"Our review is essentially the same as the previous one. We saved about $200+ for one night compared to the hotels rates. Kamalei answered all of our questions and suggested activities and places to eat. The town closes early so eat before 4PM or bring your own food."Guest: Steve Date of Stay: November 2013 Review Submitted: December 28, 2013View listing
"Our recent stay at this cozy little chalet cottage was awesome but only because we wanted for nothing. Wilma has provided everything we needed including her expert advice on what to see, where to eat, and we just had several wonderful conversations which made us feel like family. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay a few more days here. The bed was so comfortable, the views from the deck were spectacular, loved having laundry facilities and wifi, and loved the privacy and quiet. Everything was very clean as well and it was nice to have the heater to take the chill out in the morning. Great sleeping weather upcountry. Wilma, you and your property rock!"Guest: Lani B. "We had an amazing time at the property. It was exactly as described. The property was light and airy, with plenty of space for our family of five. It was surprisingly cool for mid August, catching some shade and breeze. We particularly enjoyed the outside shower, security gate, parking, large outdoor space and BBQ area. It was quiet, despite being close to the main road. There was a amazing little deli/coffee store two minutes walk away, which we'd highly recommend - great for foodies. The property was clean and tidy. We had little contact with the owner/manager Michael, which was no problem, as we got in easily and got on with our stay in privacy. The property is in a great location for the North Shore activities, extremely close to Hookipa and a short drive from Paia. Great storage space for all your kit. It's possible to walk to a small beach from the property, but you would need to be a bit careful with the busy main Hana hwy with very young children. Mama's Fish house (pricey) is next door. We would definitely recommend it to our friends, which we will do."Guest: Rob Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 27, 2014View listing
"After 3 days at a resort in Wailea, we spent 4 utterly relaxing days at Ekena (Jasmine) and in Hana, enjoying Koki beach in the morning and cooking island style dinners in the afternoons from a copy of "What Maui Likes to Eat" that we picked up in Wailea. The kitchen has pretty much everything you need equipment-wise - graters, garlic presses, etc. The views from the deck were gorgeous - you could spend all day there just sipping wine and enjoying the ocean breeze, the rainbows, and, if you get up at night, the stars, which were pretty amazing. Hana town, what there is of it, is about 5-10 minutes away, and it's easy to pop over to Travaasa for a drink if you want, or go island style at Koki's huli-huli chicken, A's Thai food, or any of several other small roadside joints. Robin was helpful and inconspicuous. You can get basics and beer/wine locally, but its a vacation home, not a hotel or B&B, so bring your own food and spices from the Safeway and Ah Fooks Asian grocery near the airport in Kahului. Very good beach chairs and boogie boards come with the place, as does a washer/dryer, so you really don't need to bring much else. Next time we'll bag the resorts, which could be anywhere, and just come back here. (PS. The "I'd recommend this property for" list doesn't have the right category. I'd recommend this property for experienced travelers who enjoy a laid back, relaxing escape.)"Guest: Barry Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 12, 2014View listing
