  • Owner is awesome

"The owner is awesome. She is compassionate and understanding of people's circumstances and flexible and more than fair. When I had a situation that impacted her, she didn't complain or become self-centered, even though she had every right to. Instead, she found a way to help me. This speaks volumes of her character and how she understands the human element of being in business in the travel industry. It is quality people like her that make the difference. When you know they care about the guest at this level, you know the accommodations they are providing are of top notch quality and you will be treated properly and fairly. So I highly recommend this location not just because it is a great place but it is managed by a great owner too, which makes it 6 stars but the site only allows for 5."

  • A fabulous Xmas holiday in Kihei!

"The following letter is to the owner of the condo...because I felt I personally knew her and she knew me after a couple phone conversations and emails in preparation for the stay! Dear _____, I can't thank you enough for renting your Kihei condo to us! It fit our family perfectly and had all the things we needed. We had great weather...including a couple rainy days when we needed to stay out of the sun. We had a horrific storm one night that rattled the sliding glass doors and flooded some streets on the island. My husband and I took a "drive" that rainy day because we couldn't play on the beach, and in Kahului, Dairy Rd was HIGH water, top of our rental car's wheel wells. We made it through the stoplights of town and then pulled into the Bailey Historical House in Wailuku. With relief to be off the road, we enjoyed the video and museum and learned all about the Baileys!! I think I told you we stayed at Kihei Alii Kai 30 years ago, with my parents, and we feel the whole complex has been thoroughly cared for and is just as perfect as ever. The street is still dead-end, and the land next door undeveloped, the pool and hot tub wonderful, the barbecue grills big and powerful, well-kept grounds, quiet and friendly neighbors......on and on! I did the hiking and adventure seeking I hoped for. Four of us went zip-lining at the Tropical Plantation - where they take young ones as little as my 7 yr old grand-son. It's kind of a baby zipline --- but JUST perfect for me. I hiked an 11 mile hike into Haleakala and at the other end of the island near Kapulua, we found the Dragon's Teeth, the Blowhole, the Ohia Point hike, and also the Waihe'e Ridge Trail --- all great fun. Great swimming at Kameole I (a mere 5 minute walk from the condo in bathing suits and barefoot!)and other beaches and my kids went three times to Cafe O'Lei right next door they liked it so much. I could go on and on --- great trip. Thank you. Take care."

  • Nice place...

"It was our tenth year anniversary when I first heard of VRBO condos. The wife wanted to go to Maui and we found this gem of a condo built in the 1980's right accross the street from the beach. It was kind of big for just the two of us, and thought it perfect for a party of four - possibly more. It's located in the perfect spot in Kihei. It has its own swimming pools and tennis court, barbecue pit, and close to all amenities to gather your goods to stay put at the complex and beach. The unit is totally self contained on the top floor and is an end unit of the complex. we found the privacy as perfect as the view from the patio overlooks a pool, the street, and the beach - with well landscaped grounds. there are no nosy/noisy neighbors that can peer in as there are no units directly across from your view - perfect for our romantic getaway. We found the washer and dryer exceptionally useful as we travel light and are able to avoid those costly laundry charges that you find at most resorts/hotels. I would recommend renting a car if you wanted to see all the sites of Maui, but if you and your family just wanted beach and complex activities there is no need for it. My wife and I would surely look to book this VRBO again if we were to return to Maui. A good to excellent stay!"
