  • Best deal I've had in a long time

"For us, this condo was absolutely perfect. Here are the things we look for: + close to the beach, I love to hear the surf: 100% - if you fell off the Lanai, you'd be on the beach + sunsets, I'm a sucker for Hawaiian sunsets: 100% - lanai faces west, with a 270 degree view of the ocean. + walking distance to other beaches: 100% - Kihei town beaches are right there, and a shoreline hike is really easy. Kihei is a real town with real residents. So you wont be in a "Resort Cocoon" + Clean: 100% - the condo was spotless, and the property was well-maintained and very comfortable. + workable kitchen: 100% - everything you'd expect. Plus basic items like sugar, salt/pepper and numerous spices and condiments are stocked. + Affordable - I won't rate this because everyone's budget is unique. But for us, this was an excellent deal. I have stayed in many, many properties on all the islands, and especially on Maui. You can pay a lot more and get a lot less."

  • Another great time in Kihei

"This is the third time we have stayed at this property and it won't be our last. The location we love and the layout is great since you don't hear the traffic noise just the small water feature. We didn't rent a car and didn't miss it. When the sun is hot on the Lanai we go sit at the pool. Thank you Greg for your hospitality Great renovation work"

  • Best place for a winter get away

"I have just finished a little over 3 week stay in Bryan and Suzi’s studio condo and it was pretty great! Their recent renovations have improved the condo immensely. The locals will tell you that this has not been a great winter weather wise for them but for those of us on vacation it was not bad. I managed to miss the rain except for the last day but did have several days of more wind than I am used to. I know this is unusual. The condo is very well equipped and certainly comfortable and cozy. The bathroom and shower are spacious and clean. The new kitchen is really nice although I would prefer a double sink when there is no dishwasher. Suzi explained that they opted for more counter space which is certainly nice as well. At first I thought the dishes etc were a little sparse but in actual fact there was everything I needed even when I entertained for dinner a couple of times. My guests love to come over and enjoy the sunset from the lanai – perfect view. And whales to boot! This year the resort was actually enforcing the ‘No Glass in the Pool area and BBQ area’ and fortunately this condo had adequate plastic glasses, plates and pans to take there. A couple of tinfoil plates to take smaller items to the BBQ are easily purchased if needed. Nice touches like hand soap, and dish soap as well as a starter of TP and paper towel are provided. Special laundry detergent is also supplied by the resort for free at the office. And a new portable drying rack means those of us who like a 'green option' can hang up some items to dry! Nice. Bryan and Suzi are very accommodating and easy to work with. They respond almost immediately to either email or phone inquiries and seem to go the extra mile for their guests. I have stopped spreading the word around that Kihei Akahi is really the best complex in the best location in all of Kihei. So convenient to walked directly across the street to a wonderful beach that never seems to be tooooo crowded. Great for days when it is just too hot to bother driving to another beach (this is nice to do some days as well). Local amenities are more than adequate nearby."

  • Maui Vista review by a fellow LJ friend.

"We loved this condo. It was very comfortable for the 4 of us and had all the conveniences one needs on a vacation. We appreciated the fully equipped kitchen, the washer and dryer, and the beautiful views of the sunset that the lanai provided every night. The location was great too- right across the street from a very nice beach and conveniently located in the middle of Maui, so we could drive easily to Lahaina, the airport, or the top of the volcano. I would definitely stay here again!"
