly is magical! If you want a home away from home and need some quiet time and a recharge. Tracy's condo is fantastic! Activities and places we went and did. La Perouse Bay for snorkeling, and amazing lava fields. Makena State Park (Big Beach) If you are a golfer or feel like a spa day check out Wailea! Wow, fancy schmanzy! Kamaole Beaches are great for boogie boarding, body surfing, snorkeling and watching the most romantic sunsets, the aquarium was great! Cloudy day hit here for sure! Mile 14, is an amazing stretch of beaches between Lahaina and Ma'alaea for snorkeling. The list goes on and on, we are for sure going back and will bring our kids (13&21) I have to share the magic!"

  • Very Nice!

"We spent 2 relaxing weeks in this nicely appointed condo and would recommend it to anyone. The interior is bright and airy and the unit is well situated in the complex, near to the pools and BBQs. The complex is quiet and well kept, and you are very close to Wailea and Kihei beaches & shopping. The bed is very comfortable and the bedroom even has a hotel type safe to protect your valuables. The condo has a bunch of beach gear in the closet which came in handy, and communication with Sue was super easy!"

  • Great Condo!

"My wife and I loved this condo. It is in a perfect location. In the past we have stayed near Diamond Head, but we decided to stay somewhere new this time and Kakaako was a perfect spot. Although we had a car to visit friends on Oahu, it was an easy walk to Ala Moana shopping center, Ward Center and Ward Warehouse along with two wonderful Japanese markets. The number of restaurants was amazing. The best Thai food in Hawaii at Phuket Thai is a very short walk without crossing the street. Other great restaurants within walking distance are Chef Chai, Stage, Side Street Inn, Kakaako Kitchen and Tango. Of course, there are several more in the area, depending on tastes and budget. It was two block walk to Ala Moana Park for exercise. The view from the 25th floor is amazing and depending on the time year, you can see whales (bring your own binoculars) or the Green Flash from the lanai. The tenants of the building are friendly and you feel like you are a resident rather than a tourist, which is hard to do in the Diamond Head area. We would go back without a doubt. We really didn't want to leave. The condo is nicely appointed, so don't have the feeling that it is a rental that nobody cares about maintaining. It was definitely the best condo we have ever stayed in. Highly recommended."

Lanai Travel Tips

The Stuff Holidays are Made of at Lanai Vacation Rentals

Imagine framing the rock cliffs of Lanai, Hawaii in your camera. The unhurried pace allows plenty of opportunities for leisurely activities in a place that inspires daydreams. If you can dream up a watersport, relaxing activity, or view, Lanai vacation rentals will be the place to find this reality. Lanai is one of the smaller Hawaiian Islands as it's only 18 miles in length and 13 miles wide. As someone said, “There are no traffic lights, and this is how the people of Lanai like it.” It is a whole other world on Lanai and most definitely different from Maui which is eight miles away.

Pragmatic Details About Lanai Beach Rentals

Getting to Lanai can be a bit of a concern because it is impossible to fly directly to the island from the lower 48 states or Alaska. Instead, you must travel to Maui and either take a boat or small plane to Lanai City. Once on the island, you may want a rental car to move around to the various locations. Lanai City and Koele are the major cities of the island. Lanai City has a population of 3,193 which does not even make it a city in most people’s eyes but rather a quaint town. Temperatures will remain between 70 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit year-round with about 37 inches of rainfall a year. Lanai City is a bit cooler because of the mountain elevation but you still have shorts-wearing weather to enjoy.

Lanai Condos Near the Golf Clubs

The finest golfing to be found on the island is located in Koele and Manele which are close to some of the Lanai condo locations. The courses are world-class in their championship set-up. If you do not golf, do not worry as there are plenty of activities for non-golfers on the island. Nature-lovers will enjoy the pine Munro Trail where you can lose yourself in the peaceful and well conserved forest. It is possible to look out at the ocean for Spinner dolphins from Hulopoe Bay. They are one of the more aerobatic species of dolphin, granting you a scene that is hard to witness in any other state. If there are no dolphins, spend your time looking in the tide pools for other sea creatures or take a snorkel trip out to the reefs. Diving is a must for anyone who wishes to view the crystal-clear waters from below and the amazingly stocked reefs. Lanai is home to Shipwreck Beach, named for the WWII-era ship that is trapped there.

Historical Sites Found on Lanai

Nature is not the only attraction one can find on Lanai. There are four historical sites you should travel to in between hammock naps and surfing the waves. Lanaihale is a trail which takes you up the 3,370-foot mountain named after George Munro. Munro planted pine trees along the trail. These pine trees came from New Zealand. From the hiking or driving trail, you can spot Oahu, Molokai, Maui, and Kahoolawe. Keahikawelo or the Garden of the Gods is another remarkable feature of Lanai due to the rock tower formations. Those who have visited the area say the garden of rock towers glows in the sunset. Manele Harbor provides more than beautiful views and boats, as it is home to the largest collection of petroglyphs. Finally, for historical sites, there is Kaunolu Village. It was once the favored fishing area for King Kamehameha I. Today, you are able to see the ruins of the village which left behind 85 house platforms and a religious temple.

Cuisines and Fresh Fish on Lanai

Lanai Beach rentals ensure that you have a fully equipped kitchen for cooking fresh fish and seafood you catch during the day. However, if you are ready for something a little different, you can visit the city’s restaurants with their authentic Hawaiian dishes. Many will have a Pacific bent like the Filipino dishes common on the Hawaiian islands.
