Just Like House-Sitting In Your Best Friend's Home Away From Home!
"We traveled to Kihei thinking we'd be staying in an ordinary "vacation condo". When we first entered the well-equipped, well-furnished Unit B101, we felt as though we had a close friend who had invited us to house-sit her perfect home-away-from-home! Truly, the owner, treats her guests royally; she even phones from her home in Canada to make sure there is nothing one needs. Complete beach equipment, games, books and even canvas shopping bags and a sewing kit, one finds everything here. Amazing.
There is a booklet containing useful info and a list of the owner's family's favorite restaurants. We especially enjoyed Cafe O'Lei and Eskimo Candy (a great reasonaly-priced fish restaurant) and would recommend our own favorite, Leoda's Kitchen & Pie Shop. Leoda's is located on road to Lahaina at about Mile 15, Olowalu. Three times we stopped for Savory Pies to take back to condo to heat and enjoy for dinner.
While Kam 3 is right across the street from the condo complex, we also found good snorkeling in front of Day's Inn (Keawakapu beach); Ulua Beach, Wailea; Makena Landing beach park; and Airport beach by the Westin Resort in Kaanapali. A good spot to find Maui souvenirs is the weekly Swap Meet from 7 am - 1 pm Saturdays at Maui Community College, Kahului.
We first discovered Maui in the 1980's and found food expensive compared to the mainland but no more. Visitors now have Costco, WalMart and Target in Kahului! With such conveniences for food shopping and this beautiful condo, no need to look elsewhere for an enjoyable and economical vacation."

"Haleakala Shores condo was a great place to stay. Great location and had extra amenities that wasn't expecting. A few minute walk to beach so can watch sunset and snorkel and few minute drive to Kihei to enjoy sightseeing and shopping. Nice and quiet place to stay."

"We were two senior couples and this was our second time in this condo. We have stayed several times at this complex. Can't beat the great beaches, across the street for a twice daily swim. The condo was very nice and clean with tons of extras. Will definitely be back several times. The beach gear and coolers came in quite handy."

"My husband and I celebrated our birthdays spending two weeks in this lovely, tastefully decorated and comfortable condo. The entire complex is beautifully maintained and the condo was clean and organized. The short walk to Kamaole Beach III is an easy one with beach gear in hand. Umbrellas, beach chairs, lovely towels, boogie boards, snorkel gear & small coolers available on site. We enjoyed walking to local coffee shops, restaurants, bars, gift shops and convenience stores. It is a quick drive to the Shops at Wailea for more premier shopping and Wednesday evening entertainment. There are other beautiful nearby beaches within 10-15 minutes South. Heading north is a beach view drive to Lahaina for a taste of old Maui and more tourist shops and restaurants. We also ventured along the north shore for an afternoon. It is an easy drive to the Haleakala Volcano and the Needles which are fabulous. We made the entire loop to Hana and beyond following the useful guide and CD available for guests. We ate several meals in and found all we needed to prepare meals easily. There is also a very nice pool with a beautiful area for barbecues and gatherings. On more than one occasion the giant sea turtles made their way into the small cove at the south end of Kamaole III and also may be found when snorkeling near the rocks to the north. We can't wait to bring our children and grandchildren with us for the next trip!"
