"Very local Kihei feel! Really nice, clean, comfortable 3 bedroom house in local neighborhood. Upstairs master has wonderful outdoor lanai facing mountain and great for morning coffee. Kitchen (nicely equipped), dining and living room all open. Rear has two bedrooms opening on to large covered rear lanai and secluded, quiet, very green, tree covered back yard (shared with 2 other rentals on same property but always quiet).
Only minor down side was not super close walkable to a sandy beach.
Friendly, responsive property manager even replaced the microwave that conked out within a day-ish of us reporting it."

"Half of our ten-day Maui vacation was spent at this comfortable beach home. For our group of 9 (3 generations, ages 6 to 79), we chose this site for close access to water activities, especially snorkeling and a trip to Molokini.
The house is modern, well furnished and maintained, and the management had provided careful instructions about parking, trash pickup, and other details. Our contact was very prompt and thorough in responding to our questions.
The beach is just beyond the back lawn well supplied with palms and other trees. It is pleasant to take the furnished lawn chairs into the shade and watch the local egrets as they shuttle up and down the flyway. A small flock of chickens enjoy the freedom of the large back yard, unmarred by fences.
Don footwear on your first trip to the beach. The sandy path collects nuts and twigs dropped from the trees. While on the narrow beach watch closely and try to spot the tiny translucent crab-like sand residents as they scamper away from your path; they are invisible when not moving. Swimming and snorkeling are probably better on other stretches of Kihei beaches, but here you might see parasailers and windsurfers hot-dogging when wind and waves get lively in the afternoon.
Keep your eyes open for the geckos that are common in these climates. We detected one that seemed to hang out behind a picture on the downstairs wall, and a (different?) one that lived behind a light fixture outside below the upstairs veranda.
Kihei is warm in August and some other months. Other reviewers have written, correctly, that AC would be nice. But when you are in Hawaii, on Maui, relax and enjoy it as it is.
We all had an absolutely great time at this place. If we ever need a Maui rental home of this size, we'll be sure to consider it."

"If you are looking for a gorgeous residential style home right on the beach this is the place for you! It has so much room, a nice kitchen, and a great backyard perfect for BBQ. It's well kept and maintained. Only suggestion would be to put curtains upstairs in the master bedroom cause the sun comes in bright and early. At least we were able to get up early and enjoy the area however. Our favorite place to eat within walking distance was coconuts. Amazing fish tacos and great service. The grocery store and many shops are near by also. I love this side of the island and we loved staying at the gorgeous place right on the beach."
