  • Quiet and green

"This cottage is a clean, spacious unit with lots of privacy. The owners are friendly and helpful. It's two miles from the Hana Highway, through the jungle green. See sky and green and a little ocean from the lanai, and see a great view of Haleakala mountain and a historic hill from the kitchen window. Go outside and look at the stars at night. It's a get-away place."

  • terrific home base

"Marianne and Gary's cottage in upcountry Maui is a great central base for all island activities. It's far enough off the beaten path to be beautifully quiet at night, but easy to be on the beach in less than 10 mins. It was our "home" for 2 weeks - lovely to come in from a tough day exploring, cook dinner in the well stocked kitchen and flop on the sofa. Very comfortable king bed - awesome to sleep so well and wake up to the sound of the breeze in the palm trees. Charmingly maintained with all the amenities, this is a great getaway place. When we next come to Maui, we're trying you first. Mahalo and Namaste."

  • perfect peaceful paradise!

"This estate is magnificent! From the entrance one is greeted with lush greenery and flowering fruit trees all abundant with delicious tropical treats. After a huge travel delay we were greeted by Brett with a useful ice chest at Costco, and he gave us an overview of his awesome book of recommendations in Hana. Soon after our arrival at Hana Estate we met Sherry and Michael, caretakers who provided us with fresh laid eggs, passion fruit and mangos along with an informative tour of the property. Golf course was just amazing and we all enjoyed many rounds every day! Aside from our unfortunate travel mess delaying our arrival, we had spotty internet and cell service, but really wasn't upsetting. Pool and billiard table added to enjoyment and especially enjoyed the out door kitchen! Could not get enough of the beautiful grounds. The best family vacation ever! Thank you!"

  • The Perfect Honeymoon Location!

"I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii, but I’ve never been a fan of big hotels. So when I came across “Huelo Point Lookout” I just knew it would be the perfect place our honeymoon. We wanted the ‘real’ Hawaii and we got it! Huelo Point Lookout was perfect for us. With its relaxed ‘beach house’ kind of feel and fun tropical colors, it was no time at all before we felt completely ‘at home.’ We were coming in late, so Sharyn arranged to have a beautiful welcome breakfast in the fridge for us so we didn’t have to cope with late night luggage, car rentals AND shopping. We were able to just head to the B&B straight from the airport. Sharyn had given us great directions and the house was all lit up for us, complete with a welcome note on the door. Wow! We walked in to beautiful tropical flowers everywhere and a gorgeous fruit basket. Inside the fridge was a bottle of pinot grigio (my favorite) – and a fresh-cut chilled coconut. The hot tub was hot and waiting for us… can I say ‘wow’? What a blissful week it was. Every morning, we woke up to the sun rising out of the ocean. Huelo Point Lookout made a GREAT ‘jumping off’ point for all the island’s attractions. We got a great jump on the road to Hana by being closer than if we’d stayed in the more built up areas and had the whole Hana road to ourselves. Same with the crater. We did a couple of fancy dinners over on ‘the other side’, which was great fun, but way too built up for us. We REALLY loved being on the North shore – all the natural beauty … that great ‘off the beaten path’ feel … but only 20 mins away from fabulous restaurants, groceries and shopping. Can’t wait to come back for our anniversary! (And I see from the visitor’s book that lots of previous guests feel the same way). Five stars isn’t enough! How about TEN? Oh, and by the way, you don’t have to rent the whole house. If there are just 2 of you, you can rent “Ocean Lookout”. That’s the top floor. That saves a bit of money and no one is in the lower floor at the same time, so we always had total privacy (not to mention a great massage chair). The views are incredible from every room – all the way to Hana along the whole of Maui’s north shore."
