  • Magical Paradise

"This was our second stay at the Starwind Cottage and it was just as magical as it was the first time! Our stay was filled with relaxation under stars close enough to touch in the hot tub and in the morning, listening to the beautiful birds. Upon arriving after a long day of travel, there was fruit, snacks and coffee waiting for us. We cooked several nights and found everything you could need to use to produce fabulous dinners - BBQ, oven, etc., as well as plates, bowls, cups, glasses, etc. When we think about a relaxing fabulous vacation, we think of the Starwind Cottage because of it's magical presence and views of the valley. We returned fully rested, full of Maui's paradise and will be going back again! Bev and David are the most wonderful hosts with so much knowledge of Hawaii to share. Thank you Starwind Cottage - David and Bev for another memorable vacation in Maui!"

  • Amazing place, we want to move here.

"This was by far the best place we stayed at during our recent trip to Hawaii. That included three hotels in Waikiki, and two places on the Big Island. If I have ever dreamed about a place to go to relax, retire permanently , or even a little slice of heaven this is it. We knew it would be good when we drove in after following very well written directions and found our names written on a chalkboard at the front door. From there the discovery of this well-thought out cottage kept us saying "Oh wow!" There's a nice jacuzzi tub when you enter, on a enclosed patio with a reading area and a breakfast table. The living space includes a very comfortable bed and amazing sofa table in the TV area. The kitchen is well equipped, and has a few nibbles to keep you from starving. The best part of all is the bathroom, with a shower room that is covered is green tiles - with live orchids and a skylight. We couldn't say enough positive things about our experience here, would never stay anywhere else in Maui (perhaps except Hana because the trip to get there is so taxing) after staying here. We're afraid to write too good a review because others may book our spot the next time we want to go. If you are interested in this property then look no further, you won't find anything better."

  • Another wonderful stay

"This was our second time staying at Mack's Shack and I can't tell you how much we love this place. We again had so many cool adventures around Hana that I'll never forget, and mornings and evenings are so relaxing around the house. For those who want an off-the-beaten-path experience of real Hawaii, this is a perfect place to stay in a perfect setting."

  • Beautiful and clean studio 10 away from beach

"My bf and I stayed in the Sunset studio and were really impressed with the cleanliness and amenities. Upon arriving we received a basket of croissants and local fruit, coffee/tea, etc. We loved that the unit had windows all the way around and we didn't have much noise problems leaving them opened at night for the breeze. Although we are used to street noise from living in a city. Location was great! 10 min walking to Paia Bay Beach and Baldwin Beach. The town of Paia was really cute and the restaurants were not bad either. Definitely stop by Ono Gelato and Tobi's Shaved Ice! There's a great grocery store Mana Foods which is 5 min walking distance. We got breakfast food here to make in the unit, which has a fully functional kitchen! Avis was also great host. We asked if we could borrow some boogie boards and beach chairs and she readily supplied them. All in all, we would definitely recommend Hale Nihi to anyone looking for a low key vacation in Maui."
