  • Rustic but very nice.

"When we pulled up we thought we were at the wrong place, from the road it looked like the entire place was under construction, but it turns out the second floor is under construction and this did not impact our stay at all. The home has beautiful large windows spanning the width and overlooking the ocean. Listening to the waves crashing is a real joy. The home is simple, but appears to be very clean. They have all of the necessities as far as cooking supplies, linens, towels, etc., and a few extra touches. I noticed some bugs in the kitchen. I think they are called invisible bugs? They seem to be common in Maui. The owner and his wife do not use any insect repellent which is probably a good thing considering the close proximity to the ocean. I think the bugs are basically harmless. In summary the place is not fancy, but it is very clean and quite suitable overlooking the ocean and within walking distance of the beach. This is a fine place to stay during your Hana adventure."

  • Very Comfortable, Affordable, Unique Accomodation with the Best Owners Ever!

"I have absolutely no complaints regarding Peace of Maui. Given the affordable price, my experience here actually exceeded my expectations. The owner, Tammi, and her husband Miko are friendly, accommodating, helpful, and fun to be around. Peace of Maui is sort of a cross between a bed and breakfast and a hostel. You and your party will have a private bedroom, but you share with other guests the bathrooms, showers, living room, kitchen and outdoor patio area. The showers are stocked with soap and extra shampoo, the living room is stocked with an endless array of books and brochures about Maui, the kitchen is stocked with dishes, fruit, and breakfast foods, and the patio sports a grill for anyone to use. Each guest also has a designated shelf space and refrigerator space in the kitchen to keep their own food. This makes it easy to eat in during your stay. The community living spaces allow guests to meet in a relaxed environment and share information or experiences with one another. The land that the main building and couple other separate guest houses is on is a couple acres and has a variety of fruit trees. The kitchen is restocked often with fresh fruit from these trees, and you can also pick one off the tree for yourself. Items such as coolers, beach mats and chairs, snorkel gear, etc is available for guests to borrow during their stay. The owner and her family live on the 2nd floor of the building, above the bed and breakfast, so it is easy to cross paths with them should you have a question or need anything. I cannot say enough good things about Tammi and Miko! It is clear that they love and take great pride in Peace of Maui by their hard work, the cleanliness of the place, and their willingness to go out of their way to make sure their guests have a positive experience."

  • Tropical Paradise

"I have been to Maui several times in the past and convinced my partner and another couple to come. From the start, dealing with Sharyn was a pleasure! Huelo Point Lookout is more than we had expected. The photos do not do it justice! The directions may seem a bit daunting, but rest assured, as soon as you make the drive once, you are set! We were greeted with some Welcome treats at the house, and were quick to meet with Sharyn. We found ourselves not wanting to leave our little paradise for fear of the 'outside world'. Though, when we did, we discovered the Twin Falls, and several other little gems which were a short drive away. We did have a little Wasp issue, but that was quickly resloved by Sharyn who handled them like a pro! The ONLY downfall (if you could even call it that) of being on this side of the Island, is that the trade winds are quite strong, and can feel like you're going to be blown over on some days. When that happens, hop in the car, and take a trip to Lahaina! From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank Sharyn for opening up her home to us Crazy Canadians ;) We hope to see you again next year!!!"
