"Thank you Jeri for sharing your wonderful vacation home. It had everything we wanted and more. We particularly enjoyed the kitchen and gas grill (highly usual on Maui) that enabled us to enjoy some of the fish indigenous to Hawaii and have dinner on the deck overlooking one of the pools and out to the ocean.
Everything else - the soaking tub and giant shower in the master bedroom, the lovely guest bedroom, a well-equipped laundry, and the living space - was perfect. And the short distance between the beach and the adult pool made for a lovely "day at the beach."
We hope to return sometime in the next 6-8 months, and this will be our first choice!"

We have been visiting south Kihei for many years and have stayed in several different resorts, but Hale Pau Hana is our favourite. We won't stay anywhere else! The resort is located adjacent to Kamaole Beach 2. There is a wide grassy lawn with several lounge chairs and the ocean and sand are just a few steps away. We liked the location of this unit at ground level - conveniently close to pool and barbecue, but as it is the last unit in the row the lanai and lawn area were quiet and more private than other ground level units. King size bed was very comfortable and bathrooms have been updated. Beach chairs, snorkels and toys were available. Kitchen had lots of dishes, utensils etc. Kitchen and living room area could use some updating and there were a few issues around maintenance but overall, the unit worked very well for us and we have already booked for next year! Wendi at Kumulani has been excellent to deal with, responding quickly to any questions I had."

"My family rented Hoku during a week in October. One week was not enough - we want to go back! My family of 7 (two grandparents, one Auntie, 2 kids ages 10 and 7 plus my husband and I all shared the house and had plenty of room and privacy.
The place was immaculate and everything was in good working order. We have rented before from a previous owner and in that unit the microwave did not work and some tv's were inoperable - it was so nice to have the staff from the Grand Wailea available if needed with this unit - but again everything in Hoku was working and perfect!
The Ho'olei concierge staff were so attentive, prompt and exceptional. We loved using the shuttle services to the main hotel since my parents were unable to walk long distances.
Ken, the owner, was great to work with and we can't thank him enough!
We just got home last night and are already planning our next trip!"

"Very local Kihei feel! Really nice, clean, comfortable 3 bedroom house in local neighborhood. Upstairs master has wonderful outdoor lanai facing mountain and great for morning coffee. Kitchen (nicely equipped), dining and living room all open. Rear has two bedrooms opening on to large covered rear lanai and secluded, quiet, very green, tree covered back yard (shared with 2 other rentals on same property but always quiet).
Only minor down side was not super close walkable to a sandy beach.
Friendly, responsive property manager even replaced the microwave that conked out within a day-ish of us reporting it."
