Spectacular Christmas Vacation
"Patty and Rick's condo was the perfect location for our first trip to Maui. The view from the lanai is amazing. We were able to drink our morning coffee while listening to the ocean and watching whales surface. The unit was stocked with all the beach gear we needed. We had a wonderful Christmas on Maui and the comforts of their unit at Honua Kai made the trip. We will definitely be making a return trip in the future."

"We visited during May. The condo comfortably housed 5 - 3 being college aged young adults. The condo has a beautiful wrap around lanai with an amazing view. It is nicely furnished and has all amenities needed. We enjoyed having the kitchen to cook breakfasts, and the outdoor grills in the evenings. It is a short drive into Lahaina for great dinner or lunch options, or grocery, and Dukes is located on property. The beach is perfect! We will return!"

"I chose this unit for the west facing views and was not disappointed. The balcony is second in from the ocean side and has a dead on view of the sunsets every night. It also overlooks the quiet adult pool, to the left. Nice and shaded in the mornings for coffee good for afternoon sun
The condo itself was very nice, love the folding doors and long balcony. Bedrooms and bathrooms were great as was the kitchen. The unit was very well stocked with non food items such as laundry soap, garbage bags, coffee filters and so on. Wish someone would add spices and basics like salt and pepper. The other 3 bedroom unit that the rest of our group rented (329) had lots of these items. The resort has a lot of kids running around so if you are adults looking for quiet this may not be the resort for you. The quiet pool is good but it is not overly large. We chose this resort to accommodate my elderly father. The building and quiet pool are very good for seniors, good steps with railings, no pool in any part of the complex is deeper than 4 feet. Beach is a little steep going down to the ocean, but walkways to and along the beach are great. Dukes restaurant needs to expand it's menu selections especially for dinner. It is ok for lunch and ok if you have kids, but it is certainly not for foodies. Air conditioning is very good and controlled separately in each of the bedrooms. The ceiling fans in each room including the living room is a very welcome addition.
Elevators can be a bit of a pain, not enough in my opinion for the number of people in the building.
Overall we were happy with this unit."

"We booked at honua Kai at the recommendation of my brother who had been twice with his wife and son... We considered staying in Kihei but tripped across this unit and I am so glad we found it!! We came as a couple and a couple with a new baby all looking for some sun to escape the rain in bc... We really appreciated the quick response to emails and also the fun reminder notifications that our vacation was coming soon! Justin was fantastic calling us to arrange to meet and get us checked in and gave us a quick run down on the condo which is lovely! Fully equipped (if you are a chef bring knives! But otherwise perfect) the pools and the staff are way better than anticipated even which is hard to believe... Happy hour is from 3-5 but there are guys and gals from dukes wandering all day to bring drinks and snacks for purchase and security staff (esp but not exclusively zaylen!) who make you feel welcome and secure as they make sure only guests are hanging by the pool...many days we would hit the beach for a run and the pools for a leisurely afternoon plunge and bevvie...great grocery store a walk across the street that was reasonably priced and had most things you would want...walk to whalers village and a bus if you want for a couple bucks ...even in the awesome rainstorm dukes was a fun reprieve and the coffee shop staff had some great advice ...concierge booked us a luau with no trouble ...all four(well five if you include the babe) enjoyed our stay so much! Hope to be back to honua Kai and will look for 420 for the gorgeous mountain view and being well taken care of! Mahalo !"
