  • Nice spot to hang your hat

"Wonderful view, nice place. I've stayed in this complex before but wanted a two bedroom for this trip. The unit is on the end of the complex facing the ocean, very nice views from both lanais on this second floor condo. The kitchen and bathrooms aren't spiffy and new, but they are clean and have everything you need. The living room has a beautiful new floor and comfy furniture. I had some trouble connecting with the internet, I didn't think to look in the desk drawers, but figured it out. Russ, the owner was helpful and responsive. He finally got ahold of me to check in, even though he was traveling on his own vacation. He was also willing to work with me on extending our stay if necessary due to the hurricanes headed towards the islands. There were beach chairs, cooler, and other beach things in the hall closet to use. This is one of the perks I love when staying a condos, aside from the kitchens and larger living spaces. Complex has BBQs, pool and hot tub, none of which we used this trip, although others seemed to enjoy. Also has air conditioning in all rooms, a huge bonus when you need it. Many condos only have main room air. Bedrooms were nice, but honestly, can't say the same for the beds. My mom took the extra blankets and put them under her sheets, said it made it more comfortable. I was too stupid to do that and instead had uncomfortable nights sleep for seven nights. The plus side is it gets you out of bed and starting your day of adventure much earlier. Even getting some kind of mattress topper would be a very nice improvement. After our stay here we spent two nights in Hana in a small studio cottage, but even sleeping in same bed with my mom was more restful because the bed was more comfortable. Overall, I would gladly recommend this condo, especially if you like hard beds. It's in a great location, well priced, nice and clean, has responsive owners, wonderful view, all the kitchen things you need and several other little touches. Kehei is a nice place to stay, it's a great jump off spot for exploring the island by car. It has bus service right outside the door if needed. It's close to many great beaches for hanging out, swimming and snorkeling and minutes away from both large grocery stores and smaller venues."

  • Great owner to deal with

"My husband and I stayed in this unit for nearly 3 weeks. The location of the unit is so convenient to every thing on the island. Richard, the owner, was so accommodating and helpful while we were planning our visit. Kamaole Sands is a well-kept complex, great BBQ's and very family-friendly."
