Just as pictured!
"The condo and view is just as the owners have pictured. Very comfortable, clean, and well appointed condo with a clear view of the ocean. Every bed was comfortable. There were 6 of us total, 3 couples, and we all felt that we had a private space of our own to retreat to. We were able to sit on the lanai and whale watch.
Best thing about this condo is how comfortable it is and how well they have stocked it. I also love this location on Maui. Little less crowded than Kaanapali area and I prefer West Maui over South Maui. Lahaina is a short drive away for dinners out or a little night life. Lahaina Harbor is also where you will catch most of the ocean excursions/whale watching from in West Maui. Papakea is a very large complex but they have it divided into 2 so it feels a bit more manageable, which also gives you 2 pool/hot tub areas to choose from as well as grassy areas, etc.
Worst thing about this condo is...elevator was sketchy and with condo being on 4th floor we took the stairs a lot. I also thought there was a slight bit of beach in front of condo but there is none, at least not while we were there. It was a crazy storm weekend though so maybe that had something to do with it. Hot tub next to our building was broken the whole time we were there. Parking lot was large but got full very quickly at the end of the day. We had to park a distance from condo and walk a bit at the end of some days. Neither of these being a big deal, we are all in good shape except one friend who has a knee injury. At check in, it did feel very time share resorty with the classes and so on offered, but no one is pressuring you to sign up anywhere.
Just a reminder about being hit with the additional $15 per day resort fee when you check in . It is clearly stated and I knew that, but it still came as a surprise upon check in when you feel like you have already paid in full up front.
All in all a really good condo and I would recommend it."

"We rented this unit for a week in May 2015. Everything we were told about the unit is true. Having everything you need such as beach toys, umbrellas, beach chairs as well as a complete kitchen made our trip carefree. Not having a beach immediately in front is no problem as the beach is next door and an easy walk. The 3 air conditioners worked well. The grounds, hot tubs, putting greens are well maintained and beautiful. Although we didn't avail ourselves of the excursion desk, it appeared to be well run."

"I finally made it back to Maui after many years. Was there with 7 friends to celebrate my birthday. I had the wonderful opportunity to utilize Jennifer and Russ' condo at Papakea and could not have been happier. The condo is very well appointed and was nicer than what my friends had in most respects. It is perfect for one or two people. The kitchen makes for easy cooking and prep, the marble counters fantastic and the walk-in-shower was a blessing after a day at the beach (and the squeegee was just like home) you could not ask for more fantastic hosts as Jennifer made a point to ensure my stay would be hassle free. I can't wait to return and am already looking at dates!

"My family of four stayed at this condo for six days and we couldn't have been more pleased. As soon as we entered the unit, the first thing we saw was the great view of the ocean out through the lanai. Walking distance to the shore is about 175 feet. This unit overlooks one of the two pools and hot tubs in the development and there are about six barbecues spaced out around the pool and lounge chairs. I was able barbecue dinner while the family was in the pool.
Staying in a condo with full amenities (full kitchen, washer/dryer, etc) is the best way to do it with a family. If you just want to kick back and not do anything that day, you don't feel like you have to get out of there like you do in a hotel room. The loft was a hit with the kids. There are stores and restaurants within walking distance. Definitely going to remember this property when we plan our next trip to Maui. The owners, Mike and Cindy, were great to work with."
