  • PERFECT for Whale Watching Part 1

"I selected this condo for the unobstructed 180 degree view. Condo is smack on the water. The condo sea wall has waves splashing on it during high tide. Whales come very close, almost to the breakers, turtles like the reef right out front. Snorkelers, kite surfers, boogie boarders, canoes all fun to watch. Tall lanai chairs perfect for viewing. We rarely left the condo except for groceries and felt we had plenty of room. We spent most of every day on the lanai eating many of our meals there. Despite overcast weather we spent all day most every day watching whales and taking photos. We got photos of some gorgeous sunsets. Some of the whales use a channel very near breakers in front of 504 so lots of close whale activity for watching and photographing. Whale watching outboard canoes sit in the channel to wait for whales. One group of canoes had a whale hang out with them entertaining them for over half hour including a breach! Sunday we saw continuous whales from sunrise to sunset. A pod of spinner dolphins came through the closest channel - lots of leaping fun to watch. Saturday a snorkeler was followed, then surrounded by 4 small turtles - snorkeler swam off and they followed for a while before returning to browsing for algae on the reef. King bed very comfortable. Wave sounds perfect for lulling to sleep. Closet and drawer storage adequate for 2 people. Bath crowded but workable for one person at a time. Lots of drawer storage! Wonderful shower - roomy with great shelves for your soap, nice pressure for washing off sand stuck inside bathing suit - be sure to use the foot wash by the beach stairs to get sand off before you enter the building. I like the convenient squeegee for the glass shower door. Love the glass block wall and lovely picture on tile wall. Kitchen is compact, but has EVERY thing you could need. Review cupboards before shopping - nice selection of spices etc. Follow instructions for the garbage disposal. I kept a closed plastic bag next to the sink to add fibrous food during the day and dropped it down the super convenient trash chute directly across the hall each night. Keep open packages in the refrigerator (cereal and bread). These practices will help prevent the tiny but determined Maui sugar ants from finding anything. TV and DVD work great - be sure to follow instructions carefully. Wonderful lanai doors are smooth and easy to move so be gentle - force not needed. NOTE: Leave door key in lock for 3 seconds until green light on."

  • Mr. and Mrs.

"Pictures do not do this place justice. We were delighted to find it even more exceptional than expected! The perfect honeymoon location and we cannot wait to return to this piece of paradise. If you are hesitant like we were about such an investment based on virtual information, don't be! Bonnie was awesome to deal with and delivered everything as expected! Highly recommended! Absolutely beautiful views, extremely clean and perfectly decorated living space and an amazing rooftop deck make this condo heaven! Thank you for allowing us to enjoy this piece of paradise!"

  • A gem!

"I had hesitated a lot before I book this condo. We travelled with our two teenage girls and at first, I was not sure if it was better to stay closer to the Whalers Village. We were all happy that I had picked this condo. We visited the Whalers Village area where stores and restaurants are but it was too crowded and noisy. This condo is located in a quiet area and is perfect for us to relax. The condo itself is exactly like the pictures, it was decorated with taste and has everything you need. The view from the lanai is amazing, it is very relaxing to sit at the lanai and watch the ocean, you couldn't be closer to the water. Thank you Christine for sharing your condo with us. We would definitely recommend this condo to anyone."

  • A gem

"My boyfriend and I (age 24 and 30) stayed at Maui Kai Condo 206 and we were pleasantly surprised from the beginning. We had only rented a few condos before this and this condo made quite the positive impact on us as it was very organized and clean while still maintaining character eg. pineapple pillows, chairs etc. The kitchen was very modern and the view was spectacular (just like the photos suggest). You are literally situated on the beach.. like a beach bungalow but way nicer. We made sure to open our windows and blinds every morning and night to look out at the water and listen to the crashing waves....soothing and so unlike home! In terms of location to everything else here is what we found: Whalers village is approx. a 40 min walk.. you can walk along the beach with a few inland interruptions but not a big concern at all (we did this the second to last day and we checked out the Whalers Museum, which was very informative!). To get to Lahaina, we usually drove and it only took us 10-15 mins to do so..awesome town. Black Rock on Kaanapali Beach is also within a 45 min walk..these walks are great to do as you get to see much of the Kaanapali shoreline and hotels along it but I do recommend to be mindful of how hot it is at the time of day you plan on going and whether you would prefer to drive it! Sunset walks are awesome if you can plan it or just before or earlier in the morning. As you can see, the condo is definitely situated where you can access many great spots either through a bit of a walk or a quick drive. We also recommend highly to check out Kapalua Coastal Trail.. Kapaula was awesome.. we swam alongside a few turtles and the snorkeling was great and it took us about 10 mins to drive from the condo:) We cooked in the kitchen a few times and found that the kitchen was very well equipped..really anything we needed was supplied and more. I would highly recommend this condo as it is not only beautiful on the inside and in its surroundings, private and affordable compared to some of the other ritzy hotels along Kaanapali, it also exudes comfort and character (eg. personal information books that are provided by the owner, board games, high quality flat screen tv, comfy chairs and couches etc!). Thank you to the Risinger Family for a memorable stay!"
