  • Whales, Rainbows and Sunsets... What more is needed on Maui?

"Our trip was designed to spend time with family including grandchildren and this location was the best. Lots of Room in the Condo, great grassy area for play time and steps to the sandy beach. The cove area is protected and allowed our family to practice paddel boarding. Whales were jumping right outside the breakers, turtles in the bay, rainbows in the morning and sunsets that were so special made our two weeks memorable. Location is close to Lahaina, Kaanapali and truly everything we wanted to do. With two toddler grandkids and an infant, the supplies for their comfort were really appreciated. This was our first time enjoying the condo, and we are already looking forward to another opportunity."

  • Comfortable Digs on a Truly Spectacular Beach

"This is my honest appraisal of this one-bedroom Hawaiian Princess condo on Makaha Beach, written for the benefit of future renters. I was there for 11 nights in February 2015. The 180+ degree unobstructed view from the lanai is Truly Spectacular. The broad, deep beach is one of the best on the island. That includes 5-star sunsets! The beach has clean, golden brown “sesame seed” sand and was practically deserted. Very Few people were out on the beach the entire time I was there, and about half were surfers I watched from my lanai. The condo is on the small side, approx 450-550 sf, but was completely comfortable and adequate for 2 adults. The kitchen was extremely clean, well-equipped and perfectly maintained. Furnishings were attractive and in fine condition. Plenty of linens and beach gear. Condo and lanai were private, in terms of both sight and sound. Wifi was fine for email and there was an option to upgrade the internet service, for a small fee. If you need a wired connection, router is in the unit. There is a large, flat-screen TV with HDTV and HDMI inputs (I used it as a computer monitor). Staff and owners were personable, responsive and helpful. Owners live elsewhere. Facility included secure entry, tennis courts, an outdoor pool and toasty warm outdoor hot tub. The surrounding area had only a few good attractions and restaurants; however, I recommend visiting “Kahumana Farm” (~3 miles away) for locally grown, organic groceries and restaurant. Try to go for dinner on the First Friday of the month, if your trip dates coincide, for a fun night of free live music and other entertainment. They also offer inexpensive daily yoga classes. For other groceries, I liked Tamura Market. Traffic entering and leaving the Makaha/Waianae area was frequently heavy. For this reason, I would Not recommend this condo as a base for sightseeing beyond the immediate area. There were zero insect, noise or privacy problems here."

  • Fantastic Vacation Home

"After spending one week at Kaanapoli Beach, we closed out our family vacation at this rental. We can't say enough positive about the home. The views of the ocean and sunset are unreal! Loved the location being outside the town Hana. Great access to all of the must see areas of Hana. The available boogie boards and beach chairs were an added bonus. Hamoa Beach is now our family's favorite beach on Maui."

  • Sands of Kahana

"I have just finished a seven day stay at this magnificent condo in Kahana Maui. I have extensive experience at multiple properties on all of the islands of Hawaii and I have to say this condo is the Babe Ruth Home Run....this is the best of the best!!!!! It just can't get any better. It is a large comfortable home with the perfect view and the perfect lay out. The kitchen is fully equipped with whatever a cook or chef might need to create a wonderful meal..and there are multiple BB stations on the property. The beds are comfortable and each room permits a wonderful serenade of the sound of the ocean. The home has all of the ocean gear necessary for a fun time on the beach. The beach here is dozens of times better than that of the Ritz down the road and better than most beaches you will experience on the island. I tried snorkeling, spear fishing, and kayaking, while others were surfing (a bit out to sea) sail boarding, and doing other ocean sports. It is a great home for a family get away and or a get away for couples and /or friends It is an easy drive to golf courses, other beaches, and to multiple restaurants a island shopping. It is convenient to all island adventures and a pedestrian friendly area also! The complex is sophisticated and quiet. You will be able to relax, decompress and have whatever adventure suits your heart. Bill and Cindy have been thorough, direct and professional in all of their dealings with me. There is a difference between a flower and a Gem. This condo is a gem. Don't pass up the opportunity!!!"

Lanai Travel Tips

The Stuff Holidays are Made of at Lanai Vacation Rentals

Imagine framing the rock cliffs of Lanai, Hawaii in your camera. The unhurried pace allows plenty of opportunities for leisurely activities in a place that inspires daydreams. If you can dream up a watersport, relaxing activity, or view, Lanai vacation rentals will be the place to find this reality. Lanai is one of the smaller Hawaiian Islands as it's only 18 miles in length and 13 miles wide. As someone said, “There are no traffic lights, and this is how the people of Lanai like it.” It is a whole other world on Lanai and most definitely different from Maui which is eight miles away.

Pragmatic Details About Lanai Beach Rentals

Getting to Lanai can be a bit of a concern because it is impossible to fly directly to the island from the lower 48 states or Alaska. Instead, you must travel to Maui and either take a boat or small plane to Lanai City. Once on the island, you may want a rental car to move around to the various locations. Lanai City and Koele are the major cities of the island. Lanai City has a population of 3,193 which does not even make it a city in most people’s eyes but rather a quaint town. Temperatures will remain between 70 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit year-round with about 37 inches of rainfall a year. Lanai City is a bit cooler because of the mountain elevation but you still have shorts-wearing weather to enjoy.

Lanai Condos Near the Golf Clubs

The finest golfing to be found on the island is located in Koele and Manele which are close to some of the Lanai condo locations. The courses are world-class in their championship set-up. If you do not golf, do not worry as there are plenty of activities for non-golfers on the island. Nature-lovers will enjoy the pine Munro Trail where you can lose yourself in the peaceful and well conserved forest. It is possible to look out at the ocean for Spinner dolphins from Hulopoe Bay. They are one of the more aerobatic species of dolphin, granting you a scene that is hard to witness in any other state. If there are no dolphins, spend your time looking in the tide pools for other sea creatures or take a snorkel trip out to the reefs. Diving is a must for anyone who wishes to view the crystal-clear waters from below and the amazingly stocked reefs. Lanai is home to Shipwreck Beach, named for the WWII-era ship that is trapped there.

Historical Sites Found on Lanai

Nature is not the only attraction one can find on Lanai. There are four historical sites you should travel to in between hammock naps and surfing the waves. Lanaihale is a trail which takes you up the 3,370-foot mountain named after George Munro. Munro planted pine trees along the trail. These pine trees came from New Zealand. From the hiking or driving trail, you can spot Oahu, Molokai, Maui, and Kahoolawe. Keahikawelo or the Garden of the Gods is another remarkable feature of Lanai due to the rock tower formations. Those who have visited the area say the garden of rock towers glows in the sunset. Manele Harbor provides more than beautiful views and boats, as it is home to the largest collection of petroglyphs. Finally, for historical sites, there is Kaunolu Village. It was once the favored fishing area for King Kamehameha I. Today, you are able to see the ruins of the village which left behind 85 house platforms and a religious temple.

Cuisines and Fresh Fish on Lanai

Lanai Beach rentals ensure that you have a fully equipped kitchen for cooking fresh fish and seafood you catch during the day. However, if you are ready for something a little different, you can visit the city’s restaurants with their authentic Hawaiian dishes. Many will have a Pacific bent like the Filipino dishes common on the Hawaiian islands.
