"Excellent location, being on the north end of Kihei, away from the downtown commercial area, with a lovely beachfront for swimming, beach walking, paddleboarding and acting as a central base for adventuring the entire island: ie) sightseeing, hiking, road biking, snorkelling trips to Molokini from nearby Malaea . This is a lovely condo on 6th floor offering the comforts of home and views of ocean and mountains from living room and lanai. Hwy traffic can be heard from lanai or open patio screen door and bedroom windows. We turned on fans in bedroom at night which drowned out traffic noise so was never an issue and provided cooler air at night. We had some meals out front on outdoor oceanfront patio which is equipped with bbq's, fridge and patio tables/chairs/ shade umbrellas as well as lounging furniture. Indoor air conditioning in living room was so nice during the daytime. Highly recommended!"Guest: Catherine R. Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: May 14, 2014View listing
"My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks in April celebrating our 20th anniversary. The condo was everything it was advertised to be and we were extremely happy. The beach towels, cooler and beach chairs came in very handy. When we weren't walking on the beautiful sandy beach or driving around the island we spent most of our time on the lanai. There was a lovely breeze every afternoon that cooled us down and we enjoyed watching the sun set from there each evening. I really appreciated the book exchange, as I only brought a couple with me. The supermarket is just up the street, golf course nearby and lots of restaurants, so everything was very convenient. We will definitely be back for another 2 weeks!"Guest: Lesley K. "For our 9-night family vacation on Maui, we had the following criteria for finding a place to stay: - two bedrooms (my husband are done with vacations where we share a king-size bed with our toddler and 6 year old, and we aren't big hide-a-bed fans) - right on the beach, no roads to cross - laundry facilities available (Bring quarters with you if you plan to do laundry -- the washing machine is $2/load and the dryer is $1.75/load.) - a beach that's swimmable for the kids and has nice sand for them to play with - centrally located in case we wanted to drive up to Haleakala early in the morning This condo met all the criteria at an amazingly low (for Maui) price, and the owners were great to deal with. The drive to Haleakala was cut short by the toddler's altitude sickness, but the location was ideal anyway -- I don't think there's anywhere (other than the neighbouring condos) in Kihei that's as close to Kahului or the road to Lahaina, and we ended up loving Sugar Beach so much we didn't drive around to other beaches as much as we'd expected to. It was wonderful to be able to just walk from the condo to the ocean and, after a quick stop at the outdoor shower to wash off the sand, head back in for lunch. We only used the pool once -- it was well-maintained but the ocean was better. It was a short walk to the nearby farmer's market, but the rest of Kihei's a quick drive away. The condo was very clean and comfortable, and well stocked with Disney movies for the kids. We used both the sand toys provided by the owners and those provided by Nani Kai Hale in a cabinet by the outdoor bbqs. The complex is quite quiet -- we met many friendly retirees hanging out on the lounge chairs by the beach -- so this may not be the spot for families with teens or young adults."Guest: Christina S. "We enjoyed a week in this nice condo. We would recommend to others. Cons- street noise, screen and sliding doors hard to open, blinds in master bedroom don't work. Electric stove. Pros- Very clean. Well appointed kitchen. Great view from balcony. Lots of space for family of 4, great child-friendly beach just outside. Very well stocked with beach equipment - enjoyed snorkeling, boogie boarding, and the chairs! Lots of towels. Washer/dryer. Great location -near shopping, especially Ululani's Shave Ice. No need for A/C - this place is cool and breezy. Would happily book this condo again if we return to Maui. Thank you!"Guest: MMMN4 Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 9, 2014View listing
