  • fun stay

"This is a convenient place to stay if you want to surf north side spots or hang out in Paia. Not luxurious but comfortable and affordable. Some road noise, not much of a view. Nice beach close by."

  • Good value and quiet!

"This was a pleasant place to stay if you choose to be in the Ha'iku/Makawao/Pa'ia area. I think it's best for two adults, but with the downstairs futon, one additional adult or several children could work. The kitchen and bathroom are well-quipped, which I consider to be generous on the part of the owner. The place was clean and very pleasant, in a nondescript neighborhood. Be mindful that the bedroom is upstairs and the one bathroom is downstairs, which may be an issue for older adults. I think that the little private courtyard could have been cleaned up with shrubs cut back to make it a more pleasant use. We were disappointed that there was no BBQ that we could use. There was a dilapidated grill that was hard to access and may not even have been functional. Devi was most pleasant and a genuinely caring owner who wanted to make sure our stay on her property was a good one. And it was. I think that the rental amount makes it a good value. I would stay there again if that area of Maui were our destination."

  • Paradise found

"We (2 adults and our 16 year old daughter) stayed in the most lovely and perfectly equipped guest house Hale Manu from June 12-15. The interior is decorated beautifully and the surrounding is magnificent. This is the perfect place to relax and to discover the fascinating Hana and its sourroundings. It's truely a heavenly place for vacation. Thanks a lot to Chris and Leokane for their kind hospitality! And we really enjoyed hearing Leokane live at the Hana festival, don't miss his wonderfully sung Hawaiian songs. Margit, Erwin and Laura from Austria"

  • Excellent value and away from the crowds.

"Let me start off by saying I just finished my second stay at Max and Tracey’s place and am having a hard time believing Tim from Wichita stayed in the same place. The first time I stayed in the Windward Suite and this time I stayed in the Leeward suite. As another reviewer said this is not your sterile resort experience. If that’s what you expect, then Kihei, Wailea or Kaanapali is for you. If not, then you’ll be at a place that is off the beaten tourist path, close to the wonderfully quirky towns of Hai’ku (you have to try Tuk Tuk if you like Thai food) and Pa’ia, magnificent beaches, Jaws, Ho’okipa, a spectacular farmer’s market, Maui’s beautiful upcountry, Haleakala, Hana - the list goes on and on. The place is exactly as advertised. It is not a luxurious studio, but perfectly functional, clean and adequate for a great vacation, again assuming you are not looking for a resort experience. There are geckos (lizards) inside – Hawaiians consider them to be good luck. They eat the bugs. Smelled of mold? All I smelled was the Gardenias placed by the bed. The property is amazing, filled with fruit trees, a gulch and spectacular views of the Pacific and a nice walk to the end of the road with views of the North Shore’s cliffs. Max and Tracey (and Buttercup) are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Any problems are quickly taken care of. For example, one time there was no laundry detergent. Within 15 minutes, Max had some there. Maui is expensive. You will not find a better deal for $95/night – I've stayed in some at this price point and they are not as nice. And the place is legal and permitted, something you want to be sure of if you want to have a place to stay when you arrive. I’ll be back for another visit in a couple of months."

Pukalani Travel Tips

Pukalani Beach Rentals: In the Center of Maui's Majestic Beauty

When you are a guest at any of the Maui vacation rentals, you are open to doing anything Maui has to offer. Getting some sun on the beach is one option, but the natural beauty just beckons the curious traveler to explore. Snorkel or dive into the sea or hike on a trail up a mountain. You can also explore caves underground, where lava used to flow at superhot temperatures to form the land that Pukalani condos were built on. The spacious accommodations and budget-friendly prices also benefit any family or group that visits this majestic island.

Take in Awe Inspiring Natural and Culinary Adventures

Pukalani beach rentals also allow for more personal privacy compared to the many hotels in the area. This fosters peace of mind to go along with the mental enjoyment of hiking, biking, or doing something daring like flying through the air on a zip line or parasailing. Aerial tours by plane or helicopter, however, will really take your breath away. Also being centrally located on Maui, Pukalani condos are not far from upcountry restaurants, where Mexican food and steaks are popular, or the many breakfast and romantic dinner establishments on the north side of Maui.

Calming Down at the Top of the World

If you never thought you can spend a relaxing afternoon on a volcano, here's your chance. Even play golf on one, specifically Mount Haleakala, at the Pukalani Country Club which overlooks the Pacific Ocean. You can see the sea from a much higher vantage point than at Pukalani beach rentals, and you'll feel even more at home too. The homely living spaces at the accommodations and beautiful vistas and friendly natives combine to make you feel like you have always lived on Maui.
