  • Great Condo in Paia!

"This has been an amazing experience going to Maui for the first time. Martha was very helpful, all information provided was appreciated and exactly what we needed to make our stay perfect and worry free. The condo is great, but it was the coziness and familiar feeling that made our stay so much better, we really felt like being at home! Super clean and equipped with everything that is needed for a great vacation, all this we got to appreciate even more when we moved to the second condo we had booked, in Lahaina, which was really ok in itself and would have made us super happy, had we not known better in Paia. We left Maui feeling sorry that we did not book the entire stay at Martha's condo in Paia, and would definitely go back there the next time! A great way to be introduced to this type of traveling, after having been used to 'all inclusive' for years. We also got to appreciate this part of the island so much more, it's less touristy and has more of a local and authentic touch to it, and some amazing and less popular sites and places than Kihei and the South side of the island, even shopping was more fun."

  • Great spot to get away from it all!

"This is a sweet little cottage for a get away from the hustle and bustle of the world. It is located down a one lane road- so if possible arrive before dark. It was a small challenge to find in the dusk with the evening fog rolling in. The cottage is interesting in the fact that the one double bed is attached to the living space. If you ran not very agile it might be a challenge to climb in the bed but the clime is worth it- the bed is surrounded by windows- you almost feel like you are sleeping outside!!! There is a separate bedroom that you have to go outside to enter. There are bathrooms with showers in both rooms. The kitchen is stocked very nicely with most any tool, pot or pan you might need to cook. The caretakers are present but certainly not intrusive. The drive to Haleakala summit is about a one hour drive so you could plan to see the sunrise or do some hiking there- both great adventures."

  • Definitely coming back

"After 3 days at a resort in Wailea, we spent 4 utterly relaxing days at Ekena (Jasmine) and in Hana, enjoying Koki beach in the morning and cooking island style dinners in the afternoons from a copy of "What Maui Likes to Eat" that we picked up in Wailea. The kitchen has pretty much everything you need equipment-wise - graters, garlic presses, etc. The views from the deck were gorgeous - you could spend all day there just sipping wine and enjoying the ocean breeze, the rainbows, and, if you get up at night, the stars, which were pretty amazing. Hana town, what there is of it, is about 5-10 minutes away, and it's easy to pop over to Travaasa for a drink if you want, or go island style at Koki's huli-huli chicken, A's Thai food, or any of several other small roadside joints. Robin was helpful and inconspicuous. You can get basics and beer/wine locally, but its a vacation home, not a hotel or B&B, so bring your own food and spices from the Safeway and Ah Fooks Asian grocery near the airport in Kahului. Very good beach chairs and boogie boards come with the place, as does a washer/dryer, so you really don't need to bring much else. Next time we'll bag the resorts, which could be anywhere, and just come back here. (PS. The "I'd recommend this property for" list doesn't have the right category. I'd recommend this property for experienced travelers who enjoy a laid back, relaxing escape.)"
