  • Home away from home.

"My fiance, David, and I stayed at Polly Paia for seven nights and loved the home! This was David's 7th trip to Maui and he always wanted to stay on the water in Paia and Polly was a perfect fit. The location, grounds, ocean, and home were beautiful. We were walking distance from downtown, but you wouldn't know it because the property offered complete privacy. The host, Paula, did everything to ensure our stay was perfect. She could not have been more accommodating. We found our favorite stop in Maui!"

  • Perfect location in a perfect town.

"Great house that was a treat to discover. It was clean, cute and spacious inside and out. The fenced and gated yard was perfect for drying my gear, and the lanai was perfect for enjoying the famous cool trade winds. Orchids and exotic landscaping matched the nice outdoor furniture. Located a few minutes walk to any kind of shopping or eating you can imagine. Or walk to the beach. Excellent, professional property manager topped the experience with advise and quick to respond when I was planning my trip. Ill be back!"

  • Beautiful and clean studio 10 away from beach

"My bf and I stayed in the Sunset studio and were really impressed with the cleanliness and amenities. Upon arriving we received a basket of croissants and local fruit, coffee/tea, etc. We loved that the unit had windows all the way around and we didn't have much noise problems leaving them opened at night for the breeze. Although we are used to street noise from living in a city. Location was great! 10 min walking to Paia Bay Beach and Baldwin Beach. The town of Paia was really cute and the restaurants were not bad either. Definitely stop by Ono Gelato and Tobi's Shaved Ice! There's a great grocery store Mana Foods which is 5 min walking distance. We got breakfast food here to make in the unit, which has a fully functional kitchen! Avis was also great host. We asked if we could borrow some boogie boards and beach chairs and she readily supplied them. All in all, we would definitely recommend Hale Nihi to anyone looking for a low key vacation in Maui."

  • Super friendly owner and very pleasant stay - Thanks Mike!!!

"Spent over three weeks at Nessie's Place and really enjoyed my stay. This house is definitely a bargain for the area, which explains the four-star rating (a higher price who lead to a two to three-star rating from me). As previous reviewers mentioned, the best thing about this place is its owner, Mike or Loch, not sure about his real name, but I called him Mike throughout our stay and he didn't complain, so here I'll call him Mike. Mike is an amazingly helpful and easy-going guy, very generous too: he gave us an avocado, oranges and even mixed greens grown by a friend of his. Plus, he is really hard working and keeps his backyard beautiful. There is a kalamansi tree in the back (like a small orangy lime - great in cocktails!) and, while we were there, there was lots of kale, mizuna and aragula that Mike himself had grown and that we could pick anytime we wished. Second best thing about the house is its location: a scenic one-mile walk uphill from the ocean and the heart of Paia village, along a well-maintained sidewalk that makes walking safe (make sure you have a flashlight with you at night though). The house itself is quite spacious and has two full bathrooms and three bedrooms. The place was pretty clean when we got there (except for the freezer that was obviously missed by the cleaners - had to clean that ourselves) and the beds were comfortable, although one of the beds is actually a foam pad on a futon base (but still quite comfortable with a comforter over it, under the fitted sheet). We found that the futon in the living room was not comfortable at all to sit on though. There is an ancient TV in the living room, the remote did not work for it, we just watched it once and had to change the channels and operate the volume directly on the TV - no big deal. A recent reviewer pointed out that the barbecue was too old - well I'm happy to report that Mike bought a brand new barbecue during our stay and it worked flawlessly for us. Also, there is a washer and dryer outside and they were both working great and came in very handy. All in all, a great stay! The only suggestions I would have for improvement would be: - A reliable timer for the hot water tank - we ended coming back from the beach to a cold shower on several occasions, and even though Mike asked us to let him know when there was no hot water, by the time you're out of the shower to let him know, you've already had your (cold) shower; and - Hooks and towel bars in the bathrooms."
