  • Wonderful, relaxing stay at the Romantic Cottage

"Upon our arrival, our first reaction was to the magnificent view looking out toward the valley and east Maui - just stunning. The cottage was clean and comfortable and well maintained, with a very well-stocked kitchen. We ate all of our breakfasts there during our stay. The owners provided anything we could want for our daily excursions, including beach towels, a beach umbrella, and beach chairs. Being close to Makawao had its advantages for dining purposes and for art gallery browsing. One of our favorite places for dinner was the Hali'imaile General Store. Excellent food and wonderful atmosphere. Nearby is the Waihou Spring Forest Reserve, where we enjoyed an easy hike through the woods. The Romantic Cottage enabled us to escape from the usual beach crowds and enjoy a wonderfully relaxing stay in a peaceful and beautiful setting. There is nothing like waking up to birds chirping, chickens clucking, and cows mooing. We would definitely stay here again."

  • Nice for a short stay in Hana

"We spent 2 nights at Tutu's house at the end of our trip to Maui, so we could take our time enjoying the road to Hana in one day and still have another day to enjoy some of the other activities in & close to Hana (Pipiwai trail, beaches & Wainapanapa park). This is a very old house, so we weren't expecting it to be "modern" but it was very spacious, clean, had everything we needed and is on a beautiful property. The kitchen was well equipped and it was a very short walk to Hana bay beach. Our kids (9&11) slept on the pull out couch, and although I didn't find it comfortable, they didn't mind it. We loved hearing the waves through the window of our bedroom."

  • Incredible location, amazing hosts

"We are just finishing up 2 glorious weeks over the winter holidays at Ray & Vivienne's place on the North Shore of Maui and couldn't be happier with the location, setting and accommodations. We started every day with coffee on the ocean view deck followed by a game of family boccie (we have 2 teen/tween sons) in the sprawling front lawn and then headed out for island adventures or just walked over to the beach to SUP, kayak, beach walk or just relax (we didn't get the weather for wind sports but fortunately that wasn't our objective this trip). The owners were incredibly accommodating and full of local knowledge and even invited us to their New Year's Eve party, and very generously allowed me to use their covered area for a small birthday gathering with local friends. The neighbors were all welcoming and friendly and we felt extremely fortunate to be able to stay here. We'll definitely be back."

  • Jim and Stella Medley

"We absolutely enjoyed the Pole House with our two grandchildren, daughter and son in law along with a old time friends. We all enjoyed this home so much that we did not feel the need to leave the property. Alain and Elisabeth were the perfect hosts. They gave constant good advise and helped entertain the grandchildren with climbing a palm tree for coconuts. A new and exciting experience for everyone. We will return some day without a doubt. This is a perfect residence for a family holiday. The grounds, pool and hot tub were perfect and used often by all. This property is appropriate for anyone seeking a beautiful and quiet retreat. I would recommend this site to anyone or all ages. A special thanks to Alain and Elisabeth for their kindness and great input on local activities. I am sharing our experience showing photos to local friends who have already shown an interest in having a similar experience. This is paradise. In addition we experience excellent restaurants in Haiku small and family operated but excellent food and service. We enjoyed one dinner at Mama's sea food restaurant. Expensive but worth it. This has been the best holiday ever. Mahalo - Alain and Elisabeth"
