  • Could not have asked for more.

"My wife and I stayed at the condo for our honeymoon and we could not have asked for more. The condo is only minutes from all of the major resorts, beaches, restaurants, golfing and boating docks if you are looking to get away on a snorkeling excursion. The whole complex is very clean, with plenty of parking and top notch views of the ocean. The sea turtles literally hang out on the shores of the condo complex. The pool and grilling area made for relaxing afternoons after the beach and a much needed place to cool down at times. The condo itself was immaculate. The place was clean, it provided everything needed for a vacation and even supplied beach chairs and boogie boards. I would definitely return and I would recommend others to check this place out."

  • Spacious and comfortable, with unbeatable beachfront and views

"I stayed here with my 78-year-old dad, and we were both comfortable, had plenty of space, enjoyed the spectacular oceanfront views and private beach, and found most things about the condo to be very clean, convenient, and welcoming. The bathrooms are updated and convenient, and the water pressure in the showers fantastic. The modern kitchen was well-stocked, with plenty of nonstick pans, a thoughtful "sundries" drawer that included things like scissors and sewing thread, and even a drawer of food storage containers. We did one load in the washer/dryer, and they worked splendidly. Plenty of boogie boards, beach chairs, snorkel sets, and beach towels are available in the unit, too. A few things could have been better: 1) This isn't the owner's fault, but the complex's pool is 10 degrees too cold, while the hot tub is boiling. I'm not kidding, the ocean was much more comfortable than the pool. Don't ask me how that's possible. I tend to like water on the cooler side, but even I had to give up on the pool, it was freezing. 2) A small picnic cooler for guest use would have been helpful. Some condos I've been in have one, and it just makes it a lot easier to go on a day trip or bring home perishables from a farmer's market. 3) Again, this isn't the owner's fault, but the same group monopolized the community's BBQs, every night. It looked like these people were residents. I don't know how guests get to use the BBQs, but somebody had them nailed down from about 5:30 p.m. on, every night. 4) There was no Wi-Fi that I could tell, no wireless router, and no info in the unit about how to connect to the Wi-Fi if it existed, though Wi-Fi is advertised in the unit's description here. There is an RJ-45 cable connected to the unit's modem, for a wired connection. But no wireless connection. If there is, clear connection instructions, including network name and password, should be in the unit. 5) Communication with the owner is hit or miss. There's no information about check-out time, either on this site or in the unit. I emailed the owner a couple of days before our departure, to ask if we could check out at 12:30 pm., because of the timing of our flight. No response to this, and at 10:00 am sharp on the morning of our departure, the cleaning lady is at the door. Even if a 10 a.m. check-out time had been clearly posted, (which it wasn't) that's pretty early! I also needed to remind the owner to confirm when she'd received my payments."

  • Maui - the best vacation

"The Maui Sands condo we stayed in was exactly as represented and photographed. Maui did not let us down on the spectacular sunsets that were literally in our back yard, as we sipped wine and listened to the surf a mere 15' away from our lanai. The condo was fully equipped, in perfect working order, and felt so comfortable. Our hostess, Heather , was available and courteous and attentive to every detail. What an amazing week, and our only complaint was we had to leave. What a spectacular rental, and we are so ever grateful for the opportunity to share it. WOW!~!"

  • Wonderful Maui Vacation!

"We had previously stayed in resort condos in Kaanapali and decided to try a smaller, independent building in Honokowai. The owner was easy to contact, very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. This two week stay was very good value particularly as there are no resort fees to pay. Cleaning fee was reasonable. The condo was clean and spacious and was equipped as described on VRBO. Nice to have a full kitchen. No need for AC as the breeze and ceiling fans were more than adequate. The view overlooking the pool area, palm trees and out to the ocean is amazing and staying in July in this unit means not having the sun heating up the condo in late afternoon. We were often the only guests at the pool, on the sun deck, using the BBQ's as it is low season. Access to the ocean right off the property is straightforward but can be tricky when the tide is in but with a little practice you are swimming off a sandy beach or snorkelling with feeding turtles who visit every day! At low tide there is full access to the shore behind the adjacent properties and Honokowai Beach Park. Three minute drive to the Times grocery store, snorkel rentals, ABC store and other shops. Also three minutes drive away the beach walk starts opposite the Times grocery store in the park and makes its way through the Kaanapali resorts, to Whaler's Village and beyond. Lahaina just 15 minutes drive away, the new outlet stores are a wonderful addition! The condo location on the lower road also means easy driving access to all the great beaches and excellent restaurants in the area. This a great starting point for daily excursions."
