  • A Fantastic Stay

"This was my first Maui visit and first VRBO stay, and I would stay here again without hesitation. The owner (Gary) was friendly, helpful and responsive and the condo was clean and well maintained. The location is exceptional --- it is the 3rd closest unit to the ocean and overlooks a gorgeous beach (Keawakapu) that is great for walking, sunning or snorkeling. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves every night was dream-like. The unit slept four comfortably in two separate good-sized bedrooms. The keyless entry was a great feature as we were able to go from the unit to the swimming pool in 2 minutes or to snorkeling in the ocean in 3 minutes without having to carry any keys or wallets. On afternoons without any breezes having a/c throughout the unit was terrific. The cabinets and furniture are in excellent condition and appear to have been upgraded fairly recently. The lanai is on the small side, but we could still squeeze a family of four onto it for dinner and the trade-off of a smallish lanai for an exceptional dining view was fully worth it. The kitchen was fairly well stocked, and two sit-down dining options were within steps of the unit while very nice (and more reasonably priced) take-out options were a very short drive away. In addition, the building has a decent-sized mini-mart and equipment rental store on the ground floor. The unit has internet access for those who need to stay connected, and previous guests had left copies of Maui Revealed for those who would rather not stay connected. Laundry facilities are located on each floor of the building (about 15 units per floor). Highly recommended."

  • Great location and the perfect condo unit for a family vacation in Maui!!!

"We highly recommend this condo. Having stayed at the Maui Kamaole previously, this location is ideally located with great access to the beach and walking distance for all one needs in Kihei. This unit is in a quiet location, was equipped with everything required, and was exactly as described. The owner was prompt and helpful with any questions or concerns, and our vacation was entirely relaxing! We would definitely stay here again!"

  • Excellent value, great hosts and very pleased

"With any review context is critical. We have small ones, and don't like to sit still so having the most flexibility is key, that and getting the most value for our dollar. We also wanted to be very close to the beach while not spending a fortune, yet have accommodations that reflected a slightly higher end experience. To say the least we were very pleased. The key piece was the very open kitchen that has very non-typical high-end touches courtesy of owners that really have a good eye and are making great investments. From the super silent dish washer to the top of the line fridge with water/ice dispenser (trust me that is useful), it had all any family should need. The rest of the accommodations more than met our expectations. The master bed was good and the pull out was perfect for our 2 kids. We hear there may be a mattress upgrade for the pullout making it a better option for adults too. The sand toys and other accessories were great, but think of the snorkel gear as more for trial to see if you like it. You may be better served by something that is specifically fitted to your size/needs. Of the units in Kamole Sands, this the nicest we saw. The night we checked in there was another guest in the lobby complaining and wanting an "upgrade". Thankfully we knew exactly what we were getting unlike what can happen with other ways of renting units in this complex. Overall the location is close to some rather good restaurants. Don't skip Kehei Cafe (looks low rent, and it may be, but the quality and variety were great). Also just down the road a bit more in Wailea Monkey Pod and Pita Paradise were excellent. Being close to the beach was excellent , a short walk to the front of the complex and across the low traffic road and we had some amazing beaches with a great view, good snorkeling and more. The complex also had nice grounds and a good pool with a separate kids pool and two hot tubs with one for adults only. Parking is tightly controlled and can be a bit tight, but this will be typical for the island in general. Overall noise was more than acceptable during our stay. It appeared the complex was overall about half full so that may be a factor, but this did not appear to be a party place so I would expect much as we experienced at any time. We generally liked that it was on the ground floor. For a first trip to the island we are very pleased with our value, location and the overall experience and expect to do it again soon."
