  • Perfect

"Highlight of our entire Hawaii vacation! Cannot put into words how beautiful and perfect this place is. Fresh fruit at your doorstep, magical experience of shower by moonlight, amazing views. Walked from the doorstep 1.5 miles to Haleakala park 1st ones there. Exactly what a"vacation" should be. Anya thought of everything. I hope life finds us with the opportunity to visit again."

  • Excellent value and away from the crowds.

"Let me start off by saying I just finished my second stay at Max and Tracey’s place and am having a hard time believing Tim from Wichita stayed in the same place. The first time I stayed in the Windward Suite and this time I stayed in the Leeward suite. As another reviewer said this is not your sterile resort experience. If that’s what you expect, then Kihei, Wailea or Kaanapali is for you. If not, then you’ll be at a place that is off the beaten tourist path, close to the wonderfully quirky towns of Hai’ku (you have to try Tuk Tuk if you like Thai food) and Pa’ia, magnificent beaches, Jaws, Ho’okipa, a spectacular farmer’s market, Maui’s beautiful upcountry, Haleakala, Hana - the list goes on and on. The place is exactly as advertised. It is not a luxurious studio, but perfectly functional, clean and adequate for a great vacation, again assuming you are not looking for a resort experience. There are geckos (lizards) inside – Hawaiians consider them to be good luck. They eat the bugs. Smelled of mold? All I smelled was the Gardenias placed by the bed. The property is amazing, filled with fruit trees, a gulch and spectacular views of the Pacific and a nice walk to the end of the road with views of the North Shore’s cliffs. Max and Tracey (and Buttercup) are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Any problems are quickly taken care of. For example, one time there was no laundry detergent. Within 15 minutes, Max had some there. Maui is expensive. You will not find a better deal for $95/night – I've stayed in some at this price point and they are not as nice. And the place is legal and permitted, something you want to be sure of if you want to have a place to stay when you arrive. I’ll be back for another visit in a couple of months."

  • Wow!

"I came to Hawaii for the memorial service for my Dad who was full Hawaiian. After the ceremony on Oahu, I spent the last four days on Maui (who were staying at different locations) and didn't want to spend them in an urban setting. I searched other parts of the island for something more secluded and found this place. I couldn't have made a better decision. The only sounds at night was the breeze in the palms and the occasional tree frogs. Anjali and Alex were so friendly and gracious and there was everything I needed in the cottage. If you are looking for a place that is more like the Hawaii experience you expect, stay here."

  • Perfect vacation house in an excellent location

"Just got back from a ten day stay. It was our first time in Maui and we were so pleased with the house and location. Paia is an eclectic charming town that is the polar opposite of the touristy side(s) of Maui. The house is stunning and completely stocked with everything you could possibly want. The pictures posted above by the owner don't even begin to show how beautiful the house really is. The beds are all really comfortable with nice linens (I'm very picky about linens). My husband and I stayed in the upstairs bedroom and we literally fell asleep each night to the sound of crashing waves and a wonderful ocean breeze. We were all so sad to leave this house. Stop looking...rent this house."

Huelo Travel Tips

Huelo Beach Rentals: An Escape from Hawaii's Tourist Crowds

To experience Hawaii at its best, it is possible to get away from the crowds and have a relaxing vacation. Stay at Huelo beach rentals and you won't be dealing with crowded resorts, since the community of Huelo is bounded by the ocean and small farms and organic gardens. At Maui vacation rentals such as this, activities such as horseback riding, swimming, snorkeling, and even hiking are abundant. Twin Falls, a 127 foot high waterfall, accents the beauty of Maui's natural surroundings, as does the Waikamao Nature Trail.

Forget the Stress and Take in Nature at Its Purest

Huelo condos also give you and your companions space to enjoy their personal freedom. It is not like going back to a hotel room where everyone is on top of one another. Leave the stress behind and enjoy the peace of mind of a spacious, low-budget accommodation. Step outside and the mountains, ocean views, waterfalls, and lava cliffs will carry your mind away from the hectic life at home. Experience summer at the beach, and then travel 10,000 feet up Haleakala volcano where it can be downright chilly at the same time.

Nothing Like Geology and then a Home-Cooked Meal

Other interesting geologic features can be found at Iao Valley State Park, where there is a 2,250 foot stone pillar and lush plant life, providing for spectacular views. Travel the Road to Hana and see more picturesque landscapes at the Keanae Peninsula. The Hana Highway itself is a challenge, offering a path 52 miles long in three hours time. You'll surely want to lay back at the Huelo beach rentals afterward, even staying in for a home-cooked meal in the kitchen. At Huelo condos, you can choose to do anything you would normally do at home, if you don't already feel you're there.
