  • Good value and quiet!

"This was a pleasant place to stay if you choose to be in the Ha'iku/Makawao/Pa'ia area. I think it's best for two adults, but with the downstairs futon, one additional adult or several children could work. The kitchen and bathroom are well-quipped, which I consider to be generous on the part of the owner. The place was clean and very pleasant, in a nondescript neighborhood. Be mindful that the bedroom is upstairs and the one bathroom is downstairs, which may be an issue for older adults. I think that the little private courtyard could have been cleaned up with shrubs cut back to make it a more pleasant use. We were disappointed that there was no BBQ that we could use. There was a dilapidated grill that was hard to access and may not even have been functional. Devi was most pleasant and a genuinely caring owner who wanted to make sure our stay on her property was a good one. And it was. I think that the rental amount makes it a good value. I would stay there again if that area of Maui were our destination."

  • Loved our stay at this home!

"My wife and I absolutely loved our time in Haiku, at Holly's home! It was just perfect for us. It felt like home, was very private, quiet, and centrally located. I would recommend this place to anyone that is trying to find a little more privacy and wants more of a local feel. Everything was 10-15 mins away and easy to get to."

  • Maui vacation paradise

"My new wife and I spent 4 nights at the Starwind Cottage as our final destination of our honeymoon. This place was just a perfect place for us to end our honeymoon on Maui, very private and relaxing. I don't even know where to begin when it comes to describing how nice this property is. When you first pull up and walk in the only words that come to mind is, "Wow." To begin with we were very warmly welcomed and greeted by Bev, she helped us with our bags, gave us a quick tour of the cottage and the surrounding property and let us know if there was anything we needed to just let her know. From there she politely excused herself and left us to privately enjoy this paradise. The cottage couldn't be better appointed, and it truly makes you feel like you are at home. They pretty much have taken care of everything, from a comfy bed, sunscreen, great snacks, well appointed kitchen, and delicious fresh fruit. The view from the extremely large deck was just awesome, with the ocean to the one direction and the mountains to other direction and a hot tube to soak in and take all the great views in. The location of this cottage is really in a great place and is very centrally located to get to everything and is very close to some small towns with some great restaurants and shopping. Flatbreads in Paia has some amazing pizza. As an all I can't say enough good things about this property and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Maui. I know the next time we come back to Maui, we will defiantly stay there again."

  • Can't imagine a better place to stay on Maui

"My husband and I spent nine incredibly peaceful days at the Maui Pole House. It's quite a large house and would probably fit an army of a family but we were lucky enough to stay alone. It is impeccably well kept by Alain and Elisabeth, who are so kind and respectful of guests' privacy and needs. The grounds are spectacular, acres of fruit and palm trees, with a view of the sea through lush tropical growth and flowers all around you. All you hear are the birds and the breeze through the trees (and occasionally the knocking of a gecko -- they're pretty funny, harmless, and live in the eaves of the house). The house is airy and lovely and stocked with everything you could ever think to need. The pool and hot tub are divine (turn on the night lights, go for a midnight swim! We even swam in the rain, like a dream). Wish we could stay forever."
