"We just stayed on this beautiful property this past weekend and loved it. The house is fully stocked with EVERYTHING you need. We had my sons 1st bday up there with my parents and in-laws. Perfect house for family vacation. The property the house lies in is just breathtaking. Big deck with a killer ocean view. We will be back for sure. Thank you for sharing your home with us!"

"My wife and I spent two weeks in the Leeward Condo and enjoyed our stay. Our daughter lives nearby so location was our main reason for staying at Haiku Makai. Max and Tracey treat us more like friends than customers. Max brought by fresh bananas and citrus fruit almost daily. Buttercup is the official welcome "person" for the property. We are dog people so it was nice to have her greet us and be there occasionally at our door.
This was our second stay in the Leeward Condo. We found it to be comfortable. Other posters have talked about the geckos and you should be prepared to see the little guys once in a while. They are harmless but they can startle you so awareness is paramount. This condo is what you should expect for an upcountry rental. The facilities are dated but functional. The appliances work and the coffee is hot. Our only recommend would be to add an inexpensive dinner service for four and a few more cups and glasses. I did not mention this to Max or Tracey so it may well be .... all I had to do was ask. I give them the benefit of the doubt because I see them as trying hard to please their customers... trying hard to make new friends!
This is a quiet and peaceful place on a back road near Haiku. It is not in the hustle and bustle of touristy Maui. It is your get-away from that scene. It allows you to relax and enjoy the ocean view. Mahalo and Aloha!"

"Recently I attended a medical conference in Ka’anapali on the west coast of Maui. My travel companion and I decided to diversify our experience of the island by staying the rest of our days on the north coast, which is less developed and less touristed. In looking for accommodations, it was with great fortune that I came across Maui Ocean Breezes, located just outside the town of Haiku where we spent six magnificent days.
Not only is there plenty to explore close by, Haiku is located centrally enough that anything you may wish to do on the island is well within reach. The amenities at Maui Ocean Breezes fit us to a tee; we watched the sun rise from our patio, I swam under the stars in the saltwater pool and indulged in the peace and calm of the quaint little yoga hut. Our accommodations were not only comfortable, they were spotless; with a fully functional kitchen for cooking at home.
Ken and Anjali DeSure have been very thoughtful in their creation of this retreat for people who want a taste of a deeper and more authentic Maui. Along with their son, Alex, they are gracious and generous hosts in sharing their little chunk of paradise with their guests."

"We happily stayed in the 1 bedroom Hale Ulu Cottage for 3 nights in March 2015. It felt peaceful & airy with Hawaiian decor and Hawaiian music playing when we arrived. Hosts Leokane and Chris were friendly and helpful. After spending time in timeshare condo's, it was such a pleasure to have this entire, beautiful cottage to ourselves including private grounds with tropical vegetation. The cottage sits away from the road with ocean views, is only a short drive south of Hana Town, and Hamoa Beach is nearby too. Everything was there and very clean: plush towels, music, nice dishes and wine glasses, cookware/supplies/spices for easy cooking inside or outside on the grill, and even beach towels, chairs, and boogie boards! You may want to shop in Kahului for food and drinks - better prices and selection. This was a really charming getaway spot."
