"Wow! Awesome Time! Love Sugar Beach - we've been coming here for several years and are never disappointed. First time in this condo - very nice- can't wait to return! Saw the "blood moon" while here! Maui makes me happy!!"

  • This is THE place to stay on Maui!

"My husband and I agree that this is surely one of the best designed condos we've seen. Add to that the absolutely stunning view which reaches from Makena Beach all the way around to the lighthouse, on the other side of the vast Maalaea Bay. Since it's an end unit on the top floor, the master has side windows which expand the view (and cross breezes) significantly. The decor is beautifully tropical in feeling, without being Hawaiian Kitche. There are a number of lovely sculpted pieces...metal, wood, pottery, ceramic and glass, as well as strategically placed mirrors that definitely bring the "outside in". But WHAT an outside!!! The ocean RIGHT THERE! I've never seen a condo built so close to the Ocean. I marvel at the amount of Oceanographic and Geographic research the architects must have done prior to building. And perhaps the most exceptional part is that even with the openness, the amount of total privacy is astonishing. With a top floor unit in only a 4 story condo...you can see the palm trees swaying (take THAT you Kaanapali multi-stories!), and the few units to the other side sit further back from the beach and have almost no windows facing this direction. The condo, which was built, I believe, in the 80's has been totally updated with brand new stove/oven, microwave, french door refrigerator with icemaker, and a high-efficiency washer & dryer. Cable TV n both the LR & MBR. Everything you need is here, including a complete revolving spice rack. You can walk the beach almost to Makena,..or at least to Kihei (depending upon your level of fitness)! There is an elevator that you can use to bring up luggage & groceries..so even for us mid-'70's folks, the unit is easily accessible. There are boogie boards & fins in the closet, easy access to several restaurants in the area...and even the drive into Kahului or Kihei is only 10 minutes or so. My husband and I lived on Oahu for almost 20 years, and have been to Maui many times, but this is our first stay in this area. For us, this is the PLACE!"

  • Loved this place!

"If you want a place to unwind and relax this is it. The location of the condo, just steps from the ocean, makes it ideal for spending more time doing what you like. I came with my husband, and our 2 sons, aged 16 and 20. All of us enjoyed it and would love to return. My favorite part was bobbing in the ocean right in front of the condo. It was not uncommon to be out there with just one or two others and sometimes completely alone. So relaxing! It was a very peaceful place to lounge and read. I enjoyed the ease of coming and going without all of us needing to move together as one unit and drive to the beach. The decor of the condo is lovely. The tiled flooring is beautiful, area rugs are of high quality as well as furnishings. Listening to the waves at night in the super comfy king bed, trade winds blowing, made for the best rest. Heck, it made for great naps, too. We did venture out to Lahaina, Kaanapali, Wailea, Kihei. Found good eats, played in the surf, went snorkeling ... yet, being at the condo was like coming home."

  • Ideal location for beauty and convenience

"We stayed at this unit in Kanai a Nalu for 5 days and loved it - this was our first time in Maui. The place had everything we needed in the kitchen and in terms of linens and towels, and arrangements for arrival through leaving were smooth. There is plenty of room too. It gets a nice breeze, especially using the front and back screen doors, and sitting on the lanai was nice. The pool was just perfect too, with a great view as you relaxed. The beach it's on is lovely - one you can go for long walks on. You see endless ocean, the sun, south Maui, and islands in the distance. There was a small reef which suprised us with a turtle feeding there one evening. The water had few waves and was perfect for swimming. The beach gets wind in the evening, which was refreshing. We were so close to the harbor and able to get a get a few things there as well as have a fun, reasonable dinner with great fish tacos and ribs. We were also in a great location for trips to Kihei for groceries, to Lahania for entertainment, and to many spots to enjoy the natural beauty - Iao Needle, Road to Hana, and snorkeling and beaches on the northwest and southwest coasts. There were no concerns, nothing to change - just perfect."
