  • Home away from home

"We spent 5 nights in Maui and were very happy we chose a condo instead of a hotel. It was centrally located and in a quiet area with well kept grounds. You can walk to the local attractions (Maalaea Harbor, Aquirium and miniture golf/rock climbing/bumper boat complex). This particular unit had an amazing view of the pool and ocean and doesn't get the direct sun, making it very pleasant for relaxing on the lanai. The interior was nicely updated and had all the amenities of home (hair dryer, kitchen essentials). Just bring an extra can of 'Off' as the Mosquitos are very hungry once the sun goes down! --- I also want to mention that the owner was very easy to work with and accommodating when we had to make some last minute changes to our stay. Great place for a stress free vacation!"

  • Fabulous Location

"We recently stayed three weeks at Maalaea Kai and had such a relaxing time. It suited our needs even though the condo is a little tired. However, the price was right, so we told ourselves we really didn't need an updated kitchen or bathroom. Everything seems original in the condo, but it was clean. We just loved sitting on the lanai and looking out at the ocean, as we were much closed than the photos show. Even though the whales had left by the time we went, we did see quite a few large turtles right in front of our place. It's such a central location to the harbor and little town of Maalaea, so we walked everywhere. People have told me that it's windy in Maalaea, so let them keep thinking that as it keeps them away. We had a couple of really windy days, however, that's all over Maui. We never had any direct wind into the condo, so it was always pleasant just hanging out on the lanai. So for the price, it's a fabulous deal. It could probably use a new master mattress and a good carpet cleaning, but, again, for the price we felt it didn't really matter. Thanks so much to the owners. We really enjoyed the little community of Maalaea and the local shops. It was such a relaxing holiday, and we had the best weather in the 80's everyday. Thanks, again..."

  • Pure Delight

"My stay at this beautiful condo was four weeks and I must admit that it was better than my expectations. I have had several stays in condos and hotels in Hawaii of a month's duration, and none have been better than this one at Maalaea Kai. The view from the lanai is absolutely breathtaking with a wide panoramic section (180 deg.) of the ocean in the foreground and the backdrop for the view is the splendor of the slopes of Haleakala Volcanic Crater, home of Haleakala National Park. The grounds are lovely and in immaculate condition with a wonderful lawn (as though walking on a plush carpet). The condo is fully equipped with all the furnishings of a nice home. I especially enjoyed my sleep time on the very comfortable bed. The Bedroom has lots of closet space and enough hangers to accomodate more than three pieces of large luggage. Space is indeed plentiful. Two AC units (Fujitsu units), one for BR and one for LR, both with an individual remote. One can keep the condo comfortable at your desired temperature. If one opens the windows; there is always a breeze that will flow through the unit. On a few days the AC was not even used. The kitchen counters were tiled just before I moved in and are beautiful. The LR is spacious with a nice comfy sofa and a new Flat-screen TV, accompanied by more channels than I have ever had in eithr a condo or hotel. The locality of the condo is a preferred location, especially if one is planning to travel the island to places like Kihei, Haleakala, Hana, Kaanapali, Kahului, and the Airport. The condo is in a prime location for travel. No traffic to worry about around the condo; easy in and easy out. One of my favorite things to do each morning shortly after sunrise, was to walk outside on the front lawn and admire the ocean and mountains, then I would stroll about five minutes and then I would be at Maalaea Harbor. This is where many of the fishing boats and cruise boats have their home. This is a great opportunity for photographers to shoot some great shots; photography is my hobby. Lastly, but probably the most important, Richard, the owner. From my first contact with him to the last, he has been a joy to with whom to work. I find him to be a person of integrity, and who is honest and straightforward in all that he says. I am already excitingly looking forward to a return visit to this condo."

  • Fantastic ADA accessible condo

"As a travel agent specializing in accessible needs travel, it is always a little frightening when you deal directly for clients with a homeowner. But based on reviews I took a chance. Everything worked out great for my client who had accessible needs. I now plan to use this condo for all my accessible clients who want a condo in Hawaii. My client couldn't stop talking about how nice it was and how it met her needs perfectly."
