Recent Kihei Bay Surf reviews

  • Pleasant stay, great location

"We were quite satisfied with the condo at Kihei Bay Surf. While the unit is a bit older, it was a very comfortable stay. The condo was well-appointed with all of the necessities for our 2-week stay. The building felt very safe and secure; neighbors were friendly; and laundry facilities were excellent. If you're familiar with Kihei, the building is located near the north end of Kihei. Great access to highways of you're looking to do a lot of commuting. We found it pretty slow going in the center of Kihei and preferred this quiet location. Noise from the road was never a huge concern. If you're used to the noise of the mainland, you won't be bothered here. The only issue we found was with the choice of window coverings. Being a ground level suite, the window shades weren't very private. From the street, you could see clearly in, even with the closed shades. The provided folding screen was appreciated, but it only covered a small portion of the patio door. Aside from that small issue, which the owner has tried to remediate, we would recommend this to any couple looking for a cost-effective and comfortable stay."

  • Lovely Condo in Paradise

"My fiancé and I stayed at this lovely condo in paradise for about two months during last summer. It was VERY clean, nicely decorated, and provided everything we needed for our long stay. In addition, the pool and hot tub were kept up very well. The condo was right across from a nice beach, Ko`ie`ie Fishpond, and the Humpback Whales Sanctuary Visitor Center. Watching sunsets from this beach was truly breathtaking. Also, there is a bus stop right outside of the condo complex making it easy to go on grocery runs without having a car and also to the Maui Ocean Center Aquarium (where I was interning at). The kitchen (including all of its appliances, utensils, plates, cups, cookware) was perfect for making our own meals during our stay. Also, the Owners were wonderful and didn’t hesitate to answer any questions about the condo that I had. They even gave great recommendations for places to visit. I would highly recommend this condo for short and long stays. Especially if you’re on a budget because it is reasonably priced. I definitely will try and stay at this condo again next time I’m visiting Maui. Many Thanks. Mahalo!"

  • Shyluk's on Maui

"Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The stay was good. When the repairs were made to the bathroom leak, a plastic cover should have been put up to cover the hole in the ceiling. The repair people were very nice and everyone apologized for the inconvenience, but, there really is not much a person can do in a situation like this."

  • Perfect rental for us

"This studio condo in north Kihei was perfect for us. It has absolutely everything you need as others have described, and we really appreciated the hiking trails and Maui guidebooks. While it's an older condo complex, it was very clean and we liked that it wasn't a highrise resort, was very relaxed and the pool/hot tub/grill was closeby. The beach across the street was great for sunsets (as was the Indian restaurant). While No. Kihei is not the most scenic (a lot of mini malls) that made for lots of affordable restaurants and the location is perfect for travel to all parts of the island. Our favorite snorkeling was in So Kihei and south of there - turtles and monk seals at Makena Landing beach! On the road to Hana be sure to stop at Waianapanapa state park and walk a bit along the cliff trail from the black sand beach parking lot. Mel was the perfect 'landlord' - he sent us snorkeling info ahead of time and was amazingly accommodating when we almost had to cancel due to illness and then got there a day late due to airline issues. We would definitely recommend this property, and if Hawaii weren't so far away from Vermont we'd happily stay there again!"
