  • Best Location in the Entire Building!

"We've stayed at Kana'i A Nalu several times (we visit Maui every April) and have enjoyed staying in different units. However, this one has THE VERY BEST VIEW, PRIVACY, and NOISE LEVEL out of ALL of them! It's a top floor, ocean front (absolutely nothing but a beachfront view out of the window) and at the corner of the building AWAY from the pool- which means totally quiet except for the crashing waves! It has ever amenity that you could want- beach chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, etc. Also- I really appreciated that the owners leave leftover (shelf stable) food items from previous tenants (olive oil, vinegar, condiments, rice, flour, sugar, etc.) Every other condo that we've stayed at in this building DOES NOT do this. It was a huge help to have these food items handy. We traveled with our baby and rented all baby items from http://www.akamaimothers.com/ . They deliver & pick-up the baby items! Our pack-n-play, booster seat and beach cabana were waiting at the front door upon our arrival!"

  • Loved this Condo!

"We stayed in this unit for the first week of our two week Maui holiday. I loved that the condo complex was right on the beach, which made for nice sunset walks, turtle and whale watching, plus some nifty snorkelling when the waves aren't too rough. The area is one of the quieter neighbourhoods; No big resorts or clubs are nearby to cause noise or traffic, and the public park right beside the unit was quiet as well. Being centrally located in Maalaea is handy for those who want to explore; you can head west to Lahaina for shopping/museums, take the road to Hana, drive up to Haleakala, or head south to La Perouse Bay. Close by the condo, within walking distance, is the Maalaea harbour, which features the Maui Ocean center, and where several snorkelling, whale watching and fishing tours depart daily. A short drive north will take you to the Maui Tropical plantation/zip line, Iao Valley, or into Kahului/Wailuku for grocery shopping. The condo is well appointed, with pretty much every kitchen item you'll need. The fridge freezer has a built in icemaker, which saves having to buy bagged ice. The main floor closet has beach items like an umbrella and boogie boards, and portable coolers for going on adventures around the island. We also found hand soap, shampoo, and a hair dryer in the bathrooms, which not all condos provide. I love the tropical décor, and the unit was just a nice size for us four travelling as two couples. The bedroom upstairs has its own bath, which is convenient and gave more privacy. About the only nitpicks/traveller's warnings I can think of are rather minor: - the kitchen is so well stocked, that there is limited dry goods storage. You may have to do some creative shuffling if you don't want to leave stuff on the counter tops. - as it's centrally located, the airport flyways can be directly overhead depending on the wind direction - there WILL be ants. This is a tropical island, so this is unavoidable. (other than a penthouse condo, I've found them in ALL my tropical accommodations.) Keep all your open goods in the fridge and make sure to IMMEDIATELY clean up anything you drop/spill. ***A special shout out goes to our property owner and manager; Lynn was very accommodating with our booking arrangements, and Cindy made special provision for our group's chemical sensitivities, going so far as to purchase/launder the linens in the detergent I use at home. Thank you for your help, ladies, and we hope to return to Maui someday soon!"

  • Nicest Property in Maalaea

"It is always difficult to start a review...so many good things to say. This property, by far, is the nicest, cleanest and most well kept of any on the Maalaea condo strip. The property is older, probably from the early 70s, but the exterior has a reasonably new coat of paint, the pool is perfect (and bath water warm), and has an elevator making each floor accessible. The parking space for the unit is...well, right there in front of the unit. It couldn't be any closer or more convenient. The interior has lots of mirrors (very '70s) making it look a little larger. The kitchen was nice and well equiped. The bedrooms are spacious, with more mirrors. Master has a king size; 2nd Bedroom was set up with a king that is convertable to two twins. The furniture on the lanai is functional, and the ocean couldn't be closer (30 feet from the window) unless you were in it. The sounds lull you to sleep every night. Bathrooms were both clean and functional, with lots of hot water and good pressure. The WiFi was great and easily supported our 4 users. The outdoor, communal grills were AWESOME...professional grade, very new and clean, and ready to use! To improve your stay (or set your expectations), the following items should be noted: The unit does NOT have air conditioning, but the constant breeze (15-20 kts ALL THE TIME) is perfect to cool the unit, both day and night. Leaving the windows open does create a thin layer of dust inside the unit, but it is what it is. Also, the unit does NOT have a washer dryer. There is one shown in the pictures, but we didn't read the unit details closely, and it clearly says washer dryer is on the floor, but not in the unit. Finally, there is not a beach in front of or near the property. It is a retaining wall with rocks at the ocean level. There is a point of ocean access, but only for the adventurous that wish to climb over the rocks. There is a beach at the end of the road, at least two hundred yards east of the property. This wasn't convenient for our teenagers who like to play in the waves and snorkel. We had a wonderful stay, and the location of the condo (in relationship to other areas of Maui) was extremely convenient. Easy to Lahaina, easy to Kihei, easy to the Airport and north shore. We hope to visit Maui again, and if we make it back, we'll call Dawn and Dean. Thanks."

  • Relaxing Vacation and Sea Turtle Watching!

"Condo is as pictured and communication with owner was prompt and easy. This is a quiet location and the main floor location was great for being able to walk out and enjoy the ocean view. Enjoyed watching turtles swimming everyday in front of the condo. Condo had the basics we needed. We found we had to drive to get groceries or to eat out at restaurants -all easy to do because of the central location. We enjoyed going out on day trips and returning to relax at this condo home base. One week is not enough time to fully explore Maui but we had a great vacation here."
