  • Slice of Paradise! - Don't pass this gem up when looking around Hana - this is THE PLACE TO STAY!

"The pictures show this location in full detail...but being here in person is even better! You always wonder in the picture..will it really have this view, etc. Well ALA ‘AINA OCEAN VISTA is spectacular the views are beyond the pictures. I found myself sitting on the Lanai ....and watching the views all around...2 views to the ocean...and then great mountain views. Sam and Mercury will get you settled, they are there for anything you need...and give you plenty of privacy as well! You need more than 2 nights to just rest and enjoy this slice of paradise! It is easy to cook in the outdoor kitchen, you are well supplied for breakfast - including local fruits and homemade bread. Bring your lunch/snacks and dinner with you and enjoy the ease of the outdoor kitchen and the amazing views. Only went into Hana 1 day as really there was no need to drive back and forth. And be sure and take "the back road" on your return trip - if you came up the Hana Hwy on the way up."

  • Great Condo in Paia!

"This has been an amazing experience going to Maui for the first time. Martha was very helpful, all information provided was appreciated and exactly what we needed to make our stay perfect and worry free. The condo is great, but it was the coziness and familiar feeling that made our stay so much better, we really felt like being at home! Super clean and equipped with everything that is needed for a great vacation, all this we got to appreciate even more when we moved to the second condo we had booked, in Lahaina, which was really ok in itself and would have made us super happy, had we not known better in Paia. We left Maui feeling sorry that we did not book the entire stay at Martha's condo in Paia, and would definitely go back there the next time! A great way to be introduced to this type of traveling, after having been used to 'all inclusive' for years. We also got to appreciate this part of the island so much more, it's less touristy and has more of a local and authentic touch to it, and some amazing and less popular sites and places than Kihei and the South side of the island, even shopping was more fun."

  • Expansive views, relaxing retreat!

"We loved this place! Only a few miles east of Paia, we expected it to be far from everything. But we found it very easy to get started onto the Road to Hana early, ahead of the crowds. Grocery stores are easily accessible in the town of Haiku, Makawoa and Pa'ia (Mana Foods!!). The north-facing, sweeping lawn slopes downward, allowing a lovely view of fruit trees and other lush green foliage, and the brilliantly blue ocean. We never tired of the views. Maui Ocean Breezes became a retreat for us. At dawn, I used the yoga hut for sunrise meditation. We ventured out early each morning, and usually came back here in the afternoon to swim in the saltwater pool, rinse under the outdoor shower, relax, nap and plan/prep, or change to go out to, dinner in nearby Pa'ia (Dazoo, Rock and Brews, Paia Fish Market). The retreat is the most modern of all the units and could comfortably sleep 3-4 people. Large windows on all sides provide views of the mountains and the sea.The open kitchen was well equipped, however some of the appliances could have been more thoroughly cleaned. We used the grill, with charcoal and kiawe wood chips and enjoyed the fresh bananas and papayas provided by our caretaker, Alex, a young man transplanted from Pennsylvania. The bed was comfortable and the closets sufficient. We loved the natural furniture and ample seating. In addition to two couches, large square meditation cushions were stacked in the front room, and with the cross breezes, proved to be an excellent mound on which to nap in the sun and breeze, like a cat. When we departed for Kihea for the second half of our trip, we seriously considered if we could return to this expansive and serene setting, if we didn't like the busy-ness of the more touristy West Maui area. We can't wait to go back!"
