  • Perfect retreat in Kailua

"We're just back from our two weeks holiday. We spent five days of the first week at the Cottage in Kailua and it was perfect. By the time we left and moved on up the coast we were totally relaxed. The Cottage has everything you could possibly need for a holiday close to the beach. The furnishing were tasteful and comfortable. The kitchen worked well - we ate in all the time and used the BBQ every night except for one night when we walked to Buzz's Steakhouse (can recommend). Everything was spotlessly clean and beautifully renovated. Kailua beach is gorgeous and the beach toys helped to make our daily trip there a joy. I hope we can return soon to this wonderful property. Thank you Toni and Francis - you were a pleasure to deal with and thank you for allowing us to rent your little bit of paradise."

  • The best vacation spot on the planet

"My family and I stayed at Polo Beach Club in a beautiful oceanfront condo. We enjoyed everything about our stay.. the condo, the location, the perfect ocean view of islands and sunset, the beautiful sandy beach and clear blue ocean water, the pool and spa, the barbecue area to meet other guests, the nearby resorts to walk to dinner or entertainment, the sounds of ocean waves for a restful sleep. This is by far the best vacation spot! We had excellent service by the booking agents Travis and Corey. Our reservations were made with friendly ease. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to enjoy the best vacation of their life. Aloha!"

  • perfect

"I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the condo. The waves can be heard throughout. There is a well kept pool and hot tub immediately below and a beach I walked every morning for miles with no end blocks away from the entrance to the facility. Quiet facility. All items in the condo are high quality and well kept. I enjoyed all aspects of our trip and look forward to my next visit to Maui to spend some more time in Ma'alaea. The location is such that you have easy access to Lahaina or Kehei depending on your preference, it really worked our well for myself and our group. We will stay here again when we come back, which we are all anxious to do. Mahalo!"

  • Great property ! Wonderful Property Manager.

"We spent 11 days at Hale Lani to celebrate our 40th Anniversary with our kids and grandchildren. The grounds are breathtaking ! We spent most of our vacation in the tropical manicured backyard enjoying the beautiful pool. The Sandy bottomed paddling pool was perfect for the 3 little ones ! The swim up bar was a fun added feature ! We thank you Richard for helping us out during our stay. We all appreciated your thoughtfulness. You went above and beyond ! You won't be disappointed if you stay at this amazing property ! We hope to be back again someday !"

Lanai Travel Tips

The Stuff Holidays are Made of at Lanai Vacation Rentals

Imagine framing the rock cliffs of Lanai, Hawaii in your camera. The unhurried pace allows plenty of opportunities for leisurely activities in a place that inspires daydreams. If you can dream up a watersport, relaxing activity, or view, Lanai vacation rentals will be the place to find this reality. Lanai is one of the smaller Hawaiian Islands as it's only 18 miles in length and 13 miles wide. As someone said, “There are no traffic lights, and this is how the people of Lanai like it.” It is a whole other world on Lanai and most definitely different from Maui which is eight miles away.

Pragmatic Details About Lanai Beach Rentals

Getting to Lanai can be a bit of a concern because it is impossible to fly directly to the island from the lower 48 states or Alaska. Instead, you must travel to Maui and either take a boat or small plane to Lanai City. Once on the island, you may want a rental car to move around to the various locations. Lanai City and Koele are the major cities of the island. Lanai City has a population of 3,193 which does not even make it a city in most people’s eyes but rather a quaint town. Temperatures will remain between 70 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit year-round with about 37 inches of rainfall a year. Lanai City is a bit cooler because of the mountain elevation but you still have shorts-wearing weather to enjoy.

Lanai Condos Near the Golf Clubs

The finest golfing to be found on the island is located in Koele and Manele which are close to some of the Lanai condo locations. The courses are world-class in their championship set-up. If you do not golf, do not worry as there are plenty of activities for non-golfers on the island. Nature-lovers will enjoy the pine Munro Trail where you can lose yourself in the peaceful and well conserved forest. It is possible to look out at the ocean for Spinner dolphins from Hulopoe Bay. They are one of the more aerobatic species of dolphin, granting you a scene that is hard to witness in any other state. If there are no dolphins, spend your time looking in the tide pools for other sea creatures or take a snorkel trip out to the reefs. Diving is a must for anyone who wishes to view the crystal-clear waters from below and the amazingly stocked reefs. Lanai is home to Shipwreck Beach, named for the WWII-era ship that is trapped there.

Historical Sites Found on Lanai

Nature is not the only attraction one can find on Lanai. There are four historical sites you should travel to in between hammock naps and surfing the waves. Lanaihale is a trail which takes you up the 3,370-foot mountain named after George Munro. Munro planted pine trees along the trail. These pine trees came from New Zealand. From the hiking or driving trail, you can spot Oahu, Molokai, Maui, and Kahoolawe. Keahikawelo or the Garden of the Gods is another remarkable feature of Lanai due to the rock tower formations. Those who have visited the area say the garden of rock towers glows in the sunset. Manele Harbor provides more than beautiful views and boats, as it is home to the largest collection of petroglyphs. Finally, for historical sites, there is Kaunolu Village. It was once the favored fishing area for King Kamehameha I. Today, you are able to see the ruins of the village which left behind 85 house platforms and a religious temple.

Cuisines and Fresh Fish on Lanai

Lanai Beach rentals ensure that you have a fully equipped kitchen for cooking fresh fish and seafood you catch during the day. However, if you are ready for something a little different, you can visit the city’s restaurants with their authentic Hawaiian dishes. Many will have a Pacific bent like the Filipino dishes common on the Hawaiian islands.
