  • Relaxing get away at good value

"We stayed here for a week and, overall, it was positive. Pat and the staff we dealt with at Ali'i Resorts were wonderful. The location is as described - steps away from an incredible beach and close to shops, restaurants, etc. The unit was clean but the pictures do make it higher end than it actually is. A few of the linens and furnishings are not as pictured. It was great to have all of the conveniences of home and the complex was fairly quiet (aside from some road noise, Kihei is a pretty busy spot). The lanai was wonderful, and even the partial ocean view was breathtaking. Also, we usually had the pool to ourselves when we wanted it. There are a couple things to keep in mind about this suite. First, it has very hard tile throughout. This is great for sweeping up the sand that will inevitably be tracked in but it was not ideal for our incredibly active infant. Second, and we should have realized this from the pictures, there are only showers and no bathtub. Finally, there is a small green space right outside the master bedroom and the birds will probably wake you up. This was fine for us because we're up with the kids anyway, but not ideal for night people. Locally, we enjoyed eating at the Kihei Caffe. Surprisingly, Denny's actually has the best loco moco. Get them to do it with the fried rice!"

  • Home away from Home

"What a wonderful vacation we had this year. Although we have stayed at a different unit in this resort for several years, this was our first stay at this unit. We loved it. It had absolutely everything you could need. If anything is needed for my vacation, I will generally buy it and leave it behind, however, I didn't have need of a single thing! Right down to the perfect margarita glasses! My husband and I love this resort and its location. The owners called us the evening we checked in to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They were just a call away if we had any questions at all. The neighbors are welcoming and the resident managers are a constant source of Aloha! The funishings were very fresh and comfortable, and the bed was great. Very clean and well maintained. We intend to return again next year! It's our Maui home away from home. Thanks for providing everything we needed for a wonderful vacation."

  • Excellent appearance and excellent amenties in the kitchen

"Better suited to an older couple. I have been to Sugar Beach more than 20 times in the past 30 years and love being on the upper floors for the view....however, this unit was very cold and sterile ....no CD's, playing cards, games, personal pictures or a guest log book in which to share experiences. It was lovely but very impersonal, and I would prefer a "warmer" kind of unit in the future. The manager, Stephanie, was very kind and helpful, and she is certainly an asset to your unit."
