  • Would do it again

"Half of our ten-day Maui vacation was spent at this comfortable beach home. For our group of 9 (3 generations, ages 6 to 79), we chose this site for close access to water activities, especially snorkeling and a trip to Molokini. The house is modern, well furnished and maintained, and the management had provided careful instructions about parking, trash pickup, and other details. Our contact was very prompt and thorough in responding to our questions. The beach is just beyond the back lawn well supplied with palms and other trees. It is pleasant to take the furnished lawn chairs into the shade and watch the local egrets as they shuttle up and down the flyway. A small flock of chickens enjoy the freedom of the large back yard, unmarred by fences. Don footwear on your first trip to the beach. The sandy path collects nuts and twigs dropped from the trees. While on the narrow beach watch closely and try to spot the tiny translucent crab-like sand residents as they scamper away from your path; they are invisible when not moving. Swimming and snorkeling are probably better on other stretches of Kihei beaches, but here you might see parasailers and windsurfers hot-dogging when wind and waves get lively in the afternoon. Keep your eyes open for the geckos that are common in these climates. We detected one that seemed to hang out behind a picture on the downstairs wall, and a (different?) one that lived behind a light fixture outside below the upstairs veranda. Kihei is warm in August and some other months. Other reviewers have written, correctly, that AC would be nice. But when you are in Hawaii, on Maui, relax and enjoy it as it is. We all had an absolutely great time at this place. If we ever need a Maui rental home of this size, we'll be sure to consider it."

  • Kihei R & R

"Our needs we're met well in this complex. This was our third stay here but first for this unit. All are basically the same. We had a few issues which were dealt with swiftly by the owner. We appreciated their responses and enjoyed every day on Maui."

  • Awesome Stay

"What an awesome stay I had at Kihei Bay Surf. I can't even begin to tell all of you's how awesome. The condo has everything you will need, from pots and pans to beach chairs and boogie boards. When I first walked in the door,I knew the place was clean because of the very clean scent.I got in at night so I had no idea what to expect of the view from the lanai.Well it is ocean view, and you just a hop, skip,& jump to get to the beach.A minute and a half, from exiting the door to the ocean. There are lots of stores and restaurants around everywhere,so no problem getting anything you need. Although I only used the pool and hot tub once,I found it very clean.Everybody who lives in Kihei Bay Surf was really friendly, very helpful, and very welcoming.I will be coming back to this resort when I come back to Maui.Thank you very much Lisa, for making my stay so comfortable. Mahalo,Ronnie"

  • Outstanding Unit and Location!

"We stayed at this unit for our 25th Anniversary. What a wonderful location and unit! The condo was clean, beautifully updated and quiet. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the Lanai every morning with a lovely ocean view. The sand beach far surpassed our expectations as we enjoyed many morning walks and sunset strolls. A grocery store is only half a block away. We also enjoyed dining at nearby Cuatro's, The Brick Oven and Coconuts. For eating in, the grills are well-maintained and a pleasure to use. The kitchen is well-equipped! Thank you, Brenda and Kelly, for the special touches to make our arrival so warm and welcoming! Best Wishes to you! Mahalo"
