  • Pure Delight

"My stay at this beautiful condo was four weeks and I must admit that it was better than my expectations. I have had several stays in condos and hotels in Hawaii of a month's duration, and none have been better than this one at Maalaea Kai. The view from the lanai is absolutely breathtaking with a wide panoramic section (180 deg.) of the ocean in the foreground and the backdrop for the view is the splendor of the slopes of Haleakala Volcanic Crater, home of Haleakala National Park. The grounds are lovely and in immaculate condition with a wonderful lawn (as though walking on a plush carpet). The condo is fully equipped with all the furnishings of a nice home. I especially enjoyed my sleep time on the very comfortable bed. The Bedroom has lots of closet space and enough hangers to accomodate more than three pieces of large luggage. Space is indeed plentiful. Two AC units (Fujitsu units), one for BR and one for LR, both with an individual remote. One can keep the condo comfortable at your desired temperature. If one opens the windows; there is always a breeze that will flow through the unit. On a few days the AC was not even used. The kitchen counters were tiled just before I moved in and are beautiful. The LR is spacious with a nice comfy sofa and a new Flat-screen TV, accompanied by more channels than I have ever had in eithr a condo or hotel. The locality of the condo is a preferred location, especially if one is planning to travel the island to places like Kihei, Haleakala, Hana, Kaanapali, Kahului, and the Airport. The condo is in a prime location for travel. No traffic to worry about around the condo; easy in and easy out. One of my favorite things to do each morning shortly after sunrise, was to walk outside on the front lawn and admire the ocean and mountains, then I would stroll about five minutes and then I would be at Maalaea Harbor. This is where many of the fishing boats and cruise boats have their home. This is a great opportunity for photographers to shoot some great shots; photography is my hobby. Lastly, but probably the most important, Richard, the owner. From my first contact with him to the last, he has been a joy to with whom to work. I find him to be a person of integrity, and who is honest and straightforward in all that he says. I am already excitingly looking forward to a return visit to this condo."

  • So lucky to have found this gem!

"We have been coming to Maui for 15 years, some of which we have stayed with my son who is a snorkel boat captain. Since we had another party w/us this time, needed to find a place. Since we love going out to see the whales, this location made sense. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice and well appointed this condo is...it has everything you will need. The location is central to anywhere on the island and we really enjoy all the boats coming in and out, especially since we have many friends working on them. Handy little store right next door along with a few nice eating spots in walking distance. Property manager Barbara set us up with welcome basket. Everything has been perfect! So many whales out this year....so many visible from our lanai...not to mention turtles directly below us! Can't say enough great things about this condo."

  • Fabulous Condo in a beautiful area

"We stayed in Lauloa 309 in Maalaea for five nights in mid June. The condo was exceptional. It was very clean, very nice and updated, and had everything we could possibly need. The view from the lanai is spectacular. We didn't see any whales because of the time of year, but we watched a lot surfers. Check-in and check-out were completely painless. We just found the unit and entered the door code we had been sent when we reserved it. Checkout was equally easy. The only downside to the unit was that the air conditioner was loud and it was pretty hot the week we were there so we did need to run it at night. It wasn't something you couldn't sleep through, but if you're a light sleeper it might bother you. I think we were just there at a particularly hot time, though. (And the beds were really comfortable so I'm sure that helped!) The immediate area doesn't have much in the way of restaurants. There is the General Store and a couple of small places near the marina. Most nights we went into Kihei to eat, which is about 15(ish) minutes away. The other thing that might be an issue for some people is the beach, which is a 5-minute walk down the road to the left, is pretty rocky under the water and you don't always see them. We had to go buy bandaids after swimming there because everyone ended up getting slammed into them at some point. Maybe we just needed to find a different spot. The water was also particularly rough while we were there (a south swell that lasted longer than usual), so maybe that had something to do with it as well. But overall, we loved the place. The location was great for seeing the rest of the island. We also did the Four Winds Molokini snorkeling trip, which was awesome!"

  • Amazing!!!!

"The location of the condo is the best!!! Easy access to anything; that is if you want to leave- We loved the condo and the "little beach" so much we spent many relaxing hours there- the day before we left two manta rays come into the harbor and frolicked right in front of the lanai - it was a treat to see these beautiful creatures. Also enjoyed the bobbing heads of the sea turtles every day. Must see is Sugar Beach right near the condo - so wonderful. We were the only ones there! My sister's first time to Hawaii and she fell in love and truly enjoyed the well equipped and tastefully decorated condo. Thanks Cynthia"

Maalaea Travel Tips

Enjoy Maalaea Vacation Rentals in Central Maui

Maalaea is a district located in Central Maui, which is six miles from Wailuku. You'll find Ma'alaea where Honoapi'ilani Highway, also known as Highway 30, meets the south coast. This prime location makes it a favorite hot spot for tourists. Tourists looking to emerge themselves in the culture and society of Maui often choose one of the Maalaea vacation rentals available on the island--allowing them the comforts of home surrounded by the locals.

The Comfort of Maalaea Vacation Rentals

Maalaea vacation rentals range from Central Maui beach rentals to Maalaea condos, so there is an accommodation to fit almost any need and taste in the area. Central Maui beach rentals offer guests direct access to the beach, sun, water activities and more. Most of the Central Maui beach rentals are Maalaea condos, with some running along Maalaea Bay. Other rental options include single-family homes, which offer you the chance to mingle with the locals and still find private respite in your home when the mingling is over.

Ma'alaea Beach Fun

One of the primary attractions for visitors is Ma'alaea Beach. Ma'alaea Beach is three miles long, stretching from Ma'alaea Harbor to Sugar Beach on the east. Visitors to the beach do not tend to flock Ma'alaea Beach for relaxing in the sand and sun. On the contrary, Ma'alaea Beach is known for high winds, which makes it a prime location for surfing the big waves and windsurfing. When you come in out of the sun (and the wind), you can enjoy a meal you've made in your full-equipped Maalaea vacation rental or take a nap in one of the private bedrooms. For nights when cooking isn't on the agenda, restaurants, cafes and shops are readily available. Buzz's Wharf Restaurant is a local favorite along with The Blue Marlin and Bamboo Bistro.
