  • Beautiful Maui Paradise

"We arrived very late at almost 11pm after a painfully long day of flying from the east coast. We were met in the lobby by our host who took care of every detail, from showing us where to park, escorting us up to the condo, and showing us how everything worked and ensuring we had everything we needed before she left. Although the condo overlooks an abandoned area to the south which looked as though someone might develop it, it provided for a quiet buffer from the next development. And although the ocean view was partially obstructed, it was still very pleasant to sit out on the lanai in the morning to have coffee or in the evening to have a drink and just enjoy the breezes and the view. Inside the condo, there was nothing you could want for!! It was well appointed and everything that we used worked well. The beds and other furnishings were comfortable and there was a nice breeze so we just had the doors and windows open and never used the AC. The location was beautiful and close to Lahaina town which provided plenty of shopping and dining options. And after a few long excursions to Hana and Haleakala, it was nice to return to this comfy haven. The only thing we could have wished for is more time. Everything was excellent and I would highly recommend this property for a family with kids or a pair of couples."

  • Over the Rainbow

"Our family of four spent a week at the resort after coming from busy Waikiki. What a difference! The resort was paradise! The condo was perfectly appointed from the bathroom to the beach toys. We decided on this condo with a view of the mountains and a slight view of the ocean and we were plesently surprised by the daily rainbows! The lani was a nice size and we enjoyed dinner several nights out there. It was very quite on this size away from the pool so it was a bonus! The pools and ground were also perfectly kept and we always found plently of places to sit at the beautiful pools. The winds were pretty strong during our stay so we did not spend as much time at the beach swiming as we would of liked. With our two teenagers we did take advantage of all the activities around us: Snorkleing, zip line, surf lessons and shopping. Every one was more exciting than the last. I would also recomment going to Costco or going to Safeway for food. The store across the street is definitly $$$. Overall the staff was very helpful and friendly. Thanks for an amazing week!"

  • Excellent Condo

"This was an excellent condo for our week in Maui. It is on the outside of the building, which allowed it to be more quiet than an inner courtyard condo. Being on the 4th floor, you get a great view of the ocean and the mountains alike. Having the empty space/construction space next door did detract from the view a bit, but overall, this space was perfect. We had a great time and this relaxing condo was perfect! Thank you KBM for hosting us well!"

  • Perfect family condo

"This resort and condo was amazing for my family. My almost 8yo son had the best time at the pool and really enjoyed the water slide! Being on the ground floor made it so easy to go in and out without the hassle of walking thru the hotel and waiting on elevators. My favorite part was sitting on the patio each morning and watching the sun rise with my coffee. The unit has all the essentials in the kitchen, so preparing meals was not a problem (if you like to cook in your vacation). We also used the resort provided Viking BBQ's on 2 occassions and had a blast visiting with all the other people bbq'ing out there! The unit has plenty of room to hang out, but really, who stays inside when your in Maui? :)"

Honua Kai Travel Tips

Staying in West Maui with Honua Kai Vacation Rentals

West Maui is a destination for the people who want to go to the tropics to get away from everything, but while holding onto the bits of civilization that make life enjoyable, like high rises, world-class restaurants, first-class golfing, and unforgettable scuba diving in crystal clear waters. West Maui is also home to the world's best sunsets, which can be viewed from the decks of Honua Kai vacation rentals. Honua Kai is condominium building built just north of Kaanapali beach. It's a bit outside of the hubbub of the tourist areas, and it is home to some of the best views of the western Pacific on Maui.

Visiting Maui by Staying in Someone's High Rise Condominium

With a vacation rental, a vacationer rents someone's property. So instead of going to a hotel, a renter essentially rents a home through a private agreement with its owner. The home can be a shack in the mountains, or a luxury condo in Maui, which is what Honua Kai is. Honua Kai beach rentals allow a vacationer to experience Western Maui and Kaanapali resorts, without paying the fees of a hotel. And a vacation rental by owner allows you to utilize a kitchen instead of eating out.

Honua Kai Beach Rentals and You

A beach rental through a condominium like Honua Kai allows a vacationer to stay in a cozy home, while being in the center of a beautiful and exotic locale. You can fit more people into a vacation rental than you can a hotel; since it's a home, there are sometimes extra rooms, or pull-out sofas. The rates for a vacation rental are typically much lower, especially when you add the extra bed space and the savings of eating in. And there's no lack of activities in Western Maui, though you may just prefer to relax and take in the sunset.
