"This condo is located in a complex on a corner and just across the street form Kam Beach 3. This is a great beach, with easy access snorkeling, and great sunset views. The bathrooms and showers are not typical of every public beach. Also, there is a boat ramp just north of the beach, from which some snorkeling tours leave, which is convenient. And, Kam Beach 2 is adjacent, and a good boogie board beach. Our first night we walked to dinner to Fred's Mexican, and found a wonderful jewelry shop called Aloha Jewelry, where 70% of the items are Hawaiian made. It was easy to get to anywhere from this location, whether you choose to travel South Kihei road to check out restaurants and stores, or the highway road to get somewhere quickly.
The condo itself is on the 3rd floor, with an elevator, and easy access to the stairs. The space is airy and full of light. The kitchen is well stocked, with a dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer. We quickly got in the habit of leaving our shoes and snorkel bags on the linoleum, to limit the sand in the carpet. If you plan to be there in July, as we were, and are not accustomed to humidity, the lack of air conditioning may be a concern. There had to be 10 floor fans, but with temperatures in low 90's and lots of humidity, the condo could be uncomfortable in the late afternoons and early evenings. We learned to go out for a drive or plan an activity in the late afternoons rather than plan to be in the condo.
We chose this condo for the location and due to it having two single beds in the 2nd bedroom rather than just one queen bed. Out 16 and 22 year old sons really did not need to sleep in the same bed. The complex was quiet (except for the inevitable leaf blowers), and well maintained. Covered parking was a wonderful bonus. Also, a hose near the pool made sand removal from shoes and snorkel bags very easy. I also used the hose to wash down the (condo supplied) beach chairs and the floor mats in our rental the day we flew out. The trunk of that car was full of sand due to our snorkel adventures!"
