  • Fabulous Condo in a beautiful area

"We stayed in Lauloa 309 in Maalaea for five nights in mid June. The condo was exceptional. It was very clean, very nice and updated, and had everything we could possibly need. The view from the lanai is spectacular. We didn't see any whales because of the time of year, but we watched a lot surfers. Check-in and check-out were completely painless. We just found the unit and entered the door code we had been sent when we reserved it. Checkout was equally easy. The only downside to the unit was that the air conditioner was loud and it was pretty hot the week we were there so we did need to run it at night. It wasn't something you couldn't sleep through, but if you're a light sleeper it might bother you. I think we were just there at a particularly hot time, though. (And the beds were really comfortable so I'm sure that helped!) The immediate area doesn't have much in the way of restaurants. There is the General Store and a couple of small places near the marina. Most nights we went into Kihei to eat, which is about 15(ish) minutes away. The other thing that might be an issue for some people is the beach, which is a 5-minute walk down the road to the left, is pretty rocky under the water and you don't always see them. We had to go buy bandaids after swimming there because everyone ended up getting slammed into them at some point. Maybe we just needed to find a different spot. The water was also particularly rough while we were there (a south swell that lasted longer than usual), so maybe that had something to do with it as well. But overall, we loved the place. The location was great for seeing the rest of the island. We also did the Four Winds Molokini snorkeling trip, which was awesome!"

  • LOVED THE CONDO!

"I hope you guys are well. Mahalo to you and the Cunningham's for so an awesome time. Maui was so much more than we expected. We so much loved the condo and all it brought to our experience. It was such a great time we would love to come back with our children in June 2015. We will keep in touch if that is good for you. Again, thank you so much for all you did."

  • Exactly what we needed

"We're very thankful we choose this condo. It was well updated, clean, had all the amenities we could have needed. The beach, the pool and hot tub, the wonderful view from the lanai, just all amazing. It's been a really long stressful summer, but just one stroll on that beach had me completely relaxed. Thank you for taking such good care of us, and providing us help for direction on finding the best island activities. So much to choose from. You guys were A+."

  • Perfect place for the family vacation! Perfect, Perfect, Perfect!

"Sorry this is long but there are not enough words to describe how amazing this place is! There was NOTHING we didn't have staying at Aurora Sands and you will NEVER find a hotel with as many amenities or as much room. This place saved us tons of money in rentals alone. When we arrived we found that the condo had beach umbrellas, beach chairs, snorkel gear, boogie boards and coolers. Notice how I use plurals? There was enough of everything for my family of four. The kitchen was fantastic! They had EVERYTHING you could need and then some. Pizza pan (which we used), professional bottle opener and many wine glasses (which we also used-often), 2 George Foreman grills, lots of Tupperware for our daily leftovers and some things I had no idea what to do with – but they had them. One night we used the grills at the pool to bbq some steak and ate on the lanai watching the sunset and drinking wine we purchased from the winery earlier that day. Seriously? How does it get better? My kids had their own bathroom, thankfully, and they were both nice and big. Maalaea is also quite breezy so when it got to 90 degrees when we were there, we didn't have to use the AC once. The ceiling fans in every room kept us nice and cool. One of the things I loved the most was that they had trays and little bowls ALL OVER the condo. It sounds silly, but it was GREAT to have a place to put your keys, change, jewelry, sunglasses and shells found each day. It’s the little things that make a place feel like home. It was so great working with these 2 ladies on everything. They were SO quick to respond to all our questions and needs. We accidentally locked the keys in the condo before a snorkeling trip one day. When emailing to request the code – at 6:00 am mind you, I got a reply before we reached the boat. The only thing that disappointed during this trip was that we couldn't stay longer. We are already thinking about coming back during whale season. Love Love Love Aurora Sands. XoXO"
