  • Everything I needed

"We had a lovely holiday in this home. Many times I gave been to Maui ,but never stayed in Maalaea. I personally love waking up in the morning and eating a light breakfast in our well equipped kitchen, good knives and pans, then heading out to sugar beach for a good two hour walk. The beach was quite level and easy to walk along. Very important for my father who by the end of our stay commented how he had just realized this was the most pain free walking !(has heel and leg problems ) I agreed it was an ideal beach for those who love to walk! Everyone we met, greeted us and the locals loved to chat at times. We did have two 20 something's with us, a bit quiet for them in regards to shops and restaurants, but the beach was good and the pool. They shared - a room with twin beds and occasionally one crashed on the comfy sofa. Great to have then in their own space and very nice bathroom. They rented scooters and were able to drive to kihei and paia easily. The condo was perhaps more simple and less luxurious than other places I have stayed for twice the price, but I would return as it met all my needs and was super clean. The location was ideal for anyone who besides loved walking on beaches, loves to explore Maui. Easily 20 minutes off any drive north or south or west. The reason we chose Malaea was its central location and remarkBly lower rents for equal value of units. We booked this specific unit based on price and location and also the very prompt and helpful response from Stephanie at Igomaui.com. All affairs were handled professionally and to my liking. Only wish I had was a king bed in master also there was no safe? Not sure that is normal as it is not a hotel type property. At no time do we feel unsafe and it appeared that there were some long term residents who kept a watch on people and homes. ( one neighbour followed me to my car as I had left the door and windows open. He was concerned I was too comfortable and had not secured the condo. But one son had chosen to stay home that day, so all was good. Great to know there are good neighbours. Next time I am bringing my husband too and I bet we may buy a unit! One last advice. Stay in Maleaea condo, when you head out for. The day. Look around and at the sky and then make your plans. We never saw the rain! Another point. We sat on the patio at all times of the day. great views and comfort. As much as one likes to sit in sun, it can be too hot."

  • Great introduction to Maui!

"We (two late 60's couples) visited Maui for the first time and chose this property for our stay because of the stellar reviews. We were certainly not disappointed. From time of booking last year throughout our stay, Jade was in frequent contact and was exceptionally communicative. A new lock was installed on the door just before our arrival, and Jade's detailed instructions made our entry easy. Everything from the sweet gift bag to the updated décor was a pleasant welcome. This 2 bedroom/2 bath unit is about 1000 square feet and is very well maintained, furnished, and decorated. Its location in the complex offers a wonderful view (complete with sound) of the ocean and the start of a long sandy beach. October, 2014 has been hot in the Hawaiian Islands, so we were very grateful for the air conditioning unit in the living room - it cooled the entire space enough that we all slept comfortably. We heard our neighbors only once in the 6 nights we stayed, and only briefly as apparently a piece of furniture was dragged across the floor of the unit above us. Maalaea Bay is quiet, as is this complex, but that's what we wanted. Friendly folks in town, good access to the rest of the island, well-stocked condo all combined to make our holiday memorable. We highly recommend this property."

  • Will Definitely Return!

"This was our first time to Maui and renting this condo, and neither disappointed! The convenience of the centrally-located condo was fantastic. The condo grounds were great and quiet. The condo itself had everything we needed. We will definitely rent this condo again and we highly recommend it to our friends and family."

Maalaea Travel Tips

Enjoy Maalaea Vacation Rentals in Central Maui

Maalaea is a district located in Central Maui, which is six miles from Wailuku. You'll find Ma'alaea where Honoapi'ilani Highway, also known as Highway 30, meets the south coast. This prime location makes it a favorite hot spot for tourists. Tourists looking to emerge themselves in the culture and society of Maui often choose one of the Maalaea vacation rentals available on the island--allowing them the comforts of home surrounded by the locals.

The Comfort of Maalaea Vacation Rentals

Maalaea vacation rentals range from Central Maui beach rentals to Maalaea condos, so there is an accommodation to fit almost any need and taste in the area. Central Maui beach rentals offer guests direct access to the beach, sun, water activities and more. Most of the Central Maui beach rentals are Maalaea condos, with some running along Maalaea Bay. Other rental options include single-family homes, which offer you the chance to mingle with the locals and still find private respite in your home when the mingling is over.

Ma'alaea Beach Fun

One of the primary attractions for visitors is Ma'alaea Beach. Ma'alaea Beach is three miles long, stretching from Ma'alaea Harbor to Sugar Beach on the east. Visitors to the beach do not tend to flock Ma'alaea Beach for relaxing in the sand and sun. On the contrary, Ma'alaea Beach is known for high winds, which makes it a prime location for surfing the big waves and windsurfing. When you come in out of the sun (and the wind), you can enjoy a meal you've made in your full-equipped Maalaea vacation rental or take a nap in one of the private bedrooms. For nights when cooking isn't on the agenda, restaurants, cafes and shops are readily available. Buzz's Wharf Restaurant is a local favorite along with The Blue Marlin and Bamboo Bistro.
