  • Lovely Spot

"This was a beautiful spot which has been recently very tastefully renovated. It was very well equipped. There is a large lanai with table, chairs and loungers, which faces toward the ocean. It was a pleasure dealing with the owner, who was very helpful and welcoming. Being across from the beach was a wonderful bonus. The grounds are amazing and well kept. The pool is well maintained. We would love to rerent this property in the future. In fact, our daughter and her husband have rented it for two week next summer and we recommended it to friends; however, it was not available during the winter months."

  • What a view! What a Stay!

"My family has stayed at the Hale Kamaole for years now. The views, location, casual but quiet atmosphere and ease of getting around has made it our home away from home. This year, we had the pleasure of spending a week in this unit and I'm so happy we found it. The view is fantastic on this side of the complex because the full sunset is visable. From the deck you can also see both pools, all of the grounds, the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other. The pictures posted are 100% accurate. The interior of the condo is very comfortable and clean with the 2 bedrooms (both of which has beautiful foliage views), the loft and enough seating in the public areas for a family of at least 4. The kitchen is very well stocked with enough spices and condiments to cook good, quick meals. I always appreciate finding a cupboard that has at least some basics, and this kitchen was better than most. All appliances are new and easy to use. Everything needed for a day at the beach can be found in the outdoor closet and the supply of beach towels is more than adequate. All of my communication with the owner of this condo was excellent! I trusted her completely from the beginning and her responsiveness throughout our reservation and stay was much appreciated. I also found the on-site manager/maintainance staff to be wonderful, attentive and helpful. Kamaole Beach III is right across the street. It's a very nice little cove with gentle waves to play in. Right next door is Kamaole II which is a large strip of beach that has the boogie boarder waves. A short drive south, is Keawakapu beach which is a hidden gem! A good size shady parking lot is across the street and the path to the beach is a very easy, short walk. It is the quintessential Hawaiian beach with a long curve of white sand, palm trees, and an peaceful, uncrowded ocean. A very short walk up the beach is the Mana Kai resort which rents paddle boards, kayaks... The Mana Kai is also home to Maui Yoga Path, which has a yoga class every morning on the beach, as well as many in their ocean front studio. Their program is geared for beginners as well as experienced guests, and I found it to be a welcome discovery! From start to finish our 2014 week in Maui was one of the best. The Hale Kamaole was a great as ever and I can't recommend this particular condo highly enough."

  • Maui Wowie!!!

"We stayed here for our 1st visit to Maui this July, in the Plumeria bldg. The condo was exactly as described. It is one of 12 in this building that fully face the ocean. It should be noted that every unit on this property faces towards the ocean, but most are at an angle. We traveled w/ our 2 daughters, ages 17 & 18. They stayed in the front bedroom which has an adjoining bathroom w/tub/shower & separate sink area. My husband & I took the master bedroom which also had an adjoining bathroom w/shower & separate sink area. The master bedroom has a private balcony on the corner of the unit with a view of not only the ocean, but also the volcano, Haleakala. The kitchen, dining, & living areas were also spacious. We entertained family who was in another unit & sat 8 of us comfortably in the living room. There is a larger balcony off the living room with a spectacular view of the ocean. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything one needs to whip up a meal. The dishwasher was also a welcome relief! There were 2 TVs; 1 in the master & 1 in the living room. There were plenty of towels & extra sheets, pillows, etc. There were even beach chairs, snorkel gear, etc. available. The property also has a pool & hot tub, plus a kiddie pool. It's a quiet area with plenty of room & beautiful surroundings. There are several bbqs next to the pool area. We were not impressed with the property's sauna & decided to skip it. A laundry room is located on about every other floor. The beach is a short stroll through the back grounds of the property. While it's a bit rockier than other beaches, it is a swimmable area. There isn't a whole lot of sitting room, but it makes for a lovely stroll at sunset. Overall, this was an incredibly rewarding experience! We would highly recommend this property and this particular unit. Each unit is different, so be sure to read as much as you can before you decide on 1. You'll also want to rent a car so you can explore the town & the rest of the island. We will definitely be back!"

  • December on Maui

"If you turn on the radio this time of year, you are bound to hear "The weather outside is frightful . . ." That can be true in Kansas as winter waltzes into town. So this year my wife and I spent ten days on Maui and found it ". . . so delightful." The condo was exactly as described. The instructions were easy to follow even in the dark (we arrived after sunset). The place was clean with everything in good order. I needed to work an hour or so most days; the highspeed internet worked fine every time. If you stream Hulu/Netflix/etc on your laptop, bring a HDMI cable and you're good to go with the 42" HDTV. The Kiehi Bay Vista (KBV) grounds are well maintained and the pool sparkled in the sunlight. Others staying at the KBV were considerate and quiet. We shopped at three grocery stores in Kihei and liked Supermarket Times in Central Kihei the best because of lower prices on some items on our list. Kihei Road is a major arterial, so you hear the traffic. But of course you come to Hawaii for the beaches, not to sit in the condo. We watched sunsets from the beach just across the street and have a few photos that will remind us of the lovely setting. We've been to Maui before, but this was our first time to go Upcountry. We enjoyed the Kula Botanical Garden and the Ali'i Kula Lavender Farm. We've been walking in the sand. It's time to go home and do some "walking in a winter wonderland.""
