  • perfect for those on the go

"the descriptions were 100% accurate! the location is super easy is you are coming and going - to the pool, to the beach, out and about. If you are looking for cushy environment for hanging in the condo the whole time, I would have selected a unit higher up with a view. That is not our style though - we had all we needed: a clean, spacious shower; a comfortable bed; a well equipped kitchen (and being on the ground floor, we had excellent access to the BBQ). The hide a bed, was a typical hide a bed - not super comfy, but there if you need it."

  • Maui Wowie!!!

"We stayed here for our 1st visit to Maui this July, in the Plumeria bldg. The condo was exactly as described. It is one of 12 in this building that fully face the ocean. It should be noted that every unit on this property faces towards the ocean, but most are at an angle. We traveled w/ our 2 daughters, ages 17 & 18. They stayed in the front bedroom which has an adjoining bathroom w/tub/shower & separate sink area. My husband & I took the master bedroom which also had an adjoining bathroom w/shower & separate sink area. The master bedroom has a private balcony on the corner of the unit with a view of not only the ocean, but also the volcano, Haleakala. The kitchen, dining, & living areas were also spacious. We entertained family who was in another unit & sat 8 of us comfortably in the living room. There is a larger balcony off the living room with a spectacular view of the ocean. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything one needs to whip up a meal. The dishwasher was also a welcome relief! There were 2 TVs; 1 in the master & 1 in the living room. There were plenty of towels & extra sheets, pillows, etc. There were even beach chairs, snorkel gear, etc. available. The property also has a pool & hot tub, plus a kiddie pool. It's a quiet area with plenty of room & beautiful surroundings. There are several bbqs next to the pool area. We were not impressed with the property's sauna & decided to skip it. A laundry room is located on about every other floor. The beach is a short stroll through the back grounds of the property. While it's a bit rockier than other beaches, it is a swimmable area. There isn't a whole lot of sitting room, but it makes for a lovely stroll at sunset. Overall, this was an incredibly rewarding experience! We would highly recommend this property and this particular unit. Each unit is different, so be sure to read as much as you can before you decide on 1. You'll also want to rent a car so you can explore the town & the rest of the island. We will definitely be back!"

  • Beautiful Stay!!!

"Needed a quick stay for a weekend on the dry side of the island! Have stayed at another location with Lisa so was sure to hit her up for availability! Very grateful for the use of your home! Everything was wonderful, as usual!!"

  • Breathless View & the Beach

"My husband and I enjoyed 12 glorious days at Kauhale Makai in Village by the Sea. Our 1 bedroom 1-bath 5th floor condo was welcoming and spacious. Our large lanai was accessible from the living room or bedroom. The unit was comfy with a full kitchen and a TV in both the living and bedroom. This unit is air conditioned but was not needed much during the tradewinds. Our lanai overlooked the pool and BBQ areas and provided an excellent view of the ocean. It was great to just sit on the lanai and enjoy the fabulous view. Everyone was friendly and helpful in providing directions, etc, The pool was so refreshing after returning from touring. We made a habit of taking our folding chairs down to the beach around 6:15 p,m to enjoy the fantastic sunsets. The owner was helpful from start of the reservation process to the end of our stay. What a delightful gentleman. Since our arrival would be late night, he provided clear directions and instructions for parking and entering the unit using the keyless system. The condo comes equipped with plates, silver, and pots/pans as well as some spices and condiments. The kitchen was equipped with a full-sized fridge, dishwasher, stove, coffee maker, toaster, and microwave. Also available for use were beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear, cooler, and towels. We enjoyed restaurants and excursions from Wailea/Makena to Kapula and loved every minute of our stay. Area restaurants: Goose/McGillicuty (Kihei); KOA's - Hardrock Cafe - Cool Cat's (Lahaina); Roy's (Kaanapali); and the restaurant at the Kapula Plantation Clubhouse (Kapula). Shows: Al Moana Luau at Marriott Wailea; Warren & Annabelle Magic Show (Lahaina). Excursions: Sunrise on Mt. Haleakala (pick up at 2:30 a.m. but worth getting up for) Quicksilver Sunset Dinner Cruise; and Trilogy cruise to Lanai with island tour and beach party/BBQ (left from Lahaina - Fantastic trip) We realized quickly that we now prefer the "condo" experience over staying at hotels. Now we are saving our earned vacation time for a return visit in 2017, Mahalo for a wonderful visit."
