"I was searching quite a bit for a vacation rental in Maui for our Summer trip. We are a family of 4 - consisting of myself, my husband, and my 14 and 11 year old boys. At first, I was looking for a 2 bedroom rental, but the cost was too high, so I started looking for a 1 bedroom. I was so glad to find this unit! My kids do not like to share a bed, so having the murphy bed and the pull out couch was perfect. There is a/c and a ceiling fan in the living room and the bedroom has a ceiling fan only. We didn't mind it at all, the nights are fairly cool in Maui, but you have the option to sleep in the living room with the a/c if its gets too hot. Both the murphy bed and pull out couch can sleep 2 each. Maui Vista is a very well managed property and security is tight. There are 3 buildings and each building has a pool, bbq, and tennis courts. The unit itself is steps away from the pool - from the back lanai and at the front door, you go out and the bbq is right there. Love the fact that it was on the first floor and you can lock the back sliding door. The property is very quiet, but keep in mind we went in late August, a slower season. This unit has everything you need - the washer/dryer is perfect, there is a stove, all the utensils and plates you need, there are condiments as well - so make sure you check out the unit first before you buy stuff at the grocery store. Maui Vista is directly across the street from Charley Young beach and the unit has everything you need to bring to the beach including beach toys, chairs, towels and boogie boards. So it was super easy to just grab everything and walk over across the street everyday. Maui Vista is also very central to all the amenities - especially the shaved ice stand! :) There's an ABC store (like a 7-11 corner store) close by, there's a Foodland grocery store that has everything. You don't really need a car in Maui, but it's helpful. Laurie, the owner, was super friendly and very easy to communicate with! Lightning fast replies via email and on the phone. We really loved this unit and we would recommend it to anyone. The only suggestion I have is to perhaps get some smaller plates for the unit."Guest: Zinnia J. "We have rented several times before on VRBO in Hawaii and have not been disappointed once, however, this house is the best. The house was very clean and had all amenities. The pools and patio area was great. Music system was wonderful with outdoor speakers. The owner had the pool serviced and cleaned for us three times in the 8 days we stayed and also included maid service. The best thing is the beach (location, location, location), just steps away from the house, which we were able to look out onto from a nice wooden tree bench. Also, the sunsets every evening from our backyard. We love this house and will be back."Guest: todd l. Date of Stay: December 2013 Review Submitted: December 26, 2013View listing
"My husband and I stayed in this condo for 8 days in June. We also got married during this time, at Charley Young Beach, across the road. The condo is the second building from the road so there is very little noise from the road. The condo is well decorated and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The AC unit is located off the balcony, which is at the opposite end of the bedroom. We kept the bedroom door open (it was just the two of us) to ensure that the cold air would reach the bedroom. There is a ceiling fan in the bedroom and a stand-up fan that came in handy. Internet was fast and reliable. There is a concierge for the resort who could make various arrangements from surf lessons to massage appointments. We did not make use of the concierge service though. We did not use the pool or tennis courts but they looked clean and well maintained. We preferred the ocean. We used the BBQ on a couple of nights. The kitchen was well equipped. The dishwasher and clothes washer and dryer were very convenient. Booking of the condo went smoothly. We liked that there was no cleaning or resort fee, which many other resorts charge. Beach chairs, cooler, boogie boards, and umbrella made visits to the beach very comfortable. Overall, we would recommend this unit to friends and family. We particularly liked that the unit was tiled, with no carpet anywhere."Guest: Duyen L. Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: August 24, 2014View listing
